The Facts Are Bad Enough

There really is no need to speculate, just yet. This column from The Washington Times is well worth the read.

Obamacare’s secret surveillance
The O Force wants government snooping on you

Honestly, I’m not much into conspiracy theories. As Cuba Gooding, Jr’s character said in Jerry McGuire, “Show me the money!”  Oh, I can speculate in my own way, with the best of ‘em, but that would be opinion, not ‘theories’ based on speculation, and bits and pieces.

This gadget, RFID chip, that so many are talking about, as mandatory, is not. At least, not in the bills I read. However, is it really such a stretch, that an administration such as we have right now, would want, at some time in the not too distant future, to implement such a ‘mandatory’ requirement? I mean, after all, this is the same bunch that wants to be able to track you by your cell phone. :?

They actually wouldn’t need to implant such a thing in your bod.  They can quite easily stick it in your new pair of jeans, those over priced sneakers, or even your wallet.  So, perhaps we should all be working on getting these fools out of office, before I find some little bitty metal thingy attached to the hind end of my new britches, K?

Here’s a solution to all the controversy over full-body scanners at the airports:

Have a booth that you can step into that will not X-ray you, but will detonate any explosive device you may have on you. It would be a win-win for everyone, and there would be none of this crap about racial profiling!  This method would eliminate a long and expensive trial.  Justice would be swift. Case Closed!

This is so simple that it is brilliant.  I can see it now………you’re in the airport terminal and you hear a muffled explosion. Shortly thereafter, an announcement comes over the PA system, “Attention standby passengers: we now have a seat available on flight number…………”

….isn’t that interesting!  See?  We told y’all.  Democrats LIE! And the lame stream media is the BIGGEST liars of the bunch!

Video – Rep. Cleaver on spitting incident: ‘ I never reported anything’

A Fox News affiliate in Kansas City interviewed Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (h/t Greg Re at the Daily Caller), a Missouri Democrat, about the alleged spitting incident that many claim happened to him when he was walking to the Capitol during the final days of the health care debate in the House. A number of Democrats and liberal organizations are calling the incident an attack or assault, but Mr. Cleaver seems to be backing away from the story in general. Fox News reports:

“I haven’t talked about this incident on TV or anywhere, and I’ve been approached to talk about it on every national TV show,” said Rep. Cleaver in an interview with FOX 4 News. “I never, I never reported anything, never a single thing in Washington, not one thing. People assume I went somewhere, never done press conference, never done an interview on it and I’m not going to do it.”

Rep. Cleaver’s refusal to discuss the incident has not stopped the speculation, including claims that the incident never happened, or that the story was manufactured to discredit conservatives who demonstrated against health care reform.

Rep. Cleaver says that he wants to put the incident behind him.

“All I’m saying is we all have to diffuse it, and I think it is not in my best interest or in the best interest of this nation to stoke it,” said Rep. Cleaver. “I’ve avoided doing and I will continue to do it.”

The man should have spoken up long before now, and diffused the situation! It was in HIS hands, and he didn’t.

HEY!  SPICE!  You owe ME an apology!

One conviction, one acquittal in Toste murder trial

Sonoma County jurors Friday convicted one man of second-degree murder and acquitted another in the 2006 slaying of a man in a downtown Santa Rosa parking garage.

After about two days of deliberation, jurors found Joseph Kenneth Lopez Jr., 21, guilty of shooting Matthew Toste, a 32-year-old construction worker, during a midnight confrontation that erupted over lewd comments made to Toste’s date and another woman.

Co-defendant Paul Louis Whiterock, 30, who also was charged with murder for allegedly helping Lopez get away, was cleared of all charges. He was expected to be released later in the day after more than 22 months in jail.

Both men were charged with first-degree murder.

First-degree murder.

And, to think that I, at one time, defended this piece of crap, against some other piece of crap? Never again CongressCritter Cohen. NEVER again! I guess because you grew up in New York, you think you know everything there is to know about the South, eh? WRONG! You’ve never heard the grownups whispering about another black man found hanging from a tree! You never saw the ugly BIGOTRY of the Democrats….YOUR party Congressman! YOURS! How DARE YOU!

Send Cohen back to New York, with his limousine lib buddies!

