One Sided Discrimination?
Hastings College of the Law, part of the University of California, rightly prohibits student organizations from discriminating. A Christian group that bars non-Christian and gay students sued the school for denying it funding and access to its facilities. The Supreme Court hears arguments Monday in the case. It should rule in favor of Hastings.
Interesting. A Christian group should be barred from receiving funds because they are a……….Christian group? Well, basically, that’s what the suit is saying. Why would a non-Christian want to join a Christian group? Unless the intent is to disrupt. And honestly, demanding a Christian group accept gays, when if the groups is truly Christian, they couldn’t in good conscience because it would be against the Word of God. Actually, if the Supreme Court wants to uphold the U.S. Constitution, it should rule AGAINST Hastings.
To qualify for official recognition, and receive money from a publicly financed university, groups at Hastings are required to adhere to the school’s nondiscrimination policy, which says that official student groups cannot refuse membership on the basis of race, religion, national origin, sexual orientation or other prohibited factors.
IMHO, the Christian Legal Society should actually sue the school for discrimination against Christians, which they did! But that’s just me.
Under California law, it is illegal for postsecondary educational institutions that receive state money to discriminate on the basis of religion or sexual orientation. The school correctly determined that the law requires it to ensure that its student organization program does not permit discrimination. The school also has the right to pursue its own educational policy of promoting diversity and opposing discrimination.
That word “diversity” has pretty much destroyed society, and actually created MORE discrimination! Receiving state money, means the money comes from the actual TAXPAYERS. The state doesn’t have any money. Well, considering this is Kaliphonyia, the state has less than zero bucks.
Students at Hastings who want to join together in more exclusive arrangements are free to do so. They can form unofficial student groups. But Hastings is right that groups that bear its imprimatur, use its name and logo, and receive public funds must not discriminate.
Do the taxpayers oppose a Christian group upholding their faith? Why would they? Would the taxpayers be opposed to a Chess Club insisting on it’s members to play chess? Simplistic? Yes, but it really is that simple.
The Christian Legal Society is not being denied any First Amendment rights. It is being told that if it wants an official association with a public university and public money, it cannot deny gays, non-Christians or members of any other protected minority equal rights.
What is a ‘protected minority’? Are some people, groups, more equal than others? Do certain groups of people deserve more protection than others? Of course not, yet that is exactly what has been going on, and it’s is more divisive than anything I’ve seen in all my xx years. Obviously, I’m not a lawyer, but I do know right from wrong. Does Hastings? Does the author of this column?
I’m curious. Wouldn’t the Black Law Students Association be discriminatory? How about La Raza Law Students Association? The names of these student groups says exactly what they are, black and “the race” (one of the most racist groups in America, imho). Would either of these groups accept a ‘white supremacist’? If they don’t, will they be sued, too?

Two Radical Arab Terrorists boarded a flight out of London . One took a window seat and the other sat next to him in the middle seat… Just before takeoff, a U.S. Marine sat down in the aisle seat. After takeoff, the Marine kicked his shoes off, wiggled his toes and was settling in when the Arab in the window seat said, ‘I need to get up and get a coke.’ ‘Don’t get up,’ said the Marine, ‘I’m in the aisle seat, ‘I’ll get it for you.’
As soon as he left, one of the Arabs picked up the Marine’s shoe and spat in it. When the Marine returned with the coke, the other Arab said, ‘That looks good, I’d really like one, too.’ Again, the Marine obligingly went to fetch it. While he was gone the other Arab picked up the Marines other shoe and spat in it. When the Marine returned, they all sat back and enjoyed the flight.
As the plane was landing, the Marine slipped his feet into his shoes and knew immediately what had happened. He leaned over and asked his Arab neighbors… ‘Why does it have to be this way?’ ‘How long must this go on? This fighting between our nations? This hatred? This animosity? This spitting in shoes and pissing in cokes?’

According to a new poll by the Pew Research Center, public confidence in government is at one of the lowest points in a half century. Pew Research Center president Andrew Kohut writes in today’s Wall Street Journal: “A desire for smaller government is particularly evident since Barack Obama took office.” Last March, by 54% to 37%, more people said it was a good idea for the government to exert more control over the economy. Now, by 51% to 40%, a majority of Americans say they want less government control.
President Obama has always tried to cast himself as a centrist. During the 2008 campaign, he promised Americans he would cut their taxes, expand the military, and enact “a net spending cut” for the federal government. Lower taxes, a strong defense and shrinking the size of government; these are core conservative beliefs. Unfortunately, President Obama has completely abandoned them by raising taxes on lower-income Americans, cutting defense spending, and enacting a $862 billion failed stimulus.

Earth Day… a Celebration of the New Paganism

We are about to witness a worldwide pagan rite – the worship of the earth, the worship of Gaia, (Earth Mother). Earth Day is the worship of nature — rather than Nature’s God.
Though touted as, somehow, NEW, worship of the earth is likely the oldest religion on earth. Born of child-like ignorance, it has survived centuries and is, once again, robust and thriving among those people of earth who have lost their way and have reclaimed this form of paganism at the risk of their eternal souls.
I must tell you, I question whether one who subscribes to the Christian faith can take part in a pagan rite without committing sin. The Earth Day celebration is, in my opinion, a pagan rite. Celebrants of paganism can only be in league with the forces of evil.
But here we are, this week, celebrating the annual, global, orgasmic, daisy chain of paganism — Earth Day.

