“Move It Away”…..To Hell

Mosque madness at Ground Zero

A mosque rises over Ground Zero. And fed-up New Yorkers are crying, “No!”

A chorus of critics — from neighbors to those who lost loved ones on 9/11 to me — feel as if they’ve received a swift kick in the teeth.

Plans are under way for a Muslim house of worship, topped by a 13-story cultural center with a swimming pool, in a building damaged by the fuselage of a jet flown by extremists into the World Trade Center.

The opening date shall live in infamy: Sept. 11, 2011. The 10th anniversary of the day a hole was punched in the city’s heart.

That’s right….you read that correctly…..SEPTEMBER 11, 2011! Ten years after murderous Muslims slaughtered 3,000 men, women, and children. If the so called ‘peaceful’ Muslims wanted to add insult to the injury, this would be the way to do it!  It’s not just New Yorkers who are shouting “NO!”  It’s freedom loving citizens all over the country.

“If the Japanese decided to open a cultural center across from Pearl Harbor, that would be insensitive,” Sipos told me. “If the Germans opened a Bach choral society across from Auschwitz, even after all these years, that would be an insensitive setting. I have absolutely nothing against Islam. I just think: Why there?”

He might not have anything against Islam, but I sure do! Nothing in the teachings of the pedophile are peaceful, and people should stop spreading that particular lie!

Wounds that have yet to heal are now opening, as mosque opponents are branded, unfairly, as bigots.

You want to call me a bigot? I honestly don’t give a flip. I am most certainly bigoted towards murderous pig suckers!

“The worst tendency is the knee-jerk, emotional, angry, hateful response to acts of violence and war,” said Donna Marsh O’Connor, who lost daughter Vanessa on 9/11 and supports the mosque. “I think it’s racist tendencies.”

What the hell does not wanting a $100 million mosque just yards from the site of one of the worst attacks on U.S. soil have to do with racism? Islam is not a race you stupid bitch! I’m sorry you lost your daughter to this murderous religion, but for you to support them and call those who don’t racist? How ignorant can you be?

“It’s a slap in our face!” said Nelly Braginsky, who lost son Alexander.

And that’s exactly what it is! If the muzzies had a peaceful bone in their bodies, not a one of them would have ever suggested building a monument to evil so close to where evil destroyed lives. And that exactly what it is…..EVIL!

Liberty Over Tyranny

Cry Treason!
By Alan Caruba

Treason is generally defined as the offense of attempting to overthrow the government of one’s country or of assisting its enemies in war. Benedict Arnold burned his name into U.S. history by conspiring with the British to turn over West Point to them. When his plot failed, he fled to England.

Having all formerly been traitors to the Crown, the framers of the Constitution defined treason narrowly. Historians tell us this was to lessen the possibility that those in power might falsely or loosely charge their political opponents with treason.

Article III, Section 3 of the Constitution says “Treason against the United States shall consist only in levying war against them, or adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort.”

Let it be said that probably all presidents have been called treasonous by their political opponents.

A growing body of popular opinion, however, is beginning to regard the actions of Barack Obama as treason because they coalesce into a pattern that suggests a deliberate effort to undermine national security and the economy. The liberties we take for granted, privacy, freedom of speech, and others are seen to be in jeopardy.

Good stuff. Go read the rest!

Honor Our Heroes!

President Harry S. Truman led the effort to establish a single holiday for citizens to come together and thank our military members for their patriotic service in support of our country.

On August 31, 1949, Secretary of Defense Louis Johnson announced the creation of an Armed Forces Day to replace separate Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force Days. The single-day celebration stemmed from the unification of the Armed Forces under one department — the Department of Defense.

Didn’t Buy A Thing!

14 May 2010, 7:03 pm. 4 Comments. Filed under 2nd Amendment.

Honest!  Not even a book!  Something is wrong with me!  :P

After an extremely long, and foot, knee, back painful day, we are back at the motel.  Well, maybe it wasn’t that bad.  Hmmm…  Oh, yes it was.  Heh.

The Celebration of American Values Leadership Forum was suppose to start at 12:30. Well, the way things runs when you have that many people speaking, it didn’t start on time. Nice live music, playing Big Band, kept us entertained, for a while.  There was quite a crowd in that stadium!

I took lots of video, but if the first couple are any indication, they turned out like crap! The best speakers? Nope…wasn’t Sarah Palin.

Actually, I found her rather boring.  Honestly, I don’t think we are the only ones who thought she didn’t live up to the hype, although, there were a few folks who said something silly like, “She really revved the crowd up, didn’t she!”  Well, no, she didn’t.  I guess that’s what they think they are expected to say?  I’m always more fond of the truth.

The very best? John Bolton, Ken Blackwell and Mike Pence.

