Republicans on Track to Snatch Defeat From Jaws of Victory
by Ann Coulter
Republican consultants are doing a wonderful job raising expectations sky-high for the November elections, so that now, even if Republicans do smashingly well, it will look like a defeat (and an across-the-board endorsement of Obama’s agenda). Thanks, Republicans!
That’s what happened in the 1998 congressional elections, nearly foiling Clinton’s impeachment. It’s what happened to the Conservative Party in Britain a week ago.
And that’s what happened this week in the 12th Congressional District of Pennsylvania, formerly represented by Rep. John Murtha.
Note to Republicans: Whenever possible, victory parties should be held after the election, not before it.
Oh, Just Peachy!
The LAST thing we need:
… AN EXTENDED SEVERE WEATHER EVENT AND FLASH FLOODING APPEARS LIKELY THURSDAY AND THURSDAY NIGHT…
WARM AND MOIST AIR WILL BUILD INTO THE MIDSOUTH LATE TONIGHT… BEHIND A NORTHWARD MOVING WARM FRONT. STRONG THUNDERSTORMS AND FLASH FLOODING WILL BE POSSIBLE NEAR THIS FRONT LATE TONIGHT… ESPECIALLY OVER EASTERN ARKANSAS… WEST TENNESSEE AND THE MISSOURI BOOTHEEL. A FLASH FLOOD WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR THESE AREAS FROM LATE TONIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING.
THE ATMOSPHERE WILL BECOME VERY UNSTABLE THURSDAY AFTERNOON… AS WARM AND HUMID AIR BUILDS BEHIND THE EXITING WARM FRONT. THIS INSTABILITY… COMBINED WITH MODERATE WIND SHEAR… WILL PROVIDE FAVORABLE CONDITIONS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF SUPERCELL THUNDERSTORMS SUPPORTING VERY LARGE HAIL AND A FEW TORNADOES. ONE OR TWO TORNADOES COULD BE STRONG AND LONG LIVED. STRAIGHT LINE WIND GUSTS WELL IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH WILL ALSO BE POSSIBLE.
THE WINDOW OF POTENTIAL SEVERE WEATHER WILL BEGIN EARLY THURSDAY MORNING OVER EASTERN ARKANSAS AND SPREAD EASTWARD ACROSS THE MIDSOUTH DURING THE DAY ON THURSDAY. THE PEAK PERIOD FOR SEVERE WEATHER WILL LIKELY OCCUR THURSDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING. THE POTENTIAL FOR SEVERE STORMS WILL CONTINUE THROUGH EARLY FRIDAY MORNING. THE FLASH FLOOD THREAT WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE ENTIRE DAY ON THURSDAY.
Good Fences Make Good Neighbors
Mexico is not being a good neighbor. D’Bama is being a worse president.
President Obama to Mexican President Calderon: “Your business speaks to the truth of our time, in North America and the world. In the 21st century, we are defined not by our borders but by our bonds, so I say to you and to the Mexican people, let us stand together, let’s face the future together, let us work together.” (source)
“Let us work together”? Yes, you stop pushing your people to break in, and we’ll stop being angry about the invasion.
I’m thinking we need to send Mexico, and other Central American countries, a rather LARGE bill! No doubt, it will have a LOT of zeroes, but hey, with all the money illegals are sending south, they can afford it, not to mention all the corrupt politicians in the pockets of the drug cartels. Let THEM foot the bill……. for the property damage, the lives lost, the ecological clean-up, medical care, cost of imprisonment, etc.!
Did Bredesen Even READ The Bill?
Tennessee Restaurant Carry Vetoed by Gov. Bredesen, Again
Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen (D) has vetoed NRA-backed legislation that would have given gun owners in the state a chance to defend themselves in restaurants.
Chris W. Cox, NRA chief lobbyist said, “Governor Bredesen has chosen to side against the self-defense rights of law-abiding Tennesseans. While campaigning for governor, he committed in writing to sign restaurant carry into law. He either has an unbelievably short memory, lied or both.”
