One Nation UNDER GOD!

Day of Prayer ruled unconstitutional

Annie Laurie Gaylor loves America, but she’s no fan of God.

She must be a very unhappy person. I guess her purpose in life is to make others unhappy.  And if she truly loves America, why is she doing her utmost to change it into something it was never intended?

She was thrilled Thursday when a federal judge ruled that the National Day of Prayer is unconstitutional.

“We are ecstatic,” said Gaylor, co-president of the Freedom from Religion Foundation, which advocates for nonbelievers. Gaylor’s group sued to overturn a federal law that requires the president to declare an annual day of prayer each year. United States District Court Judge Barbara Crabb of the Western District of Wisconsin ruled in their favor.

What is it about Wisconsin, that a small minority can slap the larger number of people in the face, on a daily basis, and they think it’s good?  If the state could kick out Madison and Milwaukee, it might just be a decent place to live.  Obviously, we didn’t think so.  We left!

Gaylor said the National Day of Prayer creates hostility toward atheists. She believes the law questions her patriotism.

I happen to disagree! BIG time! No one is hostile towards atheists. Actually, most Christians I know feel rather bad for them, because they don’t know the joy of knowing they are loved, no matter what!

“Our government is saying that we are not good Americans because we don’t pray,” she said.

The government isn’t saying any such thing! I might though. Obviously, this woman never learned the foundations of this country, and would rather see us become some place like Soviet Russia, where worshiping God was a crime.

In her ruling, Crabb noted that Americans always have disagreed about the role of prayer in public life. The judge noted that some delegates to the Continental Congress in 1774 wanted to open their sessions in prayer, but they were eventually overruled.

Really? Is that what the judge learned in school? Not one of the signers of the Constitutional, as far as I know, was an atheist. The Founders were quite vocal about their faith, but yet, one small group is telling us WE can’t pray for our nation, and it’s leaders? Lord know, THEY surely do need prayer!

The judge also acknowledged that prayer is important to many Americans, but she ruled that the government can’t endorse a day of prayer.

“In fact, it is because the nature of prayer is so personal and can have such a powerful effect on a community that the government may not use its authority to try to influence an individual’s decision whether and when to pray,” she ruled.

I hate to break to the judge, and the Freedom From Religion bunch, but the National Day of Prayer is not forcing anyone to pray. It was a day, set aside, for WE, as a Nation, to come together, UNDER GOD! If they don’t want to, that’s their business, but since people like this have been forcing the faithful underground, so to speak, this nation has taken a SERIOUS nose dive.  No where, in the U.S. Constitution does the phrase “separation of church and state” appear.

If we ever forget that we are One Nation Under God, then we will be a Nation gone under.

A Few Amatuer Videos – Nashville Tax Day Tea Party

One of these days, I might get the hang of this contraption. Hopefully, tomorrow I’ll be able to figure out how to get the really GOOD one of Mike Slater’s speech posted.

A Few Pics – Nashville Tax Day Tea Party

While I’m battling with one particular video, hoping to post it….eventually, here are a few pictures from today’s Tax Day Tea Party in Nashville.  Right now, I’m suppose to be at Part 2 of the ‘festivities’, but honestly, I’m so tuckered, there was no way could have made it, even if I wasn’t battling an over sized video.

It was a pretty good event, although, I was extremely surprised there weren’t more people.  I found out later, there were a LOT who showed up at Legislative Plaza, and just gave up and left since there was nothing happening there, yet.  I don’t know who posted the erroneous information, but they should be smacked, and often.

Does anyone know anything about flip video cameras?  I have the absolutely BEST speech ever given at a Tea Party (Mike Slater), and can’t get the bloomin’ thing transferred to my computer.  And, if I can get it transferred, how do you split it in two?  This is a must see, but it’s not gonna do a bit of good if I’m the only one who can see it….on the camera.  :?

Money For Nothing

How Tax Day Became Payday
The Foundry

For just over half of all Americans today is Tax Day. But for the other half it is just another day on the calendar. That’s because they pay no federal income taxes. The old saying goes “you can’t get something for nothing.” But these “non-payers” receive government services and benefits without chipping in.

