An Ol' Broad's Ramblings
URGENT! Citizens of Tennessee!
Unfortunately, we won’t be able to make it to Nashville tomorrow, but that won’t stop me from speaking out against ANY elected official that puts Obama and his agenda before the well being of the citizens of Tennessee!
The Healthcare Freedom Act (HB3433) is in danger of not passing this year in the Tennessee House of Representatives! Your help is urgently needed today to make sure Tennessee stands with other States against the federal takeover of our healthcare!
The Healthcare Freedom Act, sponsored by Rep. Bell, is currently in the TN House Industrial Commerce Subcommittee, which is evenly split between 6 Republicans and 6 Democrats. HB3433 is scheduled to be voted on this coming Wednesday, March 31 at 10:00am. Here are two things we desperately need you to do:
Step 1: TODAY, Contact subcommittee members and Speaker Kent Williams by email, phone, or letter – very politely urge them to vote in favor of the Healthcare Freedom Act (HB3433). Representative Bell’s office has told us they do believe that one or more of the Democrats on the Subcommittee could be persuaded into voting for HB3433 if contacted by concerned citizens throughout the state. To pass HB3433 either one or more Democrats must vote for the bill or the Speaker of the House Kent Williams must come to the meeting and vote. Kent Williams is a co-sponsor of the bill, so he might be persuaded to attend as well if we urge him to do so.
Step 2: Come to Legislative Plaza on Wednesday, March 31 to show support for the bill! This show of support has a huge impact on the members sitting in committee. The committee meets at 10am, but we would prefer all supporters meet on Legislative Plaza by 9am so we can distribute stickers to wear in support of HB3433 and so we can be sure to fill that committee room with as many supporters as possible. Other bills proposed by Rep. Susan Lynn will also be voted on – these are extremely important bills protecting Tennesseans from some of the negative effects of Obamacare.
Signs will not be permitted in the committee room and everyone who is inside must remain silent during the proceedings unless the floor is opened for us to speak. We are observers of the committee, and it is our presence there that speaks for us. Feel free to wear your tea party or other political clothing if you wish.
Other groups are planning to visit the Attorney General directly after the committee meeting. Stick around for that, and remember that we must politely but persistently urge them to do what is right for Tennessee and Tennesseans.
Suite 19, Legislative Plaza, Nashville, TN 37243-018
Urge Speaker Williams to attend the committee and Vote For the Bill – he is a co-sponsor and is allowed to vote in the committee!

Attorney General Bob Cooper Bob.Cooper@ag.tn.gov
Tell him you want him to bring a lawsuit against the federal government NOW, not later. Health Care is not a delegated power of the federal government under the U.S. Constitution. Beyond that, any mandate forcing citizens to purchase health care violates Art. 1, Section 1 & 2 of the TN Constitution “That the government being instituted for the common benefit, the doctrine of nonresistance against arbitrary power and oppression is absurd, slavish, and destructive of the good and happiness of mankind.”