So, how did all this grass groveling start? Well, it seems this man, Democrat – Gaylord Nelson, (booted out of office by a Republican during the 1980 anti-Carter/anti-Democrat sweep in D.C) wanted to do what Democrats do….control the masses. He decided to focus on the planet. Considering the planet has survived for BILLIONS of years, without the help, or interference, of humans, I’m not real sure what he hoped to accomplish.
Earth Day worked because of the spontaneous response at the grassroots level. We had neither the time nor resources to organize 20 million demonstrators and the thousands of schools and local communities that participated. That was the remarkable thing about Earth Day. It organized itself. (source)
(But the Tea Parties are ‘astroturf’? *shakes head* Well, of course, we didn’t have the public indoctrination system, or the helping us out. We were told where to be on a certain date, all over the country, and we came! No one gives us credit for being a REAL grass roots effort. We didn’t have the alphabets, schools, and opinion spewers at all levels of media talking up our efforts. Reckon cuz we just want our country back?)
Now, I’m all for clean air, water, and earth. We actually need these things to survive, although humans have managed in the past to survive without them, they weren’t exactly a healthy bunch. Think Black Death, that decimated an estimated 30% to 60% of the world’s population. But turning the desire for a clean environment into a religion is, well, blasphemy, to be perfectly honest. And that’s what these folks have done. I’m sure that many of the participants aren’t even aware they are worshiping Gaia, or that they have been manipulated into buying the Gaia “theory”.

While not exactly surprising, even so called churches are promoting this pagan worship. Don’t the pastors remember the 10 Commandments? Exodus 20:3 clearly states “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” That includes Mother Earth. He made it, only He can destroy it! They even have their own ‘Vatican’ in the form of the EPA.
EPA’s Mission
The mission of the Environmental Protection Agency is to protect human health and the environment. Since 1970, EPA has been working for a cleaner, healthier environment for the American people.
Since 1970, the EPA has been taking more and more control over what you can do with you own property. If it rains real hard, and you get a ‘swamp” in your front yard, the EPA can decide it’s a ‘protected wet land’. Doesn’t matter if it dries up in a few days, they have spoken, so you can’t plant those trees, or put in a flower bed, etc. This isn’t an elected body, so how did they become so powerful they can regulate what you do with your own property? The property YOU bought, YOU paid for, and YOU pay taxes. Well, it IS in their bible, Communist Manifesto, Chapter 2: Abolition of private property. What better way to abolish private ownership of property than to regulate what a person can do with said property?
It’s nice of folks to go out and pick up garbage on the sides of the roads and such, thrown out by the feckless weasels that always assume someone else is going to take care of it for them, proving they don’t given a flying flip about the environment. Since I’m one of those people who never throws garbage out of my car, I have no guilt. I don’t even throw cigarette butts out the window. Like good citizens, we take our household garbage to the dump, and never allow it to fall out of the back of the vehicle, to smash on the road and cause a nasty mess. We keep our vehicles in good working order so they they don’t spew black crap out the tail pipe. We make efficient trips into town, there by saving gas.
On Sunday mornings, Sunday evenings, and Wednesday evenings, I am usually (if we aren’t out of town) sitting in my seat at Carmel Heights Baptist Church, worshiping the One True God! So, I guess that means I won’t be worshiping Planet Earth on April. 22.

Gates Warns U.S. Lacks Strategy on Iran Nukes
A memo from Defense Secretary Robert Gates to the White House warned that the United States lacks a nimble long-term plan for dealing with Iran’s nuclear program, according to a published report.
Gates wrote the three-page memo in January and it set off efforts in the Pentagon, White House and intelligence agencies to come up with new options, including the use of the military, The New York Times said in its Sunday editions, quoting unnamed government officials.
When I read this headline last night, my overly tired brain was having a hard time comprehending just why the Defense Secretary would be announcing such a thing to the world. After a good night’s sleep, I read it again, and I realized….it wasn’t that I was so tired that I couldn’t understand it. I’m STILL having a major problem grasping the idea that the DEFENSE SECRETARY would reveal to the world that we have become so weak that we can’t defend ourselves, or our allies. True or not…isn’t that, well….beyond STUPID?
White House officials Saturday night strongly disagreed with the comments that the memo caused a reconsideration of the administration’s approach to Iran.
“It is absolutely false that any memo touched off a reassessment of our options,” National Security Council spokesman Benjamin Rhodes told The Associated Press. “This administration has been planning for all contingencies regarding Iran for many months.”
This administration is one of the reason the world finds us weak! Those who would see us as rotting corpses, or under the thumb of Islam, are laughing at us. This does not sit well with me, and I KNOW I’m not alone. The only thing this administration has done is to open the door to all means of our destruction, from their “wealth redistribution”, to preventing our military from doing it’s job.
The U.S. is pressing for new international sanctions against Iran. The memo contemplates a situation in which sanctions and diplomacy fail to dissuade Iran from pursuing nuclear capability, the Times said.
Obama set a deadline of the end of 2009 for Iran to respond to his offer of dialogue to resolve concerns about Iran’s accelerated nuclear development.

