SGP Meets SPQ

Ok, the suspense is over Chris!  If there was any doubt about my ability to laugh at myself, let all be dispelled….NOW!  :P

If ya didn’t know, I am one of MANY very SMART GIRLS!  As in Smart Girls Politics.  Well, someone had this really bright idea, back at the SGS09 that we should all get together and march in a parade.  Sounds simple enough, right?  Little did I know….  Heh.

Well, the Smart Girls are meeting the Sweet Potato Queens.   All weekend!

This afternoon, we met to put some finishing touches on our attire for the evening, before heading off to the Margarita something or other.  Naturally, Suzanne had to feed us first, cuz gracious sakes, this was hard work, and we need our strength, don’cha know.  :D

We had to pick up our armbands too, so might as well check out the bluegrass band that was in the lobby, right?

And do some gawking.

I’ll be perfectly honest…I had NO idea what to expect from all this. I had looked at the website numerous times, and wondered….uh….how does an fat ol’ broad dress up for such a shindig? Well, after being told that we would be wearing our SGP t-shirts at every event, which, btw, turned out to NOT be true…thankyouverymuch :P Julia…I managed to throw a little something together. So, here are just a few of the Smart Girls….

While 90% of the attendees are definitely female, an occasional spouse gets thrown into the mix.

Gotta love a man with a sense of humor!  His wife was having a great time taking pictures of him with all manner of ladies. LOL

And then….my camera crapped out. Well, at least that’s what it said. When I got it back to the room, to charge the battery, sucker said it had a full charge. Not sure if there is a relationship between the gentleman above, or what, but…..

Tomorrow, the parade. Did you know that the Sweet Potato Queen St. Patrick’s Day Parade is the THIRD largest in the country? Yup. And ya know what else? Unlike other organizations, the federal gubmint comes to mind, this one really IS for the CHILRRRRUNS!

I’ll be getting pics from the others, but not tonight.  I’m freakin’ exhausted!

    @ Ick -
    Yes,  Jasper is a very well traveled bear.  He’s been through more TSA
    bullroar than most humans – and he’s just a bear.  You know his story.