He’s a Democrat. Lying and short memories are part of the package.
On May 5, the Tennessee State House moved to adopt Senate Bill 3012 in place of House Bill 3125, by a vote of 66 to 31. Sponsored by State Senator Doug Jackson (D-25) and State Representative Curry Todd (R-95), this bill would have allowed a person who has a valid right-to-carry permit to carry a firearm for self-defense in restaurants where alcohol may be served, as long as the permit holder is not consuming alcohol or is not otherwise prohibited by posting provisions. Alcohol consumption would have been prohibited and a violation would have resulted in the loss of a permit for three years and possible jail time.
I think that pretty much sums it up. The law specifies what is, and is not, permitted. “Gun Free Zones” are pretty much an invitation for crime. Criminals don’t give a flip if there is a law banning guns, why not allow law abiding citizens the right to protect themselves, and fellow diners? It’s not that complicated, but evidently Bredesen decided to thwart the will of the people, kind of like D’Bama does. Hmmm…. Wonder if he’s gearing up for some appointment or other after he leaves office?
“Restaurants aren’t immune from criminal activity. We’ve seen horror stories time and again of honest people who might have avoided becoming crime victims, if only the law would have let them have the means to protect themselves,” concluded Cox. “This issue is not over. We will pass this law. We ask that every Tennessean who believes in self-defense contact their state legislators and tell them they support this reasonable expansion of self-defense rights.”
Some folks might have forgotten about Luby’s, but I sure haven’t!
Tennessee Constitution – Article I, Section 26
That the citizens of this State have a right to keep and to bear arms for their common defense; but the Legislature shall have power, by law, to regulate the wearing of arms with a view to prevent crime.
The CITIZENS have the right! The Legislature passed the law. The Democrat governor vetoed. He must hate the people of Tennessee enough he’d rather see dead bodies from a massacre rather than allow the citizens the ability to stop it.
Victories and Losses
The only reason I can think of for Burns not winning the ‘Murtha seat’, the district is just as feckless as he was.
“We’ve Come to Take Our Government Back”
The Foundry
Last month the Pew Research Center reported that only 22% of Americans trusted the government to do the right thing always or most of the time. And that was the good news for incumbents:
Favorable ratings for both major parties, as well as for Congress, have reached record lows while opposition to congressional incumbents, already approaching an all-time high, continues to climb.
Significantly, a majority of Americans (52%) see the members of Congress themselves as the source of their dissatisfaction. Only 38% attribute their frustration to “a broken political system.”
Thieves Going After That “Obama Money”
Foul Play From Some Flood Applicants
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Monday, lines were still long at two locations that were handing out federal funds to flood victims. Not everyone in line is entitled to the help and state workers have a warning for those trying to scam the system.
Why does this not surprise me?
They shouldn’t just check ‘some’ of the applications….they should check ALL of them! There are people still desperately, and legitimately, in need of assistance. Those just trying to steal taxpayer dollars are less than pond scum.

Sestak Defeats Specter in Pennsylvania Democratic Primary
Rep. Joe Sestak sent Pennsylvania Sen. Arlen Specter into retirement Tuesday with a stunning come-from-behind victory in the the Democratic primary.
Specter becomes the third incumbent member of Congress in two weeks to lose his job, after Republican Sen. Bob Bennett lost the GOP nomination at the party’s Utah convention and Democratic Rep. Alan Mollohan lost a primary in West Virginia.
In November, Sestak will face Pat Toomey, who won the Senate Republican nomination Tuesday.
For some reason, I always call that guy Sleestak.
No offense intended, of course.
Perhaps I’m in my second childhood?
Now, I REALLY hope the folks in Pennsylvania get to work in a big hurry, and make sure Toomey beats the pants off him! Well, not literally. Jeeeez!
Amazing Place!
On our drive home today, we decided to make a side trip to Fields of the Wood. I don’t know why they say it’s in Murphy, unless Murphy proper is THAT big. It was just a WEE bit farther than we thought, but hey, once half way there, why not go the rest of the way, right? And it was definitely worth the extra mileage!

