Specter: Democrats getting ‘angry,’ will pass healthcare bill
Democrats in Congress are getting “angry” enough to push through healthcare reform, Sen. Arlen Specter (D-Pa.) said today.
Speaking to reporters after President Barack Obama’s healthcare event outside Philadelphia on Monday, Specter said frustration over Republican “obstruction” is making his caucus determined to move ahead.
Ya know what? I don’t care if the Democrats are getting angry. They can get angry all they want. What I DO care about is the fact they are NOT representing the interests of their constituents. 20% strongly favor this crap. TWENTY PERCENT! The AMERICAN people do not want these morons in D.C., who can’t even control their own lives, control ours. IT’S NOT IN THEIR JOB DESCRIPTION!
“I think there’s a lot more determination in the Congress now to get it passed,” he said, according to a pool report. “I really think there’s sort of reaction on the Democratic side of getting a little angry over the duration and intensity of obstruction and a lot more determination to see it through.”
In this case, the Democrat definition of “obstruction” is the Republicans remember who pays their salaries. Uh…Arlen…. ol’ buddy, ol’ pal??? That would be WE, THE PEOPLE!
“The president’s providing for more fiery leadership now,” Specter said.
“That’s the most fiery I’ve seen him since the early campaign,” he added. “When I was listening to him, I wished that he had given that in the State of the Union. If it’s the State of the Union he would have reached a lot more people.”
Oh, I’m quite sure Obama is all fired up. There are still a few folks who believe his lies, but the number is getting smaller and smaller.

Interesting comments coming from a recent party flipper. I agree that the majority of our representatives seem to be representing their own interests over ours — Ben Nelson, and the LA dealmaker. Perhaps term limits should be a National priority. I don’t think that we can afford to cover this group of people in this fashion with a National (Socialist) healthcare plan.
We would be way better to provide relief at the state levels and some open ideas at the National level but nothing effecting our relationships to our Doctors. National ideas might be to open insurance competition across state borders. Allow the market to drop rates, get government out of covering this procedure or that procedure – this is where the state mandates are.. insisting that this procedure be done or covered.
Fight existing crime and government expenditures of wasteful fraud. Investigate criminal claims for work that was not performed. Start going after office personal and Doctors for billing charges not actually performed. Medicaid and Medicare have the data. Just hire people to go through it looking for fraud. Cheaper than establishing all the government in the proposed plans. After the fraud group can no longer pay for itself with savings – cancel the review.
Weasel Specter flips more than a a teenager hooker. Sheesh!
I’m all for term limits. Thought our vote was ‘limit’ enough, but I have been proven wrong over the past decade or so. “Serving” in Congress was never meant to be a life long career. Reckon way too many have forgotten that. Too much fun playing with other people’s money? No doubt.
Did ya know that the Rep controlled Congress actually pass a version of health care reform that opened state borders, etc. The slim majority Senate couldn’t pass it. Now, if the Dems keeps flapping their gums about no ideas, obstructionism, etc., perhaps there should be a few headlines? Won’t happen, but I can always hope.
olbroad.
I’m all for term limits.

Dunno; if those critters have something to lose, maybe they will pay more attention to the wishes of the voters.
Well, you’d think so, wouldn’t ya. But it seems there are a whole bunch of folks who are real comfortable with the idea they’ll be there as long as they want, and can do what they damn well please.