Somehow, I don’t think these so called” journalists” have a clue about history.  If they did, perhaps they wouldn’t be so quick to condemn, and SMEAR, people who are working so hard for THEIR freedom as well.  I suppose it never occurs to them they are the racists?  The bigots?  The anti-American?  ……………………………………………………………………………….. Naw….they’re libtards, plain and simple.

A couple of examples:

“Forty-five years ago, John Lewis began the third of what became society-shifting civil rights marches from Selma to Montgomery, Ala. On Sunday, the anniversary of that famous trek, he joined hands with fellow House Democrats and marched past jeering protesters into the Capitol to remake the nation’s health care system….Mr. Lewis said he was not intimidated as he walked to the Capitol with his colleagues, including Ms. Pelosi. In 1965, Mr. Lewis was bloodied and beaten by the police as he marched for civil rights.”

Congressional reporter Carl Hulse, March 22.

I wonder if Mr Hulse knows it was those same types of Democrats, who walked arm and arm with Mzzzzzzzz Pelosi, that are the ones who had “bloodied and beaten” Mr Lewis? And it was the same type of people he now smears who fought for those civil rights?

“The far-right extremists have gone into conniptions. The bullying, threats, and acts of violence following the passage of health care reform have been shocking, but they’re only the most recent manifestations of an increasing sense of desperation….Even the optics must be irritating. A woman (Nancy Pelosi) pushed the health care bill through the House. The bill’s most visible and vocal proponents included a gay man (Barney Frank) and a Jew (Anthony Weiner). And the black man in the White House signed the bill into law. It’s enough to make a good old boy go crazy….Instead of jettisoning the radical language, rabid bigotry and rising violence, the Republicans justify it.”

Columnist Charles Blow, March 27.

Nancy Pelosi is a woman? Who knew?  I wasn’t aware that women had HUGE, hairy, brass balls. But hey, I don’t know everything.

Bullying tactics? Waving the Constitution of the United States, flying the Flag of the United States of America. and the Gadsden flag, holding signs that says “KILL THE BILL!” Yup….those ol’ American citizens, demanding their so called reps in Congress….you know, those whose SALARIES are paid by the taxpayers…how dare they?? Oh, and that ‘gay man’ (who gives a flip?), and the ‘Jew” (so?) don’t even know what’s in the bloomin’ bill!  And neither does that ‘black man‘ (what about the white half?) in the White House.  Ever notice that it’s the LEFT who is constantly pointing out these things?  The rest of us?  Not important in the grand scheme of things.  For us, it’s all about the ‘content of character’.   For the left?  It’s all about dividing.  Oh yeah, and let’s not forget about those acts of violence.

Just sayin’.

Welcome to the Obama Dependency Economy
The Foundry

Today the Labor Department’s Bureau of Labor and Statistics released its monthly jobs report showing that the nation’s unemployment is 9.7% for the third month in a row. While the jobs report does indicate that 162,000 net jobs were created in March, almost 50,000 of those jobs were temporary government Census jobs that do not reflect any real economic progress. In total, the U.S. economy has now lost a total of 3.8 million jobs since President Barack Obama signed his $862 billion stimulus plan. We are 8.1 million jobs short of the 138.6 million he promised the American people.

Good Friday

(Leaving this one top all day.  Any new posts will be below.)

Growing up, attending church, I always asked just why it was called Good Friday.  From what I knew at the time, as a child, it didn’t sound very ‘good’ to me.  As a matter of fact, it sounded horrible.  No one ever gave me a satisfactory answer.  Perhaps they thought I wouldn’t understand?  I was too young?  Honestly, NO ONE is ever too young for the Truth.

So why call it ‘Good Friday’?

Meeting With Corker Field Rep

2 April 2010, 6:41 am. Comments Off. Filed under Opinion, Politics, Senate, Taxes, Tennessee, U.S. Constitution.

One of the issues of life that got in the way yesterday, and kept me off the computer most of the day was a meeting with Senator Bob Corker‘s field rep, Nick.

Honestly, he seemed a nice enough guy, but seriously? Ok, he was young, but I would have thought he was experienced at relaying information about his boss’ stand on any given issue. Sadly, I didn’t get the impression he was quite up to speed. Perhaps that’s just me?

