Pentagon may dump evangelist for insulting Islam
The Army is considering whether to rescind an invitation to evangelist Franklin Graham to appear at the Pentagon amid complaints about his description of Islam as evil, a military spokesman said Wednesday.
Graham, the son of famed evangelist Billy Graham, was to appear at the Pentagon on May 6 on what is the National Day of Prayer. He said he will be a guest of the Pentagon and will speak only if he’s still invited.
Army Col. Tom Collins said withdrawing the invitation “is on the table,” but no decision has been made. He said Army brass will have the ultimate decision on whether to pull the invite.

The Military Religious Freedom Foundation raised the objection to the appearance, citing Graham’s past remarks about Islam. Mikey Weinstein, president of the foundation, said the invitation offended Muslim employees at the Pentagon. He said it would endanger American troops by stirring up Muslim extremists.
It doesn’t matter what anyone does. Those murderous pig suckers will get stirred up if someone farts in the wrong direction. Why do we keep bowing to them, just like D’Bama? How ’bout y’all stand up for OUR side once in a while, eh?

The Obama administration’s game plan for passing their financial regulatory reform plan is clear: ignore the details of their bill, demonize Wall Street, and cast conservatives as the pawns of big bankers. But as Politico reports today, there’s a complication in their battle plan: “The Democratic Party is closer to corporate America — and to Wall Street in particular — than many Democrats would care to admit.”
Politico should be commended for acknowledging the left’s cozy ties with corporate America, but then they go on to write: “Some Democrats acknowledge that the legislation — and the harsh anti-Wall Street rhetoric — could cost them campaign contributions from the financial services sector in what is already shaping up to be a tough election year.” This is just flat wrong. As evidence and logic clearly demonstrate, the left’s harsh anti-business rhetoric and glee for expansive regulation is a boon to their campaign coffers. As USA Today reports, Goldman Sachs alone has given nearly $900,000 since January 2009 to congressional candidates, and according to the non-partisan Center for Responsive Politics, 69% of the firm’s contributions went to Democrats while 31% went to Republicans.

Napolitano: The Issue Is “Turn To Violence”
“The question is not ideology,” she told Fox News in a wide-ranging and lengthy interview. “We’ve always had groups on all sides that have held beliefs that are very strong and express them very vociferously.”
Instead, the issue is “the turn to violence,” according to Napolitano, who, as U.S. Attorney for Arizona at the time, helped lead part of the federal investigation into the Oklahoma City bombing.
“Whenever you go to Oklahoma City, you need to go to the memorial, and you need to walk through that museum,” she said Tuesday in a somber tone. “That will teach you the difference between those who are merely expressing themselves — loudly and with anger — and the violence that we must seek to prevent.”
That the head of Homeland Security would echo Bill Clinton’s not so subtle accusations, to me, is appalling. Although, after she dubbed me a possible “domestic terrorist”, I shouldn’t be surprised. This administration is using tactics I once believed had been left behind in the first part of the 20th century. While ol’ Janet is being a lot more careful in her wording, the message is fairly clear.

It’s no secret I love animals, especially cats. It’s no secret the Mr LOVES me. That’s how we ended up with four cats in the house, and a variety of come and go kitties that live on the porch. We’ve had 3 out there for quite a while. Mama, Snoops, her son, and Felix. I guess someone forgot to tell Mama that kids are real expensive, and to pace herself. She’s a rather small cat, so you’d think I’d have noticed she was BULGING before a week ago. I thought maybe I had some time to take her to the vet’s and, hopefully, find her a good home, one with a barn and lots of mice or some such.
I took their usual grub out for them, and thought I saw Felix’s leg in the bed. I walked over and imagine my surprise when what I thought was a leg, was an entire critter. FOUR OF THEM!

