Proud To Be A Native Texan
At least ONE governor is speaking out against this disaster they call ‘health care’, that has nothing to do with health or care! Governor Rick Perry of Texas, my place of origin (residence for the majority of my life, and once a Texan, ALWAYS a Texan), is one:
“Unfortunately, the health care vote had more to do with expanding socialism on American soil than it does fixing our health care finance and delivery systems. The Obama health care bill undermines patient choice, personal responsibility, medical innovation and fiscal responsibility in America.
“As passed by the U.S. House, the bill will cost Texas taxpayers billions more, and drive our nation much deeper into debt. Congress’s backroom deals and parliamentary maneuvers undermined the public trust and increased cynicism in our political process.
“Texas leaders will continue to do everything in our power to fight this federal excess and find ways to protect our families, taxpayers and medical providers from this gross federal overreach.” (source)
From the governor of my current state of residence, Tennessee, as of Monday, March 22, 7:35am, Governor Phil Bredesen:

FINAL VOTE RESULTS FOR ROLL CALL 165
Thank you, Marsha! It’s a shame 219 of your fellow Congressional members could care less what their constituents, aka THEIR BOSSES, say. Perhaps they should be……………
FIRED!
Breaking (with Update)
Houses Passes Sweeping Health Care Reform Bill 219-212
I don’t think they know exactly what they have done.
Updated.
Warning: Language alert likely!
After a harrowing day that saw a bloc of pro-life Democrats agree to compromise on abortion language, House Democrats cemented a victory for President Obama with a 219-212 vote for the Senate’s massive health insurance overhaul.
Is there any possibility that there is a bit of common sense left in Washington, D.C.? Highly unlikely! You see, I’m afraid the Democrats have opened a can of worms and they won’t know how to put them back in. That Pelosi bitch evidently believes she is entitled to be in charge of our lives, and Obama has shown he is nothing more than a tool of the libs>progressives>socialists>commies. The Constitutionality of their actions are highly questionable, and I’ve no doubt that there will be many states joining Virginia in their lawsuits.
“We all know, and it’s been said over and over again, that our economy needs something, a jolt and I believe that this legislation will unleash tremendous entrepreneurial power to our economy,”Pelosi said. “Imagine a society and an economy where a person could change jobs without losing health insurance, where they could be self-employed or start a small business. Imagine an economy where people could follow their passions or their talent and without having to worry that their children would not have health insurance.”
The level of my anger right now is such that, against my better nature, I am actually wishing HARM on that scum sucking plastic faced whore! God forgive me!
Snow? Seriously?
Almost halfway home. Snowing off and on since I left Jackson

Today Everything Changes in America
by J. D. Longstreet
America, as we knew it, ceases to exist today (Sunday, March 21st, 2010). You may think that is an overly broad statement, a statement that just isn’t so. But, I would assure you it is, if anything, an understatement!
Today the socialists in the US House of Representatives will pass (or, by the time you read this tome, will have passed) National Healthcare Reform – that which we have chosen to refer to as ObamaCare. It will forever have HIS name on it as well it should, because it was his campaign to “fundamentally change America” and his use of the ignorance of most publicly educated Americans that brought us to this reintroduction of slavery in America. Yes, ObamaCare, by any other name, would still be slavery. Why? Because it is pure, flat-out, socialism, and socialism is the enslavement of a people until communism takes over a nation’s government.
Jammie Party
Since I was beyond exhaustion last night, I had no choice but to wait till this morning, after not nearly enough sleep, to post the pics from last night’s Jammie extravaganza. Deal with it!
This was a trip. Since I was already brain dead by this point, I failed to get pictures of some of the more outrageous get-ups. Heh. We spent most of the time in the Karaoke room. Don’t ask me why! Hey, at least we were able to sit down….which was the best reason in the world to be in there. Actually, some of the ladies that got up to stretch the ol’ pipes were DAMN GOOD! Seriously amazing! Others? Hmmmm…. not so much. As Barb said, “Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.”
