An Ol' Broad's Ramblings

Must Remind Them – Oz Is Not the Center of the World

For reasons I won’t go into right now, I’m awake. It’s almost 3:30am. I don’t like this. So, while I’m waiting to get my eyeballs to droop, I decided I’d do a little “light” reading. Lo and behold, I come across another WAY off the mark column by that clown at the NYT, Krugman. You can read it if you want.  Thanks, I’ve already read it, and would just as soon not have to do any of the copy and pasting, picking and choosing the most ridiculous parts to ‘anylize I wonder if he ever leaves his concrete citadel, and walks in the shoes of the REAL America? Sorry, I just don’t see places like NY, or L.A. as part of today’s America. The land of fantasy, and the land of the bona fide working man (and woman) do not jibe.

So, anyway, I thought I’d take a gander at some of the comments, and while the majority seem to be Krugman hinder kissers, there are a few who, politely mind you, tell him he is way off mark. Naturally, those types get slapped down by the moonbats, but that’s to be expected.

What I found interesting, in just the first 2 pages, were two comments, one, quite typical. From R-Star of San Fransisco offering the tired lefty “pearl of wisdom”:

I think the opposition to the health care plan has little to do with the health care plan.
It has everything to do with the fact that the president of the country is a black man.
This is racism run wild – the true defining ideology of “real” Americans.

Uh, no princess. Bless  her heart, she doesn’t know she’s ignorant.  People are angry because the so called ‘health care plan” has nothing to with care, and everything to with control, and in tax…and control! No one gives a flip what color the man’s skin may be. It’s just not an issue. Maybe YOU have problems with him being the child of a black man from Kenya, and a white woman?? Hmmm??? Maybe it’s YOU who are the true racist? I mean, after all, it’s the left who is ALWAYS bringing up skin color.

Just a little something to share with you: In the 26 major civil rights votes after 1933, a majority of Democrats opposed civil rights legislation in over 80 percent of the votes. By contrast, the Republican majority favored civil rights in over 96 percent of the votes.

The other, I nearly wet m’drawers and spewed my Coke (both too late, and too early for coffee, don’cha know) all over the monitor!   JimF of Los Altos, CA has this little gem:

Well put.
Years ago someone (Lear?) Said we have a 1.5 party system — Republicans and Republicans Lite.
Now, the Democrats are the center-right pro-business party and the GOP has become the George Wallace Dixie-crats.
Proof? Obamacare is well to the right of Nixon’s healthcare plan.

Democrats?  Center-right pro-business??????? ………………………………………………………………………………. Doooooooood…seriously?  Oh, and an FYI little dudlet?  George Wallace was a Democrat, as were every other segregationist, like oh…..Robert KKK Byrd?

In the 26 major civil rights votes after 1933, a majority of Democrats opposed civil rights legislation in over 80 percent of the votes. By contrast, the Republican majority favored civil rights in over 96 percent of the votes.

Hate to break to ya Skippy, but the 2010 Democrats are doing what Democrats have been doing since the end of the War of Northern Aggression….continuing to look black Americans as “slaves” and scapegoats. Jim Crow anyone? Why does this video come to mind?  Only different between the white Democrats suppressing the black vote in the South, and the black Democrats suppressing the vote, is the color of the suppressor.  In the 1870s, white Democrats gradually returned to power in southern states, sometimes as a result of elections in which paramilitary groups intimidated opponents, attacking blacks or preventing them from voting. Sorry, it wasn’t the Republicans who treated the black man as a subhuman. It was the Democrats, and they haven’t changed one iota! Oh, they talk big about all kind of ‘level playing fields’ and such, but translate that into Dem speak, it means “dose ol’ black folk ain’t smart enough to compete with white folk, so we’uns must gib dem special prizes”.

If that sounds disgusting, it should. Because that’s exactly how I see Democrats treating anyone who they wish to keep down. Oh yeah, it’s the white man keeping some folks down alright. The DEMOCRAT white man! Who else has enslaved generation to the welfare state, providing less than adequate education to the children, not expressing the importance of actually getting an education, learning a skill, a trade, a career to break the cycle? Why, it’s been the Democrats! I’ve no doubt I could have as easily gone that route myself, but I got fed up in a very short period of time, worked my way off the welfare roles, by getting a Pell grant and going to a computer school. it was a relief NOT to be dependent on anyone for my own well being, and that of Jr, who was living with me at the time.

Yes, Richard Nixon has a health care plan.  I couldn’t have gone along with it either, while most of it is just plain common sense, there are way too many item that oddly resemble Obumbler’s boon doggle.  You can read Nixon’s proposal here.

It’s not just black Americans who are being used as pawns in the ever increasing power grab. Now, it’s illegal aliens. I’ve known quite a few Hispanics in my life, and of those, the majority were legal, many families went back generations. A proud people, who work hard, encourage their children to do well in school, and to be American. Not Mexican-American…..AMERICAN. They are legal citizens, just like the rest of us. Some families still live in the same areas as when they received land grants from the Spanish and Mexican governments.  These well spoken American citizens who have succeeded, living the American dream, the children, the first to graduate from collage, and now, some fool in a far away place want to tell them what they can, how much to pay their loyal employees, and even buy heath insurance for the 20 somethings who don’t really want it yet.  If I were these people, I’d be all up in the Democrats faces, letting them know that you are obviously much more well acquainted with how things work in the day to day world. It’s surely not the vision Washington, D.C. has in mind.

Yep, there are a lot of suck up, Obama is so wonderful, Krugman is “right On”, ect type comments.  If you have to the, browse through.  Some are extremely amusung in the idiocy.  Others are down right scary.  And these people, unfortunately vote!
