Insert Four Lettered Words

15 June 2010, 8:33 pm. 2 Comments. Filed under Just Cuz.

I had no choice.  I HAD to go to the grocery store.  It was either that, or starve to death while the Mr is up in Wisconsin for the funeral.  Ok, perhaps that’s a bit of a stretch, but still…the cats would have gotten pretty hungry.  Now, I’ve been sick for more than 2 weeks, and haven’t even been out of the house, except to go the doc’s last week, so I haven’t much felt like spending time in Wally World.  I decided that the best time to go would be during ol’ D’Bama’s blatherings this evening.  Makes sense, right?  Pfft!

I walk out the door, right at 7, figuring I’d be back long after it was all over.  On the drive to town, I saw both ends of a rainbow, a downpour and the sun shining all at the same time.  Oh, and that fool that was out there in the rain with the lawn mower.

I wandered through the grocery section of Wally World, which, of course, has been completely changed around so I can’t find anything, got the necessary items, go to check out, write my check, get grief from the cashier cuz I won’t giver her my phone number, load all the cat food, etc., into the truck, get in, turn the engine on, and guess what’s on the flippin’ radio!!!!!  sigh….  So much for avoiding the lies and plans for more destruction.

Corker Forgets

Corker slams banking bill at Nashville stop

Republican Sen. Bob Corker said in a speech Monday to the Rotary Club of Nashville that the banking reform bill pending in Congress is bad legislation, but he nonetheless expects it to become law.

Well, of course it will! As with every other BAD bill we’ve had shoved down our throats!

Corker said he does not expect to vote for the financial services bill after trying to broker a compromise between Senate Democrats and Republicans. Efforts at bipartisanship have been doomed in recent years, as both parties have refused to introduce centrist legislation, he said.

Bob has become a serious disappointment to Tennessee conservatives.

“I think people would come together around middle-of-the-road policies,” he said. “You think I’m going to oppose a good, middle-of-the-road policy that takes our country forward? No.”

See, this is what Bob isn’t getting. We don’t want ‘a good, middle-of-the-road policy’! We’d very much like you, and your cohorts to stop tinkering! We don’t need to go ‘forward’ in such a manner. We NEED you clowns up there in D.C. to get the hell out of the way!  There is right, and there is wrong.  Wrong is what we keep getting from the Swamp.

Democrats say the legislation passed by the House and the Senate will make Wall Street more accountable, prevent future financial market meltdowns and protect consumers from “unsafe” financial products, such as subprime mortgages.

You mean those same meltdowns that were actually encouraged by the stupidity in Congress? The idiocy of these people still astounds me, although, by now, it shouldn’t.

But Corker said the bill will make it harder for businesses to borrow money, make American banks less competitive internationally and give federal and state officials too much power over financial markets.

Well….yeah! That’s the whole idea, Bob! If I, sitting down here in Podunk TN, can see this, why can’t you figure it out? And you were actually working on this? Uh huh.

Corker said Democrats had “moved the goalposts” rather than agree to compromises he suggested to make the banking bill more acceptable to congressional Republicans. Banking Committee Chairman Chris Dodd said in a statement last week that the bill incorporates many ideas from Republicans and that he hopes to receive more input from them in the conference committee.

I’d really like to see a good chat between P/H and Bob! Heh. If that can’t, or won’t happen, then perhaps he should read this, and share the info with his fellow Senators.

“In this conference, the minority can be as relevant as they choose to be in these discussions,” he said. “I welcome constructive input as we work to finalize the essential reforms we need to ensure the long-term stability of our financial system. But I will not weaken this bill.”

Actually, it’s NOT the government that will stabilize the financial system, but the private sector.   It’s NOT the government’s job!   I’m thinking Corker is one of the 100 reasons that the 17th Amendment should be repealed.  :?   Since both houses of Congress have no idea how to balance a check book, they obviously have NO business telling others how it’s done.

How To Sell Toothbrushes

15 June 2010, 2:36 pm. Comments Off. Filed under Just Cuz.

The kids filed back into class Monday morning. They were very excited. Their weekend assignment was to sell something, then give a talk on productive salesmanship.

Little Sally led off: “I sold girl scout cookies and I made $30,” she said proudly, “My sales approach was to appeal to the customer’s civil spirit and I credit that approach for my obvious success.”

“Very good,” said the teacher.

Little Jenny was next: “I sold magazines,” she said, “I made $45 and I explained to everyone that magazines would keep them up on current events.”

“Very good, Jenny,” said the teacher.

Eventually, it was Little Johnny’s turn. The teacher held her breath.

Little Johnny walked to the front of the classroom and dumped a box full of cash on the teacher’s desk. $2,467,” he said.

“$2,467!” cried the teacher, “What in the world were you selling”

“Toothbrushes,” said Little Johnny.