The ladies asked him several questions, mostly relating to the health care fiasco, especially about the lawsuits. His response?  And I’m paraphrasing here, “I don’t think it can be repealed, but perhaps, some parts can be overturned.” Is that Senator Corker’s stand, or was it just this young man’s opinion? I never could discern. The bill is UNCONSTITUTIONAL, fer the love of Pete!  The whole thing needs to be overturned, and put on the burn pile!  Both Senators Corker and Alexander should be leading the fight to pressure the Obama supporting state AG, and Governor Bredesen to push for repeal, AND assert our 10th Amendment rights.

To be perfectly honest, I wasn’t satisfied with any of Nick’s rambling responses to the questions. He never directly answered any questions. At least not in my opinion. He’d make a pretty good Democrat politician. :? I did try to take notes, but there was really not much to write down.

The issue of the Senator working with Chris Dodd on the finance reform bill did come up.  While I was appalled that anyone with an ounce of sense would agree to actually work WITH such a weasel, I did understand that at least the Republicans were trying.  From Corker’s website:

“For the past month Chairman Dodd and I have worked together, along with our colleagues, to craft a bipartisan financial regulatory reform bill,” said Corker. “I believe the past month has been very constructive. Many members of the committee, from both sides of the aisle, have made their imprints on the legislation, and the bill Chairman Dodd will introduce on Monday will be closer to a consensus package because of our efforts.”

“Despite the work of the past several weeks, the bill that will be introduced on Monday will unfortunately not be done so in bipartisan way. Sadly, I fear that in order to pass their health care bill, this administration is willing to crowd out every other important issue our country faces and financial regulatory reform bill may be the latest casualty.”

Pfft! I don’t know why the Republicans even make the effort. When this country goes down in flames, the blame will lie solely on the Democrats. Hopefully, the grownups will still be around to pick up the pieces.

Nick did, however, give Senator Corker a glowing review on his votes against the Tax and Control bill, which were all in the negative. Corker introduced an amendment requiring the entire Senate to be subject to the same laws that are in the bill, as in they must all be on Medicaid too. Obviously, it was shot down. Heaven forbid Congress should ever have to live by the same rules they would impose on the masses. Hmm….sounds a bit like tyranny to me.

I was able to ask a question about border security. To be honestly, I couldn’t tell you if Corker is for, or against, securing the border. I’m fairly sure he is concerned with our security, but perhaps the next time he sends someone to speak on his behalf, he should send someone a LOT more knowledgeable? Just a thought. There were several who kind of liked my idea of piranhas and gun turrets, but you know how those right wing radicals are….always wanting a safe and secure America, for Americans!

One thing that did bother the heck out of me. While this young fella was not a riveting speaker, and did tend to get off topic, that was NO excuse for those in attendance to start yammering amongst themselves. It was extremely rude, and quite loud. Even though I was sitting one table over from the speaker, I couldn’t understand half of what he said. So, for THAT I will apologize to both Nick, and Senator Corker. NO excuses!

TN HJR0744 Passed

2 April 2010, 5:47 am. 3 Comments. Filed under Israel, Tennessee.

Yesterday, the Tennessee House of Reps passed H.J.R.0744.

Which bill is this you asked? Well, since it was unanimous, obviously, it had nothing to do with health care. No, this was a different sort of resolution.  The meat:

WHEREAS, the Lord of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob promises in Genesis 12:3 to bless those that bless Israel: “I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.”; and

WHEREAS, the State of Israel and the United States each continue to experience terrorist attacks on innocent civilians, as well as our military personnel, as a result of suicide missions and other forms of terrorism; and

WHEREAS, at this time of continued uncertainty in the world, Tennessee again desires to re-affirm its friendship with the Nation of Israel by expressing its unequivocal support for the State of Israel; now, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE CONCURRING, that we hereby offer Tennessee’s support, compassion, blessings, friendship, and esteem to Israel, and declare that we remain steadfast in our support of the State of Israel.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an enrolled copy of this resolution be forwarded to the President of the United States, the United States Congress, and the Israeli Embassy in Washington D.C. for transmission to the proper authorities in the State of Israel.

Perhaps I would have added, “Whereas, the current administration has made it know his great disdain for Israel, the people of Tennessee apologize to their friends and allies for his rude behavior.”

But then, that’s just me, cuz……..