And believe, the ability to get up on a stage, does not mean you actually SHOULD get up there. Heh. Actually, tiaras off to the ladies, and a couple of gentlemen, who did. Guts! I don’t have ‘em. And I was sober.
Saturday in DC
Well, at least we were able to escape for the ugly reality of the Democrat controlled America!
Missed a Couple
Now, while I didn’t take any pictures while we were walking in the parade, someone else did….Julia?
We were gettin’ our queen wave perfected a bit. Who knew there were muscles in your arms, specifically for that type of wave? Where’s the Ben Gay?
Notice the nice wide street, with the nice polite folks BEHIND the barriers! Would have been REAL nice if it had been that way the whole parade. sigh…
Then, we have Suzanne. Suzanne had a whole lot more energy towards the end of the parade, than most of us had at the beginning. There has got to be something wrong with that….isn’t there? Doesn’t quite seem natural, while we were all dragging hind end, just searching for the end, she’s bounding and bouncing all over the place.
There was some pretty good music blaring near by that just screams…”ya gotta dance…makes some moves!” Well, one young lady was doing just that…shakin’ it for all it was worth. Naturally, Suzanna being Suzanne, she couldn’t let the little one dance all by herself, right?
Problem is, once she got down there, she couldn’t get up. Those boas are dangerous! Heh. Trapped under a tiny foot, and you’re stuck for a while.
I do have pictures of the SPQTM Pearls & Pj’sTM Party and Karaoke Kontest, but they’ll just have to wait till the morning. That bed over there is calling my name, and Jasper is patting the mattress. I think he’s trying to tell me something. Yes, at this time of night, after an extremely LONG day, Jasper fusses at me. He knows I have no business being up at 2:15 in the morning, when I have a long drive ahead of me tomorrow! Ya never wanna piss off Jasper!
The BIG Parade
Jackson celebrates 28th year of St. Paddy’s Parade
The 2010 edition rolled with the theme “It Ain’t Easy Bein’ Green,” and boasted a 30-foot-tall inflatable Kermit the Frog as its grand marshal.
The unique event often toasts Mississippi endeavors (state native and Muppets creator Jim Henson this year) and also serves as a fun public venue for political wit and outrageous costuming.
There was a theme? Uh…. ok.
Being towards the end, I had no idea. I sure didn’t see any 30 foot frog!
Anyway, we headed on over to the hotel to catch a coach with THOUSANDS of other Sweet Potato Queens, “virgins”, like us, and “sluts” (repeat attendees), alike. What a hoot! I’m just going to let the pictures speak for themselves!
This is from HR 3200, but nothing much has changed, so this is still relevant.
Smart Girls With Queen Jill
Now, I really AM going to bed.

SGP Meets SPQ
Ok, the suspense is over Chris! If there was any doubt about my ability to laugh at myself, let all be dispelled….NOW!
If ya didn’t know, I am one of MANY very SMART GIRLS! As in Smart Girls Politics. Well, someone had this really bright idea, back at the SGS09 that we should all get together and march in a parade. Sounds simple enough, right? Little did I know…. Heh.
Well, the Smart Girls are meeting the Sweet Potato Queens. All weekend!
Criminals!

The Foundry
This week, NBC News and The Wall Street Journal released poll results that are disturbing but by no means surprising. The March 11th – 14th poll of 1000 American adults showed that only 17% of respondents approve of the job Congress is doing in Washington. And as bad as that number is, the reason why Congress’ approval rating is so low is even more disturbing: a full 76% of Americans simply do not trust the U.S. Congress. This was the lowest level of trust for any representative entity tested by NBC/WSJ.
An Embarrassment
Now for the Slaughter
On the road to Demon Pass, our leader encounters a Baier.
by Peggy Noonan
Excuse me, but it is embarrassing—really, embarrassing to our country—that the president of the United States has again put off a state visit to Australia and Indonesia because he’s having trouble passing a piece of domestic legislation he’s been promising for a year will be passed next week. What an air of chaos this signals to the world. And to do this to Australia of all countries, a nation that has always had America’s back and been America’s friend.