Unfortunately, the pictures of Blackwell and Bolton didn’t come out. Taped all of their speeches, but like I said…waste. Can’t hear diddly. If I ever come across videos of them, I’ll be sure to post ‘em. Oh, and the guy from Midway USA was pretty good too.

By the time they got to Chuck Norris, we were pretty cotton pickin’ tired of sitting there so long.  The seats are reasonably comfortable, but after a while…..

While, he’s not a great public speaker, his message, as were all the speakers, was clear!  America, as it was founded, was never meant to be what we see today, and we must fight, a bloodless battle, to turn it back into the original intent….a nation founded on the U.S. Constitution.  I just pray it will be bloodless.

Wanna Know More About Elena Kagan?

Just head on over to Redstate, and read her college thesis.  It’s a real eye opener, although not extremely surprising, considering just who believes she’d make a ‘great Associate Justice’.

Page 134: The Story is a sad but also a chastening one for those who, more than half a century after socialism’s decline, still with to change America. Radicals have often succumbed to the devastating bane of sectarianism; it is easier, after all, to fight one’s fellows than it is to battle an entrenched and powerful foe. Yet if the history of Local New York shows anything, is that American radicals cannot afford to become their own worst enemies. In unity lies their only hope.

Well, I can understand why D’Bama picked her. She thinks just like he does. There’s a reason why America keeps rejecting socialism. Why would anyone want to return to such an oppressive life, after our ancestors fought to leave it, and eek out an existence in the New World? I’m sure there are plenty of countries right now that would welcome Kagan, D’Bama, and their ilk.  Venezuela comes to mind.

Is This What They Consider a “Welcome”?

Welcome, NRA – and please don’t shoot!
We hope you enjoy your stay here, and nothing ticks you off.

First things first. Welcome to Charlotte, NRA conventioneers. We hope you have a fun visit to the Queen City, and we sincerely hope all 70,000 of you have only happy experiences and nothing upsets you. Especially if you are packing heat. We know not all of you are, but it does give a body pause.

Gosh, what a lukewarm welcome!

While we don’t want to sound churlish in our welcome, we must note that this editorial board and the NRA tend to differ on many gun-related issues. For instance, we don’t believe the Second Amendment grants unlimited freedom of gun-ownership any more than the First Amendment grants free speech rights so absolute they include the right to wrongly shout “fire” in a crowded theater.

Gee, I wonder if “this editorial board” leans a WEE bit to the left? Perhaps they should actually do some studying on the 2nd Amendment, and the NRA.

For instance, after the failed Times Square bombing, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg asked Congress to support a measure to stop anyone on terrorist watch lists from legally buying guns and explosives. The NRA opposed the ban.

I can well understand why the NRA opposes such a measure. So do I. You see, I might be on that “terrorist watch list”, even though I’m no threat to the people of the U.S.A. At the rate this administration is going, it’s not inconceivable such a thing could happen.

This week, in an incident that shocked many, an 8-year-old Charlotte third-grader took a loaded handgun to school Tuesday and fired it in a room full of students.

Blaming the NRA, any 2nd Amendment supporter groups, or individuals, is absolutely ludicrous. This is exactly the reason there is a need for such organizations. If the 8 year old had been taught gun safety, the proper use of weapons, perhaps this incident wouldn’t have happened. Blame the parents, and the kid. Even 8 year old kids should know the difference between right and wrong. Problem is, editorial boards, such as yours, have blurred those lines.

The National Rifle Association was founded in 1871 by Union Army veterans dismayed by the lack of marksmanship shown by their troops. Its goal was to “promote and encourage rifle shooting on a scientific basis.” But by 1975 things had changed. The political lobbying arm, founded that year, now has a staff of 80. Because of its robust lobbying and politicking, the NRA has become synonymous, in many eyes, with extreme right-wing Republicans.

Another ridiculous statement, propagated by such leftist ‘editorial boards’. I know Democrats, who could in no way be mistaken for “extreme right-wing Republicans”, who are strong advocates for the 2nd Amendment, which protects the right of self defense, granted by GOD! If that self defense includes a need to defend ourselves from a tyrannical government…..

The conference schedule does not belie that impression: Speakers include Sarah Palin, Fox entertainer Glenn Beck and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.

Anyone who could equate Sarah Palin, who supports RINOS in the upcoming elections, with “right wing” really has investigative issues. And I wouldn’t exactly call Newt on the right either. Beck? Try watching his show once in a while, you might get an education. Entertaining? Yes, actually he is. But I’ve always found those to be the best ‘teachers’.

