An Ol' Broad's Ramblings
I Stand WITH Israel!
I spent a larger than average chunk of time out and about yesterday, so I was able to listen to the radio off and on. I don’t normally listen at home, unless I remember to fire it up on the computer. We don’t get much in the way of national stuff out here in Podunk. Thank goodness for the internet. Luckily, we have Sirius in the “cruck”, so I’m able to keep up once in a while. Contrary to what many think, I’m not listening to Rush, or Hannity, or anyone else while I’m tooling around. Nope, depending on the time of day, I’m catching John Gibson, Tom Sullivan, or Spencer Hughes. On the RARE occasion, I’m even up and out to listen to Brian & the Judge.
Anyway, when I finally got back in the ‘cruck’, the radio came on, and I heard that O had decided we don’t need no stinkin’ nukes! My very first thought: “Wow! Did that fool just invite Iran to bomb Israel?” His treatment of our ONLY ally in the Middle East has been down right embarrassing. Well, let’s face, his whole time in office has been an embarrassment, but that covers WAY too many topic, and right now, I’m focusing on Israel.
Obama, Russian Leader Sign Off on New Nuke Reduction Treaty
Climaxing months of hard negotiations, President Obama and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev agreed on Friday to sharp cuts in the nuclear arsenals of both nations in the most comprehensive arms control treaty in two decades. “We have turned words into action,” Obama declared.
Obama said the pact, to be signed April 8 in Prague, was part of his effort to “reset” relations with Russia and a step toward “the peace and security of a world without nuclear weapons.”
The agreement would require both sides to reduce their arsenals of long-range nuclear weapons by about a third, from 2,200 now to 1,550 each. The pact, replacing and expanding the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty of 1991, which expired in December, was a significant gesture toward improved U.S.-Russian relations that have been badly frayed.
Is the Clown in Chief not aware that Russia is not really our bud? Does he not know that Russia is quite supportive of Iran? Does he not know that Iran has repeatedly threatened Israel? Can he not remove his nose from his own ass long enough to take a REAL good look at what is happening in the world? Do you get the impression that Obama is NOT a friend of Israel?
When the Mr and I took our trip over there in 2008 (sitting in the Atlanta airport as the results of the election came in *shakes head*), we listened to the Israelis, and we also listened to the Jewish tourists, mostly from New York. Many times, the Israelis asked us, “What do you think of your new president?” Well, our response was overwhelming, “God help us!” To which we got positive replies. On several of the tours, especially at the Temple Mount, we heard a tour guy asking the group, mostly Americans, how they felt about the outcome of the election. The couples from New York spoke up, quite loudly, I might add, in that incomprehensible tone arrogant tone, “We are just THRILLED!” and the sucking up commenced! Thought I was gonna puke, right there inside the Wall!
I kept my mouth shut, because, well, I sure didn’t want to start a riot right there, where devout Jews came to pray. I’m not a Muzzie y’know! The “LOOK” the Mr gave me helped me keep my cool too.
“We have turned words into action. We have made progress that is clear and concrete. And we have demonstrated the importance of American leadership — and American partnership — on behalf of our own security, and the world’s,” Obama said.
The only true “partnership” we have….er… had….was with Israel. And he’s totally blowing that (no pun intended) sky high! I know the European Union is suppose to be an ally, but I’m questioning that, more and more, every day. Well, considering we are heading, more and more, in their socializing footsteps, perhaps I’m wrong? Ok, let’s put it this way….I AM A FRIEND TO ISRAEL, even if this current administration is not! And, I know a LARGE number of American people feel exactly the same way. Truth be told, if push came to shove, I’d fight on the side of Israel, before I’d ever consider supporting THIS administration’s actions against them.
Genesis 12:2-3
2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
In my list of highest priorities: God, country, family. In THAT order! I’ve always been that way, even in my lib days (which is probably why they were short lived), and it’s not about to change now!
Ratification in the Senate will require 67 votes, two thirds of the Senate, meaning Obama will need support from Republicans. Some GOP senators had previously expressed concerns about concessions being made by U.S. negotiators.
Clinton, asked whether approval could be achieved given the recent fierce partisan battles and close votes over health care, said it could.
“National security has always produced large bipartisan majorities, and I see no reason why this should be any different,” she said. “I believe that a vast majority of the Senate, at the end of the day, will see that this is in America’s interest. And it goes way beyond politics.”
