Will the Democrats Nationalize the US Oil Industry?
by J. D. Longstreet

A snippet:

Socialism in the United States has gone from “creeping” to a full “gallop!” Even some democrat commentators are asking publicly why the President doesn’t simply nationalize the oil industry and get the clean up of the oil spill done — for the people, of course.

Frankly, I don’t think the government has a clue how to clean up that spill — and they know it! Plus, the government does not currently have the equipment or the expertise required to plug a gushing oil pipe located a mile below the surface of the Gulf of Mexico.

As far back as June of 2008 Rep. Maurice Hinchey, D-N.Y., joined the ranks of those threatening to nationalize the oil companies. He is reported to have said: “We (the government) should own the refineries. Then we can control how much gets out into the market.” (SOURCE).

Oh, I don’t think there is room for any doubt the democrats/socialists would nationalize the US Oil companies, and the American divisions of foreign oil companies, in a heartbeat if this were not an election year and they were not already in deep doo-doo.

Honestly, I’m getting so fed up with the whole lot of them, on BOTH sides of the aisle, but especially the DemoCommies!  Anyone who votes to continue this path of destruction is not only mentally deranged, but in serious need of a major butt whoopin’!

SNAP OUT OF IT! Every time the government steps in, everything goes down the tubes. They can’t balance a checkbook, they can’t run Social Security, or Medicare/Medicaid. You slime balls who believe socialism is a fine thing, and the government should run your lives, there are plenty of countries, I’m sure, that would be happy to have you.  Leave THIS one alone!

D’Bama: Abysmal Failure

White House in Disarray
The Foundry

A fudgelike goo coating Louisiana’s marshes. A thick oil slick stretching across the Gulf of Mexico. A plume of oil miles below the ocean surface. A tragic loss of life. Reverberating economic consequences. Throw in a poll that shows that 53 percent of Americans rate President Barack Obama “poor” or “very poor” in his handling of the Gulf oil spill, and it’s no wonder the President yesterday broke his 308-day self-imposed press conference moratorium in hopes of conveying some semblance of leadership amid an environmental, economic and human catastrophe that has spiraled out of his control.

But if Americans were looking for signs of leadership from their President yesterday, they were disappointed. What they got from President Obama was a glimpse of a White House in total disarray, where one hand doesn’t know what the other hand is doing and where there are more questions than answers. At 12:45 PM EDT yesterday, President Obama stood before the country and did his best to convey one clear message regarding the oil spill – the federal government is in control and that he will hold BP to account. Obama said:

Islamification of America

28 May 2010, 7:13 am. 1 Comment. Filed under Opinion, Religion of Pieces.

The 9/11 mosque
America pretends terrorism isn’t linked to Islam

The Washington Times

The area around the former World Trade Center is a sacred space. It is a place where thousands of Americans’ lives were taken by the purveyors of a hostile ideology based on Islam. The Cordoba House, a 13-story mosque and Islamic cultural center planned for a site near Ground Zero, is at best inappropriate, and at worst an attempt to hijack the memory of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.

The effort to memorialize 9/11 has seen an overweening and unnecessary deference to Muslims. Most memorials will not mention the fact that the Sept. 11 terrorist attackers were motivated by the faith of Muhammad. The Flight 93 memorial in Shanksville, Penn., featured a “crescent of embrace” motif that was altered after a public outcry over the use of Muslim symbolism to celebrate the deadly consequence of Muslim fanaticism. The memorial space at Ground Zero will name all the victims of the attack but will not make reference to why they died that day.

The accompanying National 9/11 Memorial and Museum will also soft-pedal the events of Sept. 11. According to Daisy Khan, executive director of the American Society for Muslim Advancement (ASMA), it will represent the “voices of American Muslims in particular, and it will honor members of other communities who came together in support and collaboration with the Muslim community on September 11 and its aftermath.” But it is bizarre that the voices of American Muslims would dominate such a memorial, especially since the Muslim community was never in the forefront of denouncing the actions of their coreligionists after the Sept. 11 attacks. To hear Ms. Khan speak, one would think that Muslims were more the victims than the perpetrators of the carnage.

Read the rest here.

And some people wonder why there is a growing distrust of Muslims in this country? Seriously? Blatant disregard of the wishes of most of the families is ok? I don’t think so! While there were also Muslims who were murdered that day (the number ranges from 23 to 61, depending where you look), does it make a lot of sense to build a symbol of hatred practically on top of Ground Zero? If the situation were reversed, I can guaran-damn-tee there would be rioting in the streets.

Glad I Missed It!