Iran spurned the offer, and since then the administration has pursued what it calls the “pressure track,” a combination of stepped-up military activity in Iran’s neighborhood and a hard push for a new round of international sanctions that would pinch Iran economically.
Give me a break! The only people sanctions hurt are the ones who prefer not to live under the thumb of a repressive regime. “Stepped-up military?” What a joke! The hands of the military are being tied, and soldiers persecuted for doing their job!
Four senior administration officials told Congress last week that Iran is perhaps a year away from being able to build a weapon but that it would take two- to five additional years to turn the device into an effective weapon that could be launched against an enemy.
And I’ve got some ocean front property in Arizona. D’Bama is cozying up to Russia. Russia is aiding Iran in their pursuit of “nuclear energy”. Conclusion: D’Bama is helping Iran achieve it’s goals.
Iran claims its nuclear program is intended for energy production, not a weapon.
“All we really know is that Iran is widening and deepening its nuclear weapons capabilities, David Albright, founder and president of the Institute for Science and International Security, told the AP. “We don’t have any insight into what they’re thinking about doing — whether they’ll just live with a nuclear weapons capability which will probably include learning more about nuclear weapons themselves, or they’ll actually build them.”
This is the country, led by a raving lunatic, several actually, that wants to hurry up the return of the mahdi. Seriously? The administration is wondering about their intent? And Gates is letting them know, we can’t do anything about it? There are some things the public just doesn’t need to know, because the world knows too, including Iran.
I could be wrong, but in my personal opinion, you don’t show weakness!

Paula thought it was a real good idea for her and P/H to come pick me up. It was on the way, so it would typically make perfect sense….for most people, but this IS Paula we are talking about here. 
After giving her the info she would need to come straight to the hotel, I get a call. Not quite frantic yet, but I can tell it’s hovering around the edges….just a smidge. She is naming all these places she sees, a large number of hotels, and a Cracker Barrel. Now, logic might say that was the correct exit. Problem was, of all the hotels she named, mine wasn’t in the list. I specifically remember telling her the exit was 81B, several times. Well, after much going back and forth, it seems she heard 78 when I said 81. Yeah, I guess there quite a few hotels in eating places down that way. I remember seeing them all as I came in. Well, 20 minutes later, after much turning this way and that, they finally made it. They were able to find their way to the elevator, and rode all the way to the 3rd floor without getting lost. I was quite impressed! 
I’m Jealous!
Texas Fred has some great coverage of the Tea Party held in North Texas. Why am I jealous? Because “Thomas Paine” goes everywhere else. 
I’d love to hear that guy speak! We have some excellent speakers in Tennessee, but still.

Yes, such an amusing fellow, isn’t he. There’s just one problem. This is the year that the Bush tax cuts expire, so all you drooling acolytes who are cheering your measly refund, need to remember this next year about this time.
You see, we Tea Party folks KNOW these things, and you Obamites evidently don’t. You aren’t getting a tax cut. As a matter of fact, start looking for the tax on EVERYTHING start to go up. Are you people REALLY that stoooopid?

It’s Official!
The drivers around Nashville…..SUCK! Seriously, when you see someone with their blinker on, trying to move over, do you speed up to prevent them from merging? Most people don’t. They sure do around these parts. Are there a lot of New Yorkers here now? 
Naturally, since I was unable to get over, I ended up going south. Which would be fine if I had WANTED to go south. Then try to find an exit where ya could get back on the freeway, so I could get headed in the right direction! Pfft! 5 miles down the road, FINALLY. But of course, it couldn’t be simple enough to just exit, and take another turn, to get back on. Nooooooooooooo! Had to go a mile to find a parking lot. Sheesh.
Finally, back on the road, take the correct exit, and some truck decides I was in his way. He passes, no problem. Then slows down. I TRY to pass him…..he speeds up. Rinse and repeat, several times. Eventually, he moves over and I’m able to out of the ‘fast’ lane, leaving it to Mr Crawl Up Your Butt.
All is peaceful until some dumb broad, in an iiiiiity bitty vehicle thinks I want her in my back end. What is with these people?
I see my exit, turn on my blinker, start to merge over….and BOOM! A great big ol’ semi has a blowout! Right next to me. Rubber flying everywhere! Not much scares me, other than really BAD drivers, but that had my stomach coming out my nostrils! Luckily, I didn’t see any black marks on my truck, so I guess all is well. But lemme tell ya…big chunks of black rubber flying at your windshield will make a person use language not normally part of their vocabulary!
Murfreesboro isn’t very far from Nashville at all. You wouldn’t think so much could go on in such a short period of time, would you.
When I checked in, and was talking to the clerk, she upgraded my room to a suite. Cool huh! NICE room too. I guess she felt sorry for me.

….heading towards Murfreesboro. Yep. I’m gonna be pooped by the time I finally make it home!