If more taxpayers continue to drop off the tax rolls, we will soon pass the dangerous tipping point where more than half of taxpayers are non-payers. The individual income tax is the main revenue raiser for federal government. Passing the point where less than half of taxpayers pay it would mean a majority of voters could vote themselves more and more government benefits without incurring any of the costs. In this unstable situation, politicians would have no incentive to restrain government spending since they could garner more votes by increasing it. That is a deadly recipe for never-ending increases in government spending that will inevitably lead to fiscal implosion when there are no longer enough productive taxpayers to foot the bill for the expanding state.

Socialist America
by J. D. Longstreet

Winston Churchill said: “Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.” In these few words Churchill summed up for us exactly what Obama and the Democratic Party of America are ramming down the throats of the citizens of the United States today.

We watched over the years as the US Democratic Party adopted more and more of the Marxist agenda and slowly transformed themselves from a freedom loving political party to a Socialist/Marxist party. I first became aware of this transformation in the 1960’s. Since then I have watched as the Democratic Party has slowly shed it’s façade until they now proudly proclaim their socialist agenda.

I understand that many Americans STILL have no idea what socialism is and, unfortunately, they have even less understanding of capitalism. At least two generations of Americans have been taught in the government indoctrination centers, we laughingly refer to as the Public School System, and in our institutions of higher learning, that being liberal, being progressive, is the accepted norm for Americans. They bought it. Apparently, nobody told them that words like “liberal” and “progressive” were cover words for “collectivism,” “socialism”, and “communism”.

Well, I have news for you. Socialism is not “American” by any stretch of the imagination. If fact, it is anti-American.

How was this deception introduced into American government? It was a Democrat President by the name of Franklin Delano Roosevelt who introduced socialism to America and embedded it in our government. He said: “Here is my principle: Taxes shall be levied according to ability to pay. That is the only American principle.” –Franklin D. Roosevelt

American, my Aunt Fanny! That’s PURE socialism!

There are way too many who are wearing blinders.  They seem unable, incapable, or unwilling, to take a good hard look at what is REALLY happening, led by the Marxist in Chief, and his minions in the media.

J.D. then adds:

Thomas Jefferson said: “To take from one, because it is thought his own industry and that of his fathers has acquired too much, in order to spare to others, who, or whose fathers, have not exercised equal industry and skill, is to violate arbitrarily the first principle of association, the guarantee to everyone the free exercise of his industry and the fruits acquired by it.”

Now, THAT is American!

Taking from those who worked hard to earn their wealth, and giving it to those who couldn’t believe they are OWED what they didn’t earn, is theft…plain and simple.  No one owes you squat!  Nothing.  Nada.  ZIP!  If you want to succeed, then work to succeed.

Glenn Beck 04/14/10 – The Plan (Part 3)

Should I, or Shouldn’t I?

14 April 2010, 7:43 pm. Comments Off. Filed under Opinion.

Evidently, someone thinks he is highly amusing, or quite clever. Well, I suppose it all depends on how you look at it, amusing in a pathetic sort of way would be how I would look at him.  Clever?  Not particularly.

Are you a Tea Partier? Take this test

I have created a test. If you score at least seven of 10, I suggest you draw an angry sign and attend the next local Tea Party rally to be held at the T-Bones ballpark (Community America Ballpark) in Wyandotte County the afternoon and evening of “tax day,” April 15.

Well, it seems that Wyandotte County is in Kansas. How do I know? I looked it up, of course. Sheesh! Having only driven through a small corner of Kansas once, I’ll be honest, I don’t know a lot about the place, other than what I learned in school. But I can find it on a map. :D

1. Do you listen to Darla Jaye on KMBZ radio in the evenings? Darla is the local voice for Tea Parties around here. If you love Darla, you will love Tea Partiers.

No idea who Darla Jaye is either, so I’ll just go to the next question. Would this be a no answer?

2. Do you listen to Glenn Beck, the national Tea Party radio host, who has become the figurehead for the movement? He is calling for a revolution of sorts against all non-conservatives, be they Democrat or Republican.