“Toothbrushes,” echoed the teacher, “How could you possibly sell enough tooth brushes to make that much money?”

“I found the busiest corner in town,” said Little Johnny, “I set up a Dip & Chip stand, I gave everybody who walked by a free sample.”

They all said the same thing, “Hey, this tastes like dog shit!” Then I would say, “It is dog shit. Wanna buy a toothbrush?”

“I used the governmental approach of giving you something shitty that they say is good, and then making you pay to get the shitty taste out of your mouth.”

Iowa Republican: Obama favors blacks over whites

Democrats on Tuesday denounced an Iowa Republican congressman who says President Barack Obama favors blacks over whites, and a GOP candidate from Colorado canceled a fundraiser the Iowan was to keynote.

So, Dems denounce another Republican for speaking the truth. Big shocker there. /snark Honestly, if I had paid money to go to that fund raiser in Colorado, I’d ask for a refund. What a freakin’ coward!

“I’m offended by Eric Holder and the president also, their posture,” said King, 61. “It looks like Eric Holder said that white people in America are cowards when it comes to race.”

Personally, I’m offended by the whole lot of ‘em, but it has nothing to do with color. :?

King continued: “The president has demonstrated that he has a default mechanism in him that breaks down the side of race on the side that favors the black person in the case of professor Gates and officer Crowley.”

Like it or not, D’Bama & Co. have spewed their color bias on numerous occasions. King got it right.

Andy Stone, a spokesman for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, criticized Gardner for having scheduled King. “This is just the kind of over-the-top extremism that Colorado voters have rejected again and again,” Stone said.

Extremism? Criminy. Since when is the truth extreme? Unless, of course, “You can’t handle the truth!”

In typical Democrat/Lame Stream Media fashion, blame the victim Etheridge’s assault and battery, NOT the batterer!  And oh yes, it’s Andrew Breitbart’s fault too!  Jeeeeez!  Can these assjacks get any more irrelevant?

Russert admitted: “We obviously don’t know if that’s true or not,” but quickly added, “it’s quite interesting that we do not know who the folks that actually took this video are, this late in the process. You’d think they’d want some notoriety, especially if they are perpetuating this cause against the Obama agenda.”

Considering how the media treats anyone who is not an Obama lapdog, I’m not surprised that these kids would want to stay anonymous.

One More Reason FL Needs To Vote For Rubio

Former Obama adviser signs on with Crist campaign; is her ex-boss next?

Here’s something that’s likely to fuel speculation about how President Obama regards Charlie Crist’s Senate bid: Former White House communications director and longtime Obama confidante Anita Dunn announced today that she’s severing ties with the Democratic National Committee through the 2010 elections. Her reason: Crist.

Last week, the Florida governor, who recently changed his party affiliation from GOP to independent, hired Dunn’s consulting firm, SKD Knickerbocker, to advise his Senate campaign. That’s a little awkward for a couple of reasons: One, since leaving the White House, Dunn has been a key adviser at the DNC; and two, Democrats have their own candidate in the Florida Senate race, Rep. Kendrick Meek.

While it’s unclear what role, if any, Dunn will play in Crist’s campaign,  the Obama adviser tells NBC’s Chuck Todd and Mark Murray that she thought it would be best to recuse herself from the DNC. “We all reached the decision this was the cleanest way to avoid problems for the President and Chairman (Tim) Kaine,” Dunn said in an email.

Yes, it looks like Mao Tse Tung’s biggest fan is joining with Charlie Crist. This tells me a LOT about Crist!  I wonder what kind of advice she will give him?  How to set up slaughter mills for his critics?

The Obama Energy Tax Game Plan
The Foundry

In February of this year, after Sen. Scott Brown’s (R-MA) victory put Obamacare on life support, health insurer Anthem Blue Cross announced a 39% rate hike for its individual market subscribers in California. Despite the fact that the President’s health care plan will only drive health insurance rates higher, the White House seized on this story to revive the government takeover of the health insurance industry. Two months later when the President’s financial regulation plan was stalled in the Senate, the Securities and Exchange Commission charged Goldman Sachs with fraud in marketing some of its subprime mortgage investment products. Again, the White House pounced on this news to get its preferred legislation through Congress.