We think there’s a need for a group devoted to gun-fanciers, but one which sees that Second Amendment freedoms come with responsibility and that reasonable limits, such as denying guns to insane criminals, are OK. And while the NRA does offer gun-safety programs for kids – and offered some in Gaston County this week – we’d prefer a group that puts far more of its muscle into that admirable effort and less into fighting reasonable laws to make it harder for 8-year-olds to shoot up their classrooms. The NRA’s leadership has cast itself, instead, as a highly partisan lobbying group. And that’s a shame.

What’s a ‘shame’ is a newspaper who would equate me with a terrorist.  Instead of denigrating the NRA, or any other similar group, why not do a little REAL journalism. The majority of LEGAL gun owners are extremely patriotic, believe in the U.S. Constitution, and are extremely law abiding. I’m sorry there are people who live in Charlotte, or anywhere else, for that matter, who are so uneducated, and fearful, that they can’t see the difference between REAL terrorist, and us.

I guess, other than the hotel, we won’t be spending as much money here in Charlotte as we could, since we are rather UNWELCOME!  Way to go Observer!  One of these days, you just might need us to protect your sorry, libtard asses!

Nashville flooding…does the media or the White House care?
Larry Elder

“Barack Obama doesn’t care about white people!”

No, country star Taylor Swift didn’t say that about the president. Nor did any of the entertainers who performed on a telethon to raise money for victims of the historic floods ravaging parts of Tennessee, Kentucky and Mississippi. None accused the Obama administration of indifference or lack of attentiveness to these floods.

Swift, who contributed $500,000, was one of many stars who appeared on this fundraiser put on by the Nashville NBC affiliate, WSMV, and carried by other Tennessee stations.

In 2005, a Hurricane Katrina relief telethon was carried live on CBS, ABC, Fox, and NBC and more than 25 other channels. A separate telethon was broadcast on MTV, VH1 and CMT. During a Katrina fundraiser, rapper Kayne West accused President George W. Bush of indifference to the plight of those suffering. West said, “George W. Bush doesn’t care about black people.”

Facebook Sucks!

13 May 2010, 7:04 pm. Comments Off. Filed under Just Cuz.

Well, that’s almost a given, but here I am, sitting in a motel room in Charlotte NC, trying to access my account, and it keeps asking me to identify people to verify my account.  Seriously?  I have somewhere in the neighborhood of 2,300 “friends”, and I’m suppose to remember all their faces?  Are they freakin’ kidding?  Does Michell Malkin have to go through all that every time she takes her computer on the road, just to check her facebook account?  Ok, I’m not Michelle Malkin…no where near, but the same question applies.  Would she, or anyone, who has more than 10 ‘friends’ on that stupid thing, be able to name every single one, and put a face with the name?

So, if you’ve commented on something, or sent me a message, or asked to be a ‘friend’, you’ll just have to wait till we get home.

We Are Here!

13 May 2010, 6:41 pm. 2 Comments. Filed under Travel.

Yup!  We made it.  Actually, we got here about 3:30, checked in, sat for a few minutes, and headed down to the convention center to pick up credentials, or name tag, or whatever the heck they call it.  You only get a ‘free pass’ for one day, unless you check back in every day, OR stand in line for an hour to get a hang around your neck type name tag, so you can stick your membership level on it, for all the world to see.  Yeah, ok, we’re up there, but big deal.  :D

I thought the exhibits were suppose to be open today, but evidently, someone forgot to get set up in time.  So, what better way to spend a little time than to shop! A pair of earrings, a couple of decals, and a hat are a good start.  Heh.

We’ve also discovered, cabs are damn expensive, and parking is at a premium.  They do have a train system, so I think we are going to make use of the rest of our trip.  The cab driver that took us over there, and brought us back forgot what a minimum speed limit means.  I was terrified some little old man was going to slam into the back end at any given minute.

Did anything interesting happen in the world today?  :D   Honestly, don’t care….cuz I’m one tired ol’ shufflin’ woman!  :P   It’s a shame the TV reception seriously sucks, cuz it would have been nice to lose m’self in mindless drivel.  :?

Sigh….

13 May 2010, 7:48 am. 4 Comments. Filed under Tennessee, Travel.

I now am able to connect to the internet, but have very little time.  This time switch is messing up my internal clock!

We drove through some beautiful country.  You start appreciating the modern world when you realize there was a time that the speed limit was 45, MAX.  Well, our average yesterday was 45.  No wonder it took so long for anyone to get anywhere!  I can’t imagine doing it in a covered wagon.  :?

The biggest problem we had……CHATTANOOGA! Speed up. STOP! Speed up. STOP! Repeatedly. We never did figure out what the problem was….maybe there was a candy wrapper on the side of the road that was so interesting, people had to stop and look?

If we had more time, I would have stopped and taken a few shots of Cherokee National Forest. It’s quite pretty. Didn’t see any critters though. Was hoping for a bear or something. Heh.  Well, maybe on our way back.

Next stop…….Charlotte!