How bush league, how undisciplined, how kid’s stuff.
You could see the startled looks on the faces of reporters as Press Secretary Robert Gibbs, who had the grace to look embarrassed, made the announcement on Thursday afternoon. The president “regrets the delay”—the trip is rescheduled for June—but “passage of the health insurance reform is of paramount importance.” Indonesia must be glad to know it’s not.
I gotta be honest. When I heard that he had postponed the trip the first time, I was thinking….”kind of rude”. Countries that have visiting dignitaries from other countries have to do a whole lot of preparatory work, to unsure the safety, etc. of the ‘dignitary’. The logistics must be a nightmare. When I heard he postponed it a second time, my first reaction was the same as Ms Noonan’s. “HOW EMBARRASSING!”
Thursday’s decision followed the most revealing and important broadcast interview of Barack Obama ever. It revealed his primary weakness in speaking of health care, which is a tendency to dodge, obfuscate and mislead. He grows testy when challenged. It revealed what the president doesn’t want revealed, which is that he doesn’t want to reveal much about his plan. This furtiveness is not helpful in a time of high public anxiety. At any rate, the interview was what such interviews rarely are, a public service. That it occurred at a high-stakes time, with so much on the line, only made it more electric.
What it revealed to me is that he is nothing more than Jimmy Carter II, just more so, and a whole lot more dangerous to the country as a whole.
In referring to the now, infamous interview:
That having been said, the Baier interview was something, and right from the beginning. Mr. Baier’s first question was whether the president supports the so-called Slaughter rule, alternatively known as “deem and pass,” which would avoid a straight up-or-down House vote on the Senate bill. (Tunku Varadarajan in the Daily Beast cleverly notes that it sounds like “demon pass,” which it does. Maybe that’s the juncture we’re at.) Mr. Obama, in his response, made the usual case for ObamaCare. Mr. Baier pressed him. The president said, “The vote that’s taken in the House will be a vote for health-care reform.” We shouldn’t, he added, concern ourselves with “the procedural issues.”
Shouldn’t concern OURSELVES with procedural issues? What is he? Queen Victoria? He might not concern himself with the legalities of how they go about shoveling sh*t, but I can assure you, a WHOLE lot of us, our here in the REAL world, do.
Further in, Mr. Baier: “So you support the deem-and-pass rule?” From the president, obfuscation. But he did mention something new: “They may have to sequence the votes.” The bill’s opponents would be well advised to look into that one.
Mr. Baier again: So you’ll go deem-and-pass and you don’t know exactly what will be in the bill?
Mr. Obama’s response: “By the time the vote has taken place, not only will I know what’s in it, you’ll know what’s in it, because it’s going to be posted and everybody’s going to be able to evaluate it on the merits.”
I doubt the man could give a straight answer to a simple straight question…like “What color are your socks?”
Presidents have a right to certain prerogatives, including the expectation of a certain deference. He’s the president, this is history. But we seem to have come a long way since Ronald Reagan was regularly barked at by Sam Donaldson, almost literally, and the president shrugged it off. The president—every president—works for us. We don’t work for him. We sometimes lose track of this, or rather get the balance wrong. Respect is due and must be palpable, but now and then you have to press, to either force them to be forthcoming or force them to reveal that they won’t be. Either way it’s revealing.
The Clown in Chief lost any credibility a LONG time ago. The media is supposed to push for answers, for the sake of the public….that would be US. That’s what their job USE to be! Today’s media is so up Obumbler’s hind end, they can scratch his ears when they itch. I should add, the lame stream lost credibility before he did. I, for one, think young Mr Baier did a fantastic job. He showed the rest how it’s SUPPOSE to be done. Remember that, Tingles!
While I don’t always agree with Ms Noonan’s views, a bit too moderate in some cases, I have to say, she is dead on (mostly) today. We don’t have a leader, we have a petulant child, with a brand new toy, and he’s going to play with it till it’s broken.
