Beware government ‘help’ that can actually hurt
Just when Tennesseans need it most, the law of supply and demand has been suspended. In the wake of the recent flooding disaster in Middle and West Tennessee, the state attorney general was quick to issue a news release warning Tennesseans “to be aware of potential price gougers.”
There is actually a state law that makes it “illegal to set prices that are grossly in excess of the price generally charged immediately prior to the disaster.”
This presumes that there is someone in the state government with the omniscience required to make such judgments. There is not, but the law is enforced and companies have been forced to make repayments in the recent past.
Governments often display a tremendous disrespect for price and believe that merely by controlling prices they can control costs. But real life doesn’t work that way.

Immigrants at Memphis rally aim for citizenship
With the Stars and Stripes the only kind of flag in sight, about 200 people convened at the National Civil Rights Museum Saturday to rally for immigration reform and to protest new immigration legislation in Arizona.
Well, THAT’S a welcome change! No Mexican flags! But perhaps if they had read the bill to the crowd, a great deal of misinformation would have been put to rest? Just a thought.
The goal was to push the federal government to pass fair immigration laws that protect the border and help workers here illegally to rectify their status, said Alfredo Peña with the Workers Interfaith Network, one of the organizers of the event.
Want to ‘rectify their status’? Send them home, and tell them to KNOCK on the front door, instead of barging in the back! Check out the Workers Interfaith Network’s website. On the ‘about’ page, and I quote:
While people of faith may not agree on every issue or doctrine, our religions all teach us that God desires justice, especially for people who are poor. We honor our Creator by seeking justice that enables workers to share in the fruits of their labor.
First off, if you are getting a paycheck, you ARE sharing in the fruits of your labor. Second, I’ve never read anywhere in the Bible where it says the poor are more entitled to ‘justice’ than anyone else. While I will agree that no one should have their wages stolen from them by unscrupulous employers, I don’t believe having “Stand For Social Justice” as your Google key words will get your any sympathy from NON socialists.
“We don’t want people to get deported. We want people to get the opportunity to continue to stay in this country,” said Peña, a native Texan.
Well, YOU may not want them deported, but I sure do! And I know of a great many other people, LEGAL immigrants, who do as well. Why should those who followed the rules, get a slap in the face by criminal invaders?
This fight is no different than the battles waged during the civil rights movement, said Beverly Robertson, president of the civil rights museum. “All of us have a duty and a responsibility to fight for what is right, what is just and what is fair,” Robertson said.
What a load of male bovine excrement! During the 60s, LEGAL citizens were being denied the right to vote, beaten and hung, BY DEMOCRATS. Their only crime, according to THE DEMOCRATS? They were black. To equate such vicious oppression with this ILLEGAL INVASION, is beyond pathetic, and an insult to those who fought so hard to be recognized by THE DEMOCRAT RACISTS as legitimate human beings, with all the Constitutional rights as everyone else.
Albino Lopez, 47, of Hickory Hill, moved his family here from Mexico 10 years ago. He worked in construction, but is now looking for a job, he said as his son, Ricardo, Lopez, 16, translated. “We want it (reform) to pass,” said Albino. “We want to be here legally.”
Gee, if you want to be here legally, then why did you sneak in the back door 10 years ago? How about you go home, and do it the right way, and we’ll welcome you with open arms! And while you’re at it, how about learning the freakin’ language! 10 years and you still haven’t bothered?
Organizers had hoped thousands would attend the event, which was rescheduled after deadly storms struck the Mid-South on May 1.
However, Peña said, many in the country without documentation are “terrified” that immigration officers could use rallies like theirs to find them for deportation.
I wish the hell they would! While not all attending these ‘aiding and abetting’ rallies are illegal, it’s a good bet, many are, and SHOULD be taken straight to the border, or airport, or boat, and returned home, at their home country’s expense!
Those gathered also denounced the new legislation in Arizona that makes it a crime under state law to be in the U.S. illegally. The law also requires law enforcement officers to question people about their immigration status if there is reason to believe they are illegal.
Psst! It’s also a FEDERAL crime to be in the country ILLEGALLY! And here we have MORE misinformation! READ THE DAMN BILL! It might also be a good idea to actually read the amendments too. Just sayin’. Cuz heaven knows, journalists wouldn’t want to report crap, now would they?
Nabil Bayakly, chairman of Muslims of Memphis, warned that after 9/11 and the passage of the Patriot Act, people of Middle Eastern descent were profiled.
More BS. The federal gubmint went out of its way NOT to profile “people of Middle Eastern descent”, but still have no problem with sending a 90 year old granny through numerous checks.
“Just because I’m not white enough that doesn’t mean I don’t belong here,” Bayakly said.
What an ass! And a bigot too! No one gives a crap about your skin tone! Are you legally here? Are you plotting to bomb something? Shoot someone? No? Well then, STFU!
Waving a huge American flag, Blanca Marez, 47, of Raleigh, questioned how law enforcement in Arizona will know who to target.
“I’m a born U.S. citizen but we’re Latino origin,” Marez said. “We shouldn’t have to prove anything, because you don’t know if I’m born here or not.”
Every time you get stopped by a cop for speeding, or any other traffic violation, you get asked for your driver’s license, and proof of insurance. This is a problem? No one in this country ILLEGALLY should have a driver’s license! So, yeah, you do have to prove something, no matter where you were born, when the cops asks for identity! LEGAL immigrants, non citizens are REQUIRED to carry their ID at all times!
It would really be nice if these people were more concerned with the safety and well being of LEGAL citizens and residents, than some criminals. But then, that’s the way of the socialists! Sadly, there are many who are being dragged down into the gutter with them, and they aren’t even aware.

The Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations is an antic joke. Their chairman has raised millions for various Obama campaigns and projects. In a moment of prideful boast he publicly assured those of us with doubts that President Obama would be “the first Jewish president.”

Tax Funded Criminals
An illegal immigrant with a long rap sheet got a $145,000 parting gift from New York City taxpayers before he was deported, after a federal judge ruled his civil rights had been violated when he was held too long on Rikers Island.
Federal rules allow local law enforcement to detain suspected illegal immigrants for 48 hours after their criminal cases are resolved, to give Immigration and Customs Enforcement a chance to pick them up and move them to federal facilities.
First, I would suggest that this ‘rule’ be changed, immediately. And second, why the hell aren’t the feds doing their freakin’ job?
Former Brooklyn resident Cecil Harvey, 55 — backed by an immigration-rights advocacy group — argued that his rights were violated when he spent more than a month in a Rikers holding pen before being transferred to ICE.
The guy is a criminal, in more ways than just being illegal, and of course, those who aid and abet criminals are right there in the forefront!
The landmark settlement has prompted the Correction Department to dump scores of illegal immigrants on the streets, since federal officials often fail to pick them up within the required two-day window.
So, there could be a murderous illegal alien gang banger, that was behind bars, but because the feds are too incompetent to pick him/her up, is now back, roaming the streets, free to commit even more crimes? Yeah, that makes a boatload of sense. 
Federal immigration agents have office space on Rikers Island, and the city allows them to interview roughly 4,000 inmates each year. They put a hold, or “detainer,” on 3,200 of those inmates who they discover are illegals.
If they are found to be illegal, they are criminals. Does New York make a habit of releasing criminals? Wait. Stupid question. Of course they do. Don’t you find the number of criminals that turn out to be illegals rather daunting? Yet, we are told, there is not really a problem, right? Pfft!
But ICE often fails to transfer those detainees within the required 48 hours of their criminal cases being resolved, multiple jail sources said.
I realize ICE is busy, but they should be scheduling a bus to pick the illegals up on a daily basis.
“We just release them now,” one high-ranking jail supervisor said. “It’s ICE’s problem to go find these guys.”
Yes, and they are so competent at doing that, aren’t they. Just take a look at the border states. 
So, because they may not have enough man power, due to lack of funds from our tax dollars, even though the majority of LEGAL citizens, and LEGAL residents want the illegal aliens dealt with, aka removed from our country, they actually PAID this clown?