There’s a ‘national Tea Party radio host’? Why don’t I ever get these memos? Well, I watch him almost daily, and try to post the videos of his show on here, just in case someone missed it, or most especially if there is some information that liberals need to know, and are afraid to be caught watching Fox. Listen? Well, not very often. Maybe once every few months, I’ll connect through the internet, but other than that, not really. Has Glenn called for a revolution on the radio? Because I sure haven’t heard him calling for one on his TV show. I do know he has encouraged people to think, check out things for themselves, and to stop taking everything politicians, from both sides of the aisle, at face value. To learn the factual history of this nation, and find out what kids are being taught in school, so they can be given guidance away from the indoctrination process. The only figurehead the Tea Party movement has are the Founding Fathers, and the U.S. Constitution, of course. Not sure if this would be a yes or a no. :?

3. Do you doubt the Rev. Emanuel Cleaver, U.S. Congressman and former mayor of Kansas City, Mo., when he claimed he was spat upon by a Tea Partier? If you think this man of integrity is an outright liar, be sure to come out for the event.

I guess this guy didn’t get the memo where Rep. Cleaver said he wasn’t the one who started all this nonsense, and no one spat on the man. You’d think someone with a column in a newspaper would check their facts a little better. After all, he gets paid, right? Guess this could be a yes, considering it didn’t happen. I don’t doubt the man himself, I doubt the media that pushed the lie.

4. Do you want to “take back your country”? And, if so, from whom? We can only assume – despite objections by Tea Partiers – that this is code-talk for getting the nation back on track as a white, Anglo-Saxon country where everyone is expected to speak English, and where minorities do not deserve special privileges. If you feel that way, by all means, don’t miss the Tea Party.

Code talk? Really? We have a code now? Why doesn’t anyone ever tell me these things! And here, I thought we were trying to stop the fast spiral of our nation into socialism. You know, it’s not a bad idea at all, if you are going to live in a country, to actually speak the language of that country. They make you learn French when you live in France, and Spanish when you live in Mexico, so why not English in the U.S.A? Oh, and no one deserves special privileges. Everyone is entitled to succeed, or fail.

5. Are you passionate about shrinking the size of government and, thus, shrinking the budget, at the same time? If you can hold that view but also want to hold on to your Social Security and Medicare, think twice. We cannot shrink government while those two entitlements eat us alive – particularly Medicare. If you come to the Tea Party and holler for smaller government, you should be prepared to yell, “Dump Medicare!”

I’m all for dumping Medicare and Social Security! Two entitlement programs that have turned our seniors into, basically, wards of the state. SS was never meant to be anything more than a supplement for your retirement fund, NOT the only income a senior has! So, instead of people saving for their own retirement, the government has millions of dependents. If a person had been putting that sum taken out of their paycheck, and invested it wisely, they’d be getting a WHOLE lot more than what Uncle Sam dishes out. Medicare was another bad idea. Again, people are suppose to save for their own rainy day. Illness is definitely a rainy day. Medical savings accounts were a good idea, but went no where. So, yes, fazing out both programs is a good idea.

6. Are you generally angry about the way this country is headed overall? According to polls, two-thirds of Americans think we are on the wrong track. If you hold an extreme view on that subject – like we are heading for a collision of monumental proportions – do not miss the Tea Party. You will find lots of brethren there.

What a ma-roon! This is definitely a resounding YES!

7. If you readily admit that Tea Party crowds are virtually 100 percent white attendees, but you also are willing to claim that race plays no role in this movement, set April 15 aside and come on out.

I won’t admit that at all! I’ve met, and spoken to, quite a few people whose skin tone was a great deal darker than mine, and they are just as pissed. And NO, race plays NO roll in our anger. This is one of those “have you stopped beating your wife” type questions.  Once again, what a ma-roon!

8. If you think Barack Obama is a socialist, you may be a bona-fide Tea Partier.

Actually, no, I think he’s a bona-fide Marxist!

9. If you think Barack Obama was not born in the United States, by all means, come to the Tea Party.

He could have been born on the moon for all I care, I still don’t like his policies!

