Public Housing
You may have seen this, but it bears repeating.
The problem with public housing is that the residents are not the owners.
The people that live in the house did not earn the house, but were loaned the property from the true owners, the taxpayers. Because of this, the residents do not have the “pride of ownership” that comes with the hard work necessary. In fact, the opposite happens and the residents resent their benefactors because the very house is a constant reminder that they themselves did not earn the right to live in the house. They do not appreciate the value of the property and see no need to maintain or respect it in any way.
The result is the same whether you are talking about a studio apartment or a magnificent mansion full of priceless antiques. If the people who live there do not feel they earned the privilege, they will make this known through their actions. The picture below illustrates the point!!

BHO and Big Mama really should not qualify for public housing, given the way they throw the money around. It would be so nice to see them pay for something out of their own pockets, just once, just to show that they know how to do it, but it would also be 100% out of character for them. They are “takers,” they never contribute anything of their own to the public good.
I’d like to rephrase the closing part of this post. I should read more along the line of :

There is no respect due to the man, and it is the man, not the office being addressed here. The Jerk!!
Well, he sure doesn’t get any respect from this ol’ broad. He hasn’t earned it. The office itself, on the other hand…. Well, I’m still retaining a bit of respect.
Is it wrong to respect the desk more than…
Dean, I think, under the circumstances…..it’s quite ok.
The point on pride of ownership though is so true. Having not struggled and having had to sweat to earn what someone owns, one cannot appreciate the true value of an item and therefore one will not respect what one possesses. The One is certainly not exempt.
It is not only OK, it is the only reasonable thing to do. The desk stands for something, the office of the President stands for something, the current occupant stands for nothing at all, and therefore is to be accorded no respect whatsoever. Actually it is worse than that. The current occupant stands against us, he is a traitor if he was ever one of us which is a very questionable proposition in itself.
I still remember the very first dress I bought with money I earned myself. I was 15. It was blue, sleeveless, and I paid $18 for it. I’d had to put it on layaway because I didn’t earn enough sweeping floors in the beauty shop to pay for it right out. Those little things are real important, and they stick with you. Earning, not taking! He’s taken everything he’s gotten, and hasn’t earned a damn thing!
I was absolutely sickened by this picture! This shows the man’s TOTAL DISRESPECT for the office he’s residing in!! Grrrrrrrrr!! God he should be tar’ed & feathered and rode out of town!
I am discussed TOTALLY! God…I wish with all my heart that we could IMPEACH his ass! And, it has nothing to do with his being a black man, and everything to do with his total lack of ethics, and honor, and the priviledges he takes sooo for granted! Grrrrrrrrrr!!
Perhaps if we all work real hard, and get his minions out of the majority? This country can survive another 2 years of that man playing at POTUS.

Okay, I’m glad I’m not alone on the desk thing. Having said that, Kos has an image of Bush doing the same thing, and I’ve seen a picture of Ford doing it as well. But I doubt there’s a photo anywhere of Reagan doing it, and to be frank, what Clinton had going on with that desk, makes the feet up look tame. Still, the difference here is Obama’s obvious disregard for the institutions and founding principles of the country that makes his actions especially egregious.
I was never a big Bush fan either. LOL Nope, can’t see Reagan doing such a thing. The man had way too much class.
I was never a big Bush fan either. He got some things right, but too often was a McCain type of conservative (which is to say RINO territory).
Worse, his damage to the GOP brand and political damage to conservatism outweighed most of his good work – it led to Obama’s win and the Democrat super majority. That’s two more liberal justices and decades of resulting fallout. That’s Obamacare and expired tax cuts, it’s messy financial reform and a still to come re-try on Cap and Trade.
Still, those ‘miss me now?’ billboards, relatively speaking, ring true.
I left the GOP when they started acting way too much like Dems (around 2005). Shoot, even the Dems aren’t acting like Dems anymore.
Just freakin’ socialists. Now, I see some hope of getting it back, but I’m not going to hold my breath unless we can get some of the career politicians OUT!
Why all the fuss? Our last president did the very same thing and I don’t see any fuss about him or Gerald Ford putting their feet on the desk. Our last president got us involved in not one but two wars which we are still fighting. Our last president lied to us along with his Vice President. I believe because our present president is black everyone is up in arms. What a racist country.

Never has been. “What a racist country”? What a racist thing to say! The U.S. was established as a Republic. Through the last 40 years, no one seemed to notice the slow move left towards socialism. In the last 18 months, this nation has been pushed so far away from it’s founding, no one recognizes her anymore. Obama, and his minions are socialists! THAT is the issue at hand. The picture just emphasizes his total lack of respect for the country, and her citizens. At least previous presidents respect the office and those who put him there. This one shows blatant disregard. I’m no Bush fan, but would you be so kind as to tell me what lie you are referring to? And if you haven’t notice, we are still in 2 wars because the current administration only knows how to campaign, and not how to lead. He could quite well have ended both wars. The Democrats, who have been in power since 2006 could very well have cut off funding for both wars. Blame those who deserve the blame, and stop spewing the nonsense you hear repeated on MSNBC. In other words…..GET A CLUE!
Ramona, the office of President of the US is vacant right now. We have an impostor in the White House, one who is completely ineligible to serve in that position. He knew it when he ran, his henchmen who certified him knew it, but they did it anyway because in their minds, the end justify any means whatsoever. He daily shows blatant disrespect for this nation, for its founding principles, for the Constitution, for the rule of law, for everything American. He has made it abundantly clear that his mission is to destroy America. He took the oath of office lying through his teeth, but lies come entirely naturally to him.
None of this anything to do with race, but it has everything to do with his hatred for America. If we could have had someone like Thomas Sowell or Alan Keyes elected, we would be in fine shape, but they happen to love the US, unlike BHO.