Gotta tell ya, if 67 Senators go along with this crap, then we KNOW just where they stand. If ONE of the 41 current Republican Senators sign on, as far as I’m concerned, they are signing Israel’s death warrant! Not that she’ll die, cuz she’s got a whole lot more Power behind her than Iran.
And I ain’t talkin’ nukes!
Adm. Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said that by helping to build trust “this treaty enhances our ability to do that which we have been charged to do — protect and defend the citizens of the United States.”
He said U.S. commanders around the world “stand solidly behind the treaty.”
Is this just his “public opinion”, or does he really believe this ‘privately’ as well? I thought the Joint Chiefs were suppose to be serious military minds?
Are they not aware of the connection between Russia and Iran? You know full well, if Iran sends a nuke to Israel, we SHOULD retaliate in their defense! Will we? I’ve no doubt in my mind, if this happens, we WILL be attacked, either by Russia, Iran’s ally, or sleepers, right here in the U.S. of A.
Just want to take this opportunity to apologize to the people of Israel. I didn’t vote for him, and I know of many who are questioning their votes these days as well. So, I will tell you, it’s no secret where I stand:

Iran isn’t going to attack Israel, Ahmadinejad may or may not want to but he wouldn’t get the backing from the country to do so, it would ensure the destruction of the country. Anyway, when’s the last time Iran invaded another country? If Iran wants nukes it’s because they’re scared shitless of Israel and the USA. Considering what happened in the 50′s, I’m not even sure I can blame them.
You’re kidding, right? What planet are you on?? Do you not pay attention? Like there is anything in Iran that either the U.S. or Israel could possibly want!
Oh, and I guess they don’t hang protesters, or homosexuals either.
“Death to Israel”
Don’t tell me! You are one of those who want to force sharia on GB, and every other country too. Jeeez…. crawl back under your rock, K?
I’ve got way more reason than you to be pissed off at the current state of Iran so with all due respect you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. Just consider that in the minds of many of the GOOD Iranians – the ones getting hanged for protesting – America and the UK overthrew a popular government to install a dictatorship and many believe that they wouldn’t be in this current terrible situation without the discontent that the coup caused.
You need to learn some REAL history for once.
Well, with all due respect, I am quite aware of the recent history of Iran. Yeah yeah… the Shah was quite “prosperous”, but then, didn’t Iranian have more freedom under him? I can’t even imagine using a bathroom with gold fixtures. Creeps me out! But this isn’t about him. He’s dead. Gone. It’s about the determination to Islamify the world. It’s not just Ahmanutjob. If the rest of the Muslim countries didn’t feel the need to stop the nutjob, doesn’t that mean they condone his speech? Shoot, they have pretty much said the same thing. The Palestinian Charter states the same thing. Iran is smuggling weapons into Israel. Ever been there? I have. I’ve seen the hatred and evil. It’s an ugly thing.
Personally, I have no use for a large number of politicians. If Obumbler would have spoken up, supported the demonstrators, I think there might have been a change for the people to actually be inspired to step up behind the students. I don’t believe the real people of Iran want war, with anybody, but on the other hand, they have been so brainwashed as to believe that Israel and the U.S. are at the bottom of all their misery. They should look much closer to home for those answers.
More freedom under him than the government that he succeeded or the current regime? If you’re talking about the former then there is no contest. The point that I’m trying to make is that without the shah, Khomeini would never have gotten into power. The revolution happened because people were desperately unhappy with the shah and the mullahs hijacked the movement. It’s easier to manipulate people when there is discontent. This is what you see in Israel now. The Israeli government treats the Palestinian people like shit, they help to create the hatred that is exploited by Islamic extremists. That isn’t to justify terrorism, anyone who attacks innocent people deserves what they get – but Israel is not exactly innocent of this with its overly heavy handed tactics.
Obama could not have changed the situation, heavy handed interference from the outside usually creates more problems in the long run (Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe to name just a few). The people of Iran will get democracy but it will take time.
The government of Iran is making noises, trying to look big like a scared cat would – but they would not dare to attack another country unprovoked.
Have you ever been to Israel? Israel has TRIED to live side by side with the Arabs. There is actually no such thing as a Palestinian. Have you read their charter? No, I think you’ve got things a tad backwards. I’m not unaware of the history, and am quite aware there were incidents since the re-establishment of the State that could have been handled differently. The British didn’t help the situation at all. And I’m sure you’re aware of the connections between Al Husseini and the Nazis, right?
The Islamonazis won’t allow the Iranian people to have freedom. They want an Islmaic world, under sharia law. Or haven’t you noticed that either.
The LAST thing we should do is placate ANYONE who is in bed with such people!