Actually, I didn’t really miss the “press conference”. I chose not to subject myself to what I already knew would be a torturous ordeal. I did, however, catch a snippet on the radio later in the day, that almost made me run off the road. Have you ever tried picking your chin up off the floor board when you’re driving? Not easy.  Trust me!

Obama’s News Conference: Blah, Blah, Blah
By Alan Caruba

The President, after a lapse of 309 days, held a news conference Thursday. It came shortly after news that earlier in the day the director of the Mineral Management Service, Elizabeth Birnbaum, had either resigned or been fired. Obama professed to not know the circumstances. Yeah. Sure.

What we do know is that Obama’s method of dealing with a news conference is to talk each question to death. In addition, he makes sure that we all know that, no matter what the problem under discussion, it was all George W. Bush’s fault.

Watching Obama’s head swivel back and forth between the TelePromters as he read his opening prepared statement for the first fifteen minutes or so was mildly comical and it occurred to me that he has become a real life parody of a Saturday Night Live parody, the latter of which is at least entertaining.

This Is A Response?

When the worm from Mexico, Calderon, lectured Americans while on the floor of OUR House, and the weasels gave him a standing ovation, I posted this, and wrote my Congress critter to ask why she, and the rest of the Republicans, didn’t get up and walk out.

This is what I received just a short time ago:

What a pleasure to hear from you.  Thank you for contacting me to share your concerns regarding illegal immigration and to express your support for enforcement rather than amnesty for illegal immigrants.  Hearing from constituents on issues of concern is important to me and our office as we work to represent our district.

As you know, America has an illegal immigration crisis because our border enforcement is inadequate.  The illegal alien population in the U.S. has grown to more than 12 million, which puts our national security at risk.  Congressional inquiries have revealed a number of illegal aliens working at sensitive and critical infrastructure sites like nuclear power plants and military installations.  As a member of the Immigration Reform Caucus, I have fought for reforms that will stem the flow of illegal entry into the United States, and I have supported legislation to overhaul our border security, create new measures that would help employers verify the legal status of potential new employees, and oppose amnesty at every turn.

First and foremost, Congress must ensure that illegal immigrants cannot obtain valid drivers licenses and use those identification documents to further violate our laws to gain access to government services at taxpayer expense.  As a state senator I led the effort to ensure that Tennessee driver licenses were not available to illegal aliens, and I’ve worked to pass the REAL ID Act in Congress, which was signed into law on May 11, 2005 as part of the Emergency Supplemental Wartime Appropriations Act.  The REAL ID Act sets forth minimum standards for every state to follow when issuing a drivers license. This ensures that no one state can endanger the other 49 states with weak standards. In addition, a license cannot be issued without the applicant proving they are lawfully present in the United States.

Furthermore, I reintroduced the Charlie Norwood CLEAR Act of 2009 in the House of Representatives on May 15, 2009. This legislation clarifies that local law enforcement agencies have the inherent authority to detain illegal aliens and enforce immigration laws within the normal course of their duties.  Currently, the lines of jurisdiction over detaining illegal aliens are burdensome and confusing for state and local law enforcement agencies.  At present, if a local or state law enforcement agent comes across an illegal alien, many are forced to call the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to detain the alien.  With the short staff at the DHS, this rarely if ever happens and illegal aliens are released into the streets. It is my hope that Congress will consider the Charlie Norwood CLEAR Act of 2009 soon.

I have consistently worked to make immigration enforcement a priority in Congress, and I will not stop until the liberal majority of the U.S. House listens to the American people who are crying out for reform.  Be assured that I will keep your views in mind and continue to play an active role in the immigration debate in the 111th Congress and beyond.

Please know that I appreciate both your interest and time in contacting us on this issue. As the discussion moves forward on this and other issues, please feel free to visit our website at www.house.gov/blackburn where you can sign-up for our email update, learn about constituent services, and find the latest legislative news and critical information that affects and concerns the people of Tennessee.

Sincerely,

Marsha Blackburn
Member of Congress

Seriously?  This is an answer to my question?  A foreign leader mocks Americans for wanting to protect their borders, and not only do the Democrats give him a standing ovation, but the Republicans sit there, with their thumbs up their butts, and takes it?  To say that I’m more than disappointed with this response, would be a MAJOR understatement!

Excuse me?? Marsha???  Will you PLEASE answer my question?

Do Not Repeal DADT!

27 May 2010, 11:08 am. Comments Off. Filed under Faith, Opinion, Religion of Pieces, U.S. Military.

‘Don’t ask don’t tell’ deal is good for the country

The word compromise is never music to the ears of passionate advocates for a cause. This is especially true for advocates of overturning the military’s “don’t ask, don’t tell” law, a law that was supposed to be a suitable compromise itself in 1993.