10. If you want to play an active role in political races, but you do not know the criteria for the people you want to elect, the Tea Party is for you.

I know exactly the criteria of people I want elected. None of them have a ‘D’ behind their name at the moment. If, and that’s a HUGE if, there were any conservative Democrats left, I’d have no problem voting for them, providing they were really pro-life, pro-U.S. Constitution (including that pesky 2nd Amendment), pro-low taxes, and pro-small government, I wouldn’t have a problem at all!

Let’s see….counting ‘em up….  Dang!  Looks like I shouldn’t be going to Tea Parties after all.  Interesting.  Well, no, not really.  You see, the questions are from a seriously clueless, or, perhaps, disturbed, mind.  How can a rational person take someone like this seriously?

Stevens: ‘I Never Left Sanity. Sanity Left Me’
by Ann Coulter

Two observations about retiring Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens are about to become established fact by sheer repetition. The first — that Stevens is the last Protestant on the court — is not true in any meaningful sense. The second — that Stevens didn’t move left, the court moved right — is madness.

While it’s true that there are no other Protestants on the court — now composed of six Catholics and two Jews, making the Supreme Court only slightly less diverse than cable news hosts, 75 percent of whom are Catholic or Jewish, but also include a Scientologist, a Mormon and a gay — it’s difficult to believe Stevens is any kind of Protestant.

Stevens is more like a pre-road to Damascus Saul. Or maybe the late Justice William Brennan.

It has been said that when asked during his confirmation hearings if he would follow his Catholicism or the Constitution, Brennan should have answered: “Neither.” (Only one senator voted against that cheap leprechaun. Guess who!… That’s right: Joe McCarthy.)

Ladies Day on the Hill

14 April 2010, 6:32 pm. 10 Comments. Filed under Conservative, Politics, Tennessee.

After a much needed nap, I am back at the computer.

To say it was an interesting day, would be an understatement.  Spending the entire morning, and portion of the afternoon, with like minded conservative women, is always a treat!

This morning, I arrived at the Capital in plenty of time………. to wait outside. Once the trooper opened the door at 8, and I went through security, I began looking for the rest of my group from Pickwick Republican Women, and anyone else from Hardin County, around the coffee area. Evidently, I was a LOT earlier than I thought. While I was standing there, looking like a lost puppy, I turned around and happened to a REAL familiar face! None other than Sue Lynch, who I knew from my “fighting hard for Republicans in Wisconsin” days. She just happens to now be the President of the National Federation of Republican Women. Well, naturally, we had to catch up! I’m afraid I monopolized a bit more of her time than I should have, but hey, you know how women are when they get to talking. I finally spied my group, did a few introductions, and chatted some more. I introduced her to my State Senator, Delores Gresham, then off Sue went to talk to Ron Ramsey. Told the Lt. Gov. he should do some of his auctioneering for her, but I guess he thought better of it. Since she was the featured speaker, someone came and guided her to wherever featured speakers go.

Well, at least until later this afternoon.  I’ll be gathering with mostly conservative women, to watch the TN legislature in action.  If it’s anything like the WI legislature, this should be both interesting, and boring.  :D   Nothing worse than an old man droning on…..and on…..and on…..and saying nothing at all.  But then, that’s what most politicians do, isn’t it.

A Tea Party Tidbit To Share

I received this email from Tea Party Patriots, and thought I’d share, in case you don’t get their updates:

Tea Party Infiltrators – Lions and

Tigers and Bears…Oh My!!!

Many have asked about the news that there may be “infiltrators” at tea parties around the nation.  A website (crashtheteaparty.org) was recently set up.  The creator, though he tried to hide his identity, has been outed; his name is Jason Levin, and he’s a middle school teacher in Beaverton, Oregon.  He’s on record saying that you might see some of his team in Nazi uniforms at your local tea party pretending to be racists and other offensive characters.  Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy doesn’t it?  And one has to ask the question; if tea partiers are racist, anti-Semitic homophobes, and it’s so obvious, why does he need to plant people who pretend to be those things at your tea parties?  Ah…leftist logic and tactics…there is no way to understand their twisted thoughts.  But you do need to know what the left is up to.