Bailout Bob Corker: At it Again
It’s not often the two Republican Senators from Maine safeguard the country from excessive government with more vigilance than a Republican Senator from Tennessee. But on the issue of Financial Reform, Sen. Collins and Snowe have become champions for the taxpayers — holding the line against more bailouts and bureaucracy — while Sen. Bob Corker continues to push the country toward permanent bailouts and a Washington regulatory scheme “one like we have not seen before.”
Big Government readers are well aware of Corker’s repeated attempts to cut a deal with “Countrywide” Chris Dodd. Despite signing a letter pledging to oppose the legislation, Corker is now taking to the airwaves denying the legislation contains a permanent bank bailout provision.
Neat trick Senator. Swear to your constituents that you oppose further bailouts and then push a bailout bill by simply saying it contains no bailouts.
Bob, Bob, Bob. Whatever shall we do with you? As one of your constituents, I would like to relay my TOTAL DISGUST!
Corker took to the Senate floor and said ” this fund that’s been set up is anything but a bailout. It’s been set up to, in essence, provide upfront funding by the industry so that when these companies are seized, there’s money available to make payroll and to wind it down while the pieces are being sold off. Now, a lot of people have said this is a Republican idea. There’s no question that this is something Sheila Bair has proposed. The FDIC wants to see a ‘prefund.’ The Treasury would like to see a ‘postfund.’”
Well, gosh Bob, now that you’ve decided to spend MORE of OUR money, in just one more government scheme, could you possibly explain to the people of Tennessee….you know…us ol’ buck tooth ignernt ‘uns…..just who are you representing? You see, we have been trying to tell you, and all of D.C., we are SICK of the constant interference, the excessive spending, the excessive bailouts! Enough is enough!
Isn’t that precious. Corker is praising the fact that the legislation empowers the federal government to “provide upfront funding” for its seizure of banks and breakup by the feds. Earth to Corker — conservatives support smaller government.
I’ve never considered either of Tennessee’s Senators as conservative, but I thought Corker was a bit closer to the conservative ideals than the liberal. Conservatives do not support more and more government, so I guess I overestimated him. I won’t make that mistake again!

Another Member Of “The Clueless Brigade” Heard From
Sometimes, you come across something so ignorant, ya just have to respond. I came across this letter in USA Today, and felt compelled to clue this “gentleman” in on a few things.
This country should give the “Tea Party” exactly what it wants: No more taxes (“Yes, I love taxes,” The Forum, Thursday).
Then, of course, all other services that are paid for by everyone else’s taxes shouldn’t be made available to members of the Tea Party movement.
That would include Social Security, Medicare or Medicaid benefits, our highway system, police protection, fire protection, public schools, libraries, and all other government agencies and entities that receive government funds.
We would soon see how long the Tea Party would survive in its own tax-free world.