But when idealism collides with political reality, risk avoidance and workable solutions become the goal. The deal that was reached on DADT this week between the White House, the Pentagon, gay rights groups (including my own), and pro-repeal champions on Capitol Hill is that workable solution and will get us where we need to go.

More than 14,000 proudly serving men and women have been abruptly fired from the military pursuant to the DADT law, and many more have voluntarily left the military because of the burden of serving under this unnecessary restriction. The DADT law prevents our armed forces from being able to recruit and retain troops from the largest possible pool of talent, and it is a stain on the integrity of our nation. We cannot afford to wait until next year to lock in full legislative repeal. Our country needs this now.

Read the rest here.

Even if I wanted to put aside my faith, I can’t do it.  But, I’m wondering if those who are pushing for the repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” give a flying flip for the safety and well being of the gays serving in the military?  I rather doubt it.  This isn’t about our military, and those who serve bravely, homosexual or heterosexual.  No, this is all about a political agenda, and the advancement of ‘moral relativism‘.   Right and wrong are absolutes.

This Congress MUST Go!

This Congress Has No Shame
The Foundry

On February 4, 2010, pushing for passage of her pay-as-you-go (PAYGO) legislation, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said on the House floor: “When I became Speaker of the House, the very first day we passed legislation that made PAYGO the rule of the House. Today we will make it the law of the land. … So the time is long overdue for this to be taken for granted. The federal government will pay as it goes.” That was the promise. But here is the reality: in the three years that Speaker Pelosi has enforced her PAYGO rule, the House has violated it by nearly $1 trillion.

And now with the U.S. Debt Clock officially passing the $13 trillion milestone Wednesday, the House is set to violate their own PAYGO law yet again, this time to the tune of around $150 billion. The legislation clocks-in at almost one-fifth the size of President Barack Obama’s original $862 billion failed economic stimulus, and the leftist majority in Congress has titled it “The American Jobs and Closing Tax Loopholes Act.” And it is a tax-hiking, spending-exploding, job-killing, deficit-hiking wonder.

A REAL Fence

The US Southern Border, Arizona, Obama, and the North American Union.
by J. D. Longstreet

Those 1200 National Guard troops Obama is proposing to send to the US/Mexican border will be, for most intents and purposes, in the way of the Border Patrol trying to do their job. Pushing pencils and tapping on keyboards cannot take the place of an armed combat soldier walking guard along that border ready to challenge and “detain,” when necessary, anyone crossing onto American soil.

We desperately need a wall from the Pacific to the Gulf. Not a physical FENCE, not a virtual fence, – a WALL made of bricks and mortar! With a wall there is no excuse that one did not KNOW one was on the US side of the border.

We have US troops patrolling the borders of Iraq, of Afghanistan, of South Korea, and we used to patrol the border between the two Germanies during the recent Cold War. Somehow, we can provide border security for all those foreign countries – but — we cannot provide border security for the American people who are, after all, picking up the tab for all those border-patrolling efforts by US troops overseas! It makes no sense. At least until you know what is behind the US government’s reluctance to secure the border between the US and our southern and northern neighbors.

Read the rest here.

Contrary to what the left keeps spewing, wanting to control our own borders is NOT racist.  With D’Bama and his minions throwing fuel on the fire, it wouldn’t surprise me if there were some sort of armed conflict between legals citizens, and illegal invaders.  Oh….wait a minute.  We already have that now.  It’s called CRIME!

The problem is, the invaders are winning this battle, and the citizens are getting slaughtered while the government, sworn to protect the citizens is sitting on it’s thumbs, whining about racism.  Or playing golf, or taking vacations, or attending fund raisers.

Modern Civil Rights: Cockfighting & Same-Sex Proms
by Ann Coulter

Watching TV this week, at first I thought Republican Senate nominee Rand Paul had flown a commercial jet into the World Trade Center. But then it turned out that he had only said there ought to be discussion about whether federal civil rights laws should be applied to private businesses.

This allowed the mainstream media to accuse Paul of being a racist. Twisting a conservative’s words in order to accuse him of racism was evidently more urgent news than the fact that the attorney general of the United States admitted last week — under oath in a congressional hearing — that he had not read the 10-page Arizona law on illegal immigration, the very law he was noisily threatening to overturn.

And really, how could the U.S. attorney general have time to read a 10-page law when he’s busy doing all the Sunday morning TV shows condemning it?
