An Ol' Broad's Ramblings
A Few Items Worth Reading Today
I’m having a Monday. Actually, it seems that the “Monday mentality” has been invading for a while now. The further into the D’Bama administration we get, with the politicians in D.C. working very hard to destroy this country, I’m finding it more and more difficult to express an opinion on the most important issues of the day. After a while, a person runs out of ways to say “THEY ALL SUCK!”
It’s actually more serious than that. It’s not just that they suck, I’m actually starting to believe they are down right evil. Spawn of Satan! When you get a small number of people, creating such massive bureaucracies in order to control every aspect of your life, with the express intent of destroying a once great nation, I can think of no other explanation.
Energy Policy? What Energy Policy?
The administration is bent on reducing access to national energy resources, coal, oil and natural gas, combined with a bizarre emphasis on “alternative” or “renewable” sources in the form of wind and solar energy. European nations that went this course ended up with fewer jobs, insufficient energy for the money invested, and massive fraud in its carbon credits exchanges.
Left acts to shut down talk radio
Kimber charged that “KMJ programming is dominated by … talk hosts that are anti-government, anti-President Obama …” He went on to declare that this kind of talk “creates an atmosphere of divisiveness that allows for the real possibility of violence toward elected officials including the president of the United States.”
He offered no examples of this connection between critical talk and subsequent violence because there are none to offer – unless you attend one of the lectures given by radical imams.
During the Bush years, criticism and dissent were “patriotic.” Today, the left embraces its inner censor.
But what did the “loss” of Daniel Pearl mean? Well, says the president, it was “one of those moments that captured the world’s imagination.” Really? Evidently, it never captured Mr. Obama’s imagination, because if it had, he never could have uttered anything so fatuous. He seems literally unable to imagine Pearl’s fate, and so, cruising on autopilot, he reaches for the all-purpose bromides of therapeutic sedation: “one of those moments” – you know, like Princess Di’s wedding, Janet Jackson’s wardrobe malfunction, whatever – “that captured the world’s imagination.”
Donaldson and Roberts Defend Calderon: Clinton Criticized Tiananmen, Reagan Challenged Gorbachev
“So he gets up and lectures us on moral governance and gets a standing ovation from Donna’s party. The fact is, Mexico has two big exports: Oil, and their second biggest export is poverty to the United States – from which, in remittances sent back to Mexico, they get $21 billion a year. Mr. Calderon has a stake in illegal immigration to our country.”
Study Points to Health Law’s Penalties
As they study the law, employers are discovering another provision that got much less attention. If a company offers coverage but requires any full-time employees to pay premiums that amount to more than 9.5 percent of their household income, the coverage is deemed unaffordable, and the employer may have to pay a penalty.
The Times Discovers That European Socialism Sucks
Heartbreaking, I know. But then, social-welfare systems were actually affordable for a while when the U.S. a) was reconstructing their countries with the Marshall Plan and b) providing American troops and U.S. nukes to shield Europe from the hungry Soviet bear throughout the eighties and nineties. Hey — it’s easy to be a “lifestyle superpower” when you don’t have anything better to do:
Europeans have benefited from low military spending, protected by NATO and the American nuclear umbrella. They have also translated higher taxes into a cradle-to-grave safety net. “The Europe that protects” is a slogan of the European Union.
But all over Europe governments with big budgets, falling tax revenues and aging populations are experiencing rising deficits, with more bad news ahead.
Is it just me, or does anyone else see, not just the U.S., but the entire world, standing on the brink of insanity?

Love your pic. Remind me not to tick you off on a Monday! I totally agree about evrything you mention in your post. I’ve been angry since I was a kid and I started getting angry and this about 8-12 years ago when Clinton was in office and I was reluctant to be politically involved until I moved out of my dad’s home. I couldn’t believe that my own father tried to control me that way. He registered me a Democrat I wanted to register Independent and he argued I’d throw my vote away. I wasn’t gonna vote for some weird party or anything just one I agreed with and it wasn’t the Republicans or the Democrats so now I’m right back where I started and the TEA Party seems to fit.
I try to educate and I try to deal with both pacs and jacks (Republicans and Democrats.) I even prayed for a black president (I DID NOT pray for this kind of president that jsut destroys everything though. This is frightening!
LOL I’m harmless! Heh.
The color of the president is the last thing I care about. If he was chartreuse, he’d still be a socialist/marxist, hell bent on destroying the country.
I saw this and thought of you, since you just went there.
This is why I dont go to foreign countries to vacation. Just my personal preference.

Dena said: ” I even prayed for a black president”
Is that supposed to make people think that they’re better, or special because they PRAYED for a black person to get voted into office? Maybe it makes them feel all squishy inside?
To me that is racism. Thats no different than praying for a white person, which if I told people I did that, theyd call me racist.
I dont pray for ANY color of person to be voted into office.
I pray we get a good person with morals and values, and actually UPHOLDS the constitution he was SWORN to.
Not too much to ask for. But yet we cant seem to find anyone who fits that bill. Only one (arguable at that) in the last 12 has even attempted to. Thats sad.
As much as he tries to pass as one, Obama is NOT black.
His Mother is white ,as is one of his Dad’s parents( a muslim from North Africa and as white as is an Egyptian).
He is no more ‘Black’ than are many Morrocans, Egyptians, Indonesians, or Australian aboriginals!!!
Crap, I should have checked first, both of his Dad’s parents are Black!!
I was wrong.
Kind of like our southern border, SB.
That’s ok Gary, I knew you’d figure it out.