CRIMINY! Where to even start!
It’s quite obvious that both the author of the original column, and Mr Rodriguez know NOTHING about the Tea Party movement at all!
No one has EVER claimed not to be in favor of some taxes, for national defense for example, or upkeep of the interstate system. This was the intent of the Founders.
The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes, duties, imposts and excises, to pay the debts and provide for the common defense and general welfare of the United States; but all duties, imposts and excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;
And believe me when I tell you, we are nothing, if not PRO Constitution. The word TEA comes from Taxed Enough Already….T.E.A. Get it? It’s really not complicated, but some folks just have to have things spelled out for them.
Now, a few of those items he named, are not typically paid for by federal tax dollars, but local funds. I won’t quibble about them. What Mr Rodriguez fails to grasp is that 47% of Americans don’t even PAY taxes, which means the burden is left to the other 53%. Oh, I won’t dispute those 47% file an income tax return (at least I hope they do) but not only do they get all the money paid in from their income back, a large chunk even gets MORE than they paid, by way of tax credits. Money they actually don’t deserve coming out of other hard working taxpayer’s pockets.
Mr Rodriguez also fails to mention the many who are on some kind of aid or another, AFDC or the like, have no income other than the aid, and STILL gets a few thousand on a check that says U.S. Treasury. By the way…WE are the U.S. Treasury.
And then we have Social Security and Medicare. Before anyone gets their knickers in a twist, NO, I do NOT want Granny to starve or die. However, these are two federal programs that should NEVER have been implemented, and should be fazed out ASAP. Instead of saving for retirement and rainy day illnesses, many in our society have become totally dependent on these programs. Which, if I’m not mistaken, was the intent when FDR pushed them. Both of these programs are broke. There is no money. There was NEVER a ‘lock box’. All those people who are paying into both right now, the 20 somethings, will get NOTHING in return.
So, you see Mr Rodriguez, you are way off base. You should stop listening to the main stream media, and attempt to educate yourself. It’s not paying taxes so much that we mind. It’s what those taxes are being used to fund that are pissing us off! A “stimulus bill” that is far from stimulating, a “jobs bill” that creates NO jobs, bank and car company bailouts because someone has forgotten that NO ONE, and NOTHING is too big to fail, and this tax and control “health care bill”, just to name a few. It’s a fact….like it or not….the higher the taxes, the few jobs to be had. Lower taxes, more jobs, more revenue for the federal gubmint. Once again….not that complicated.
Something else, perhaps you’d like to investigate, while you are educating yourself. The Tax Code, ALL 20 volumes of it!
I’ll bet you, Mr Rodriguez, dollars to donuts, that us evil capitalist types would survive a WHOLE lot better than you “head up Obama’s rump” types, on any given day. Tell you what….all the free market, Constitution loving, capitalist can move to the Southern part of the country, and all you socialist supporting Obamites can move to the northern part, and you can have California for free, and we’ll see which section thrives, and which one falls flat on it’s collective ass! K?
Dinner With Ann Coulter
On 29 May 2010, the Mr and I were suppose to be in Wisconsin. Well, something came up, and we won’t be able to make it this year. NEXT year, maybe. 
How often does a poor gal, living in Podunk, get to hear Ann Coulter speak? Well, at least in Tennessee. I don’t get to go to CPAC like a lot folks do, y’know. And honestly, after that Ron Paul fiasco (straw poll), I’m not all that sure I would want to. 
While I was at the Tea Party in Nashville last week, I happened to run into Ken (Blue Collar Muse), who is now working with Raising It Right. We got to chatting at his booth, and I happened to glance at the table next to his. Being the extremely nosy person I am, I had to look at the info provided. A raffle? For what? Dinner with Ann Coulter. Well, I don’t want to spend money on a chance to win something we all know I WON’T win. It also turned out they were selling tickets for said dinner too. Ah HA!
So, when I heard Ms Coulter was going to be coming to Tennessee, I realized this may be the only opportunity I’d ever get to see my snark hero! While some conservatives find her offensive, and ALL libtards find her completely offensive (truth hurts, doesn’t it), I, personally, find her to be as open and honest about today’s issues, with a sarcastic sense of humor, as anyone can be. In other words, a smarter, skinnier, much better looking, and richer, version of……………ME! Ok, I can dream, can’t I?

What if you went to school for 6 to 8 years to earn your medical degree? Suppose you had HUGE student loans to pay off as well as set up a practice and purchase the necessary equipment you need as a doctor to treat your patients properly — and suppose you had to submit to more training practically every year of your career to stay abreast of new treatments, new equipment, and new federal and state laws pertaining to your practice of medicine.
Just suppose you did all of the above and then wake up one morning to find that you were no longer a private physician, no longer a small business owner, no longer your own boss, but a government bureaucrat taking orders on how to practice medicine, how and with which government approved treatment plan you are allowed to treat your trusting patients. What would YOU do? Huh? I THOUGHT SO! You’d quit, right?

I, personally, know of doctors that have already retired, or are planning to retire, once ObamaCare goes into full effect. There are consequences for actions, and evidently, someone up in D.C. didn’t really think this whole thing through. If they all wanted to be doctors, so they could decide how to treat patients, then they all should have gone to medical school instead of law school, where the vast majority of them spent their money. (Hmmm….wonder if they all paid off their student loans?)
When the Obama administration, and those far left lib types in Congress claimed the A.M.A. supports the socializing of the medical world, they failed to mention that that organization has less than 30% of the doctors practicing in the U.S. as members. In 1935, they were completely against Nationalized Health Care. What changed?

Even though they are trying very hard to control what is available through a variety of sources, including the internet, right now, we have a great deal of information at our fingertips, and are far from the intellectually stunted masses, needing a ‘fuhrer’ to tell us what to think. If the left doesn’t like being compared to the Nazis, perhaps they should stop behaving like them?