Paul rides tea party support, takes GOP nod in Ky.
Political novice Rand Paul rode support from tea party activists to a rout in Kentucky’s Republican Senate primary Tuesday night, jolting the GOP establishment and providing fresh evidence of voter discontent in a turbulent midterm election season.
Paul had 59 percent of the vote with returns counted from slightly more than half of the precincts, compared to 36 percent for Secretary of State Trey Grayson, who had been recruited to the race by the state’s dominant Republican, U.S. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.
The GOP preference takes a nose dive to the preference of Tea Party participants choice. Perhaps the GOP’rs will start paying attention now?

Tuesday Primaries!
If you live in one of the states having any sort of election Tuesday, 18 May, I don’t care how tired you are, or if you don’t think it matters, or your kid is whining for a Happy Meal, or if you think “it’s in the bag”, get your hinder to the polls and…..
The only way we’re going to get the bottom feeders out of OUR houses, without an actual revolution, is to vote them out! So DO IT! Take a picture of your little “I voted” on your lapel. PROVE IT!
They KNOW….
…and they do NOTHING!
WATCH THESE VIDEOS!
WHOSE SIDE ARE THEY ON????????????
If I hear one more person say ‘they just want a better life’, I might just have to smack the crap out of them, and leave nothing more than a pile of skin on the ground!
Fed Up
Ya ever have one of those days? Well, maybe months….18 approximately.
No matter what you listen to on the radio, watch on the idjit box, read in a magazine/newspapers, it all sucks. I knew long before D’Bama was selected/elected, he was the WRONG person for the job. Shoot, I would have preferred Schrillery! If that man could possibly be worse for this country, I’m not real sure how, but I’m fairly sure…he and his lackeys will find a way.
The hope for sanity was the Supreme Court, though even that has been slipping for a while, they have shown some sense, upheld the Constitution, and made the bad guys pay. Today, I’m not just real sure what happened. Now, I have NO problem with pervert scum being kept locked up for the remainder of their days, although, honestly, I think there is an alternative. Unfortunately, the libpukes would insist it would cruel and unusual. I don’t think so. Painful, fast, and permanent would be the way to go.
Here’s the only problem I have with this ruling: What if, 17 year old Johnny and Daddy’s little darlin’, 16 year old Jill, are doing the nasty in the back of Daddy’s Caddy, and Daddy has some big time friends. Even though slutty Jill was a willing participant, ol’ Daddy Big Bucks makes sure Johnny gets charged and convicted of rape. Johnny’s single mom doesn’t have the money to fight such a fiasco with big time lawyers, and the court appointed barrister sucks so bad, he/she keeps forget to file appropriate papers for appeals and whatnot. Daddy Big Bucks can pay darn near anyone to do whatever it takes to keep foolish Johnny, who couldn’t keep it in his pouch, locked away.
Ok, so maybe I didn’t explain my concerns too well, but hopefully, you’ll get the idea. They want to let murderous Islamonazis out to kill at will, but…. I’m really confused.
The issue where I think the Supremes have lost their minds is when it comes to teens. Should a kid be kept behind bars for the rest of his life for habitual shop lifting? Of course not. But what about the rotten son of a bitch who rapes, beats and maims an 8 year old? The child doesn’t die, but is scarred for life. Shouldn’t such an animal be locked up forever? This isn’t a heat of the moment, ‘mistake’. This is a brutal act and the perp is not a child, but a viscous animal. But because it hasn’t had it’s 18th birthday, it can’t be locked up forever? What is wrong with this picture?!?! I’d much rather see it shot like the mad dog it is, but that’s not allowed.
So, what the Court is saying, kid’s are free to do what they damn well please, without much in the way of consequences, as long as they don’t kill anybody. To put it bluntly….you have GOT to be shittin’ me!
The way it looks, there will be an even more confused person on the bench in the not too distant future. I just don’t understand the world anymore. I’m not sure I want to.
