The U.S. Flag Is “Offensive”?????

We know all too well the agenda of a great many public school “teachers”, propagandizing, indoctrinating and not really teaching kids to use their noggins, but this is REALLY over the top! If I was the parent, I’d be demanding more than just an apology!

“Inherited”?

10 May 2010, 9:07 am. 1 Comment. Filed under Congress, Dhimmicrats, Economy, Male Bovine Excrement, Opinion, Taxes, The ONE.

I have received this in an email a couple of times recently, and thought it might be a good idea to post it here. There is no name as author, but it’s, none the less, accurate. I’ll just give a tip o’ the hat to both Tena and Jerry for passing it along.

I’m Sick of “Inherited”!

The Washington Post babbled again today about Obama inheriting a huge deficit from Bush, blah blah blah.  Amazingly enough, a lot of people swallow this nonsense. So once more, I’ll try a short civics lesson.

Budgets do not come from the White House. They come from Congress, and the party that controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democrat Party. They controlled the budget process for FY 2008 and FY 2009, as well as FY 2010 and FY 2011. In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases. For FY 2009, though, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barrack Obama could take office. At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the FY 2009 budgets (remember the pork?).

And where was Barrack Obama during this time? He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and he signed the omnibus bill as President to complete FY 2009. Let’s remember what the deficits looked like during that period:

If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the FY 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending. After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes Barrack Obama, who voted for the budgets. If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself.

In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is “I inherited a deficit that I voted for and then I voted to expand that deficit four-fold since January 20th.”

WAKE UP, AMERICA, BEFORE ITS TO LATE!

POTUS’ Pick For SCOTUS

Elena Kagan’s most notable foray into public life was kicking military recruiters off of Harvard’s campus

President Obama’s latest choice for the Supreme Court has held a number of high-profile jobs over the years, but she has left a relatively thin paper trail, with one major exception. As the dean of Harvard’s law school, Kagan fought to bar military recruiters from the university’s campus. Her reasoning? Even with two wars in progress, she contended, Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell should disqualify the US military from having any association with the school. “I abhor the military’s discriminatory recruitment policy,” she said, describing it as a “moral injustice of the first order.”

Critics say Kagan’s legal arguments on the matter are so preposterous that they raise doubts about her ability to serve on the bench. And indeed when the Supreme Court later rejected her position on military recruiting at Harvard, it did so unanimously.

Southern Pride

This is Confederate Memorial Day in North Carolina
…And I Have a Bone to Pick!

by J. D. Longstreet

Every year, when spring rolls around, you can count on numerous articles in the mainstream media, and elsewhere, reviling the Confederacy, and so-called Neo-Confederates, the Confederate Battle flag, Proclamations of Confederate History Month, etc, etc, … ad infinitum.

It never fails that Southerners are branded as “slavers” over and over, and readers are told how vile, and nasty, and ignorant, and just plain E V I L we Southerners are. Most of the ruminations by these writers and commentators are just plain garbage not backed up by REAL history but underwritten by revisionist history. In plain English — it is BOVINE SCATOLOGY!

I know what I am about to attempt to tell you will fall on mostly deaf ears because many of you anti-Southerners don’t want to hear it, will not hear it, and will continue to deny the truth simply because the facts do not fit your life’s template. TOUGH!

Yes, we had slaves in the South. But so did the north. In fact, the north ran the slave trade. Many of the fortunes of wealthy northeasterners today were built on the slave trade.

My family had no slaves. As sharecroppers there were times when the slave’s living conditions were, in fact, better than theirs!

And I am sick and tired of the anti-southerner’s vindictive claims that the War Between the States was fought entirely to free the slaves. That, dear reader is a bald-faced lie!

The misconceptions about the South have grown to biblical proportions. The LIES taught in public schools are enough to make any true Southerner extremely angry.

While you’re pondering the validity of the post, take a gander at this one as well!