“Christian Tea Partiers Worse than Muslim Terrorists”

Author Ayaan Hirsi Ali, talking about radical Muslims: “Somehow, the idea got into their minds that to kill other people is a great thing to do and that they would be rewarded in the hereafter.”
Host Tavis Smiley: But Christians do that every single day in this country.
Ali: “Do they blow people up every day?”
Smiley: “Yes. Oh, Christians, every day, people walk into post offices, they walk into schools, that’s what Columbine is — I could do this all day long….There are folk in the Tea Party, for example, every day who are being recently arrested for making threats against elected officials, for calling people ‘nigger’ as they walk into Capitol Hill, for spitting on people. That’s within the political — that’s within the body politic of this country.”
— PBS’s Tavis Smiley, May 25. (source)

Two words shit fer brains: BITE ME! The animals this asshat cited are plain out and out crazy, and have NOTHING to do with Christianity.  Muslims, on the other hand, MURDER in the name of their god and prophet!  HUGE difference, don’cha think?  I know NO Tea Partiers who wants to MURDER anyone!  Smack upside the head?  Oh hell yeah!  Murder?  NO!

The Government Bailouts Must End
The Foundry

Late Saturday night President Barack Obama sent a letter to the leadership of the House and Senate urging them to approve a tax and spending bill currently being debated in the Senate that already would add $80 billion to our nation’s budget deficit. But coming off of last year’s $862 billion stimulus, President Obama is not happy with just another $80 billion in debt for this year. He also requested another $50 billion in deficit spending earmarked for bailing-out state and local governments. Without this “emergency” money, the President claims thousands of government union jobs would be lost. But even among his own party, the President faces an uphill climb. House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer told The Washington Post: “I think there is spending fatigue.” “Bailout fatigue” is more like it. And the President’s envisioned spending spree is full of both.

“Public Servant” Assaults Student

When an elected official physically assaults a student on the sidewalk, said official needs to have charges brought. Is it too much to ask for an elected official, supported financially by the American public, to answer a simple question? The man seems excessively paranoid. Maybe he’s not happy that he was asked THAT particular question? Maybe he’s embarrassed? Or maybe he’s just a piece of crap that has no business in public office! Sure hope the folks of NC’s 2nd District sends such a weasel a very important message!  Fire him!  What a coward!

From The Bottom Up…..VOTE

14 June 2010, 8:22 am. Comments Off. Filed under Opinion, Politics.

While reading Ted Nugent’s column from last Friday,

They say all politics is local. Well, I think the best, most effective politics is much more intimate than that. I believe the ultimate American politics begins and ends with oneself: All of us “we the people” maintaining control of things as a united voice of reason, goodwill and decency. I happen to know that’s how it all began with some tough, defiant anti-big-government leaders known as our Founding Fathers.

I don’t know about French politics or British politics, and I can’t imagine you could call what goes on in the hellhole worlds of tyranny, dictatorships and Third World slave nations like Mexico, Iran and, for that matter, all of Africa and beyond. But here in this magnificent experiment in self-government, I am convinced that politics was supposed to be “we the people” raising nonstop hell with our elected officials as the driving force for all policy and decision-making from the grass roots up, not from the wannabe tyrant Nancy Pelosis down.

I was immediately reminded of a post Texas Fred put up on Saturday.

City of Rowlett Runoff Election

Unofficial Combined Election Results

Ballots Cast

Early Voting – In-Person 646
Early Voting – Mail 7
Election Day – Optical Scan 299
Election Day – ADA Ivotronic 0
Total Ballots Cast 952
Provisional Ballots 0

Registered Voters 33,501
% of voter turnout 2.84%

Less than 3% of registered voters thought it was important enough to get off their lazy asses and make their voices heard.  Pretty pathetic, and I can understand Fred’s anger….quite well.  I’m starting to wonder if people don’t believe local elections are just as important as on the national level? To say the turnout in Rowlett, Texas is less than encouraging, would be an understatement. Obviously, I have no dog in that hunt, but it is indicative of the apathy that has become prevalent.

I’m completely baffled. Where do they think the national candidates come from? Are they just pulled out of someone’s hat, and voila? Well, other than D’Bama (and I’m of the mind he came from someone’s other end), most start at a very local level….city council, mayor, commissioner of this or that. The local elections are every bit as important as the national ones, and in some cases, even more so. Local authorities have the ability to make your life reasonably pleasant, or a complete hell.

Once the federal government decides how much of their own money citizens in a certain area are going to get back, it’s the local yokels who decide how that money will be spent. Will those potholes, you know the ones that keeps knocking your vehicle out of alignment, be filled, or fixed? Will the library be shut down because of some project a particular council person wants to spend that money somewhere else? Will the teachers union’s contract be rejected due to outrageous demands on funds that are limited, or will the city council cave and decide the kids didn’t need those text books after all. These are important issues! And local primaries are EXTREMELY important. After all, it’s on the local level where we start taking our government back.

Now, if your area hasn’t had a primary yet, find out when it is, who is running, what they believe, where they stand, and get your ass to the polls. If you recklessly missed a local vote, then do not bitch when you feel your views and values are not reflected.   How do you think we got into this mess to begin with??  It was voter apathy!  Plain and simple!
