State says guns-in-bars law does not create workplace hazard
A state inspector rejected a Nashville server’s complaint alleging the mixture of guns and alcohol creates an unsafe workplace at Jackson’s Bar and Bistro.
I don’t know…maybe it’s just me, but if I didn’t feel safe in a work environment, I don’t think I’d be working there, instead of trying to change laws to suit myself.
Citing the fact that few violent incidents have occurred at Jackson’s in recent years, an inspector with the Tennessee Occupational Safety and Health Administration ruled this week that the new law allowing guns where alcohol is served does not create a workplace hazard.
Honestly, I don’t know of a single bar that has NOT had ‘violent incidents’. Alcohol tends to make people stupid, and stupid people do stupid things.
According to Smith, the server also plans to file a complaint with the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration alleging that Tennessee is not properly applying federal workplace safety guidelines.
Why do I get the feeling there is some 2nd Amendment haters behind this ‘server’? It’s still against the law to drink and carry. It’s against the law to drink and drive. It’s a shame it isn’t against the law to be stupid.
Protesting The Protesters
Thousands of Indonesian Muslims protest US church’s plan to burn Koran on 9/11
Thousands of Indonesian Muslims rallied outside the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta on Saturday to denounce an American church’s plan to mark the anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks by burning copies of the Koran.
The Dove World Outreach Center in Gainesville, Florida, said it will burn the Islamic holy book Wednesday, the ninth anniversary of the terror attacks. Local officials have denied a permit for the bonfire on the church’s grounds, but the center — which made headlines last year by distributing T-shirts that said “Islam is of the Devil” — insists it will go ahead with the plan.
Do I think this church should go ahead with its plans? I don’t know. Actually, I don’t care if they burn that so called ‘holy book’. These yahoos get their marching orders from said book, so it might be an indication of just where this church got the idea.
In how many countries is it actually illegal to own a Bible? We all know that Saudi Arabia, that hotbed of openness and ‘tolerance’, the “Vatican” of the Muslim world, destroys Bibles on a regular basis.
How about Indonesia? How do they treat non-Muslims?

And these are just a few of the many! Ever heard of the Pact of Umar? Today’s so called modern Muslim countries seem to take this 7th century pact between the conquered Christians of Syria and Muslims quite seriously.
We shall not display our crosses or our books in the roads or markets of the Muslims. We shall use only clappers in our churches very softly. We shall not raise our voices when following our dead. We shall not show lights on any of the roads of the Muslims or in their markets. We shall not bury our dead near the Muslims.
I’m thinking we just might need a similar ‘pact’ right here, right now. Hmmm….. How utterly intolerant of me!
I tried finding any news of members of the Dove World Outreach Center promoting violence or involved in any sort of violence against Muslims. Big shocker: I couldn’t find any reference at all. I did, however find this:
Letter says assassins plan to kill Dove World pastor
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again…. I DO NOT CONDONE ANY VIOLENCE TOWARDS ANYONE! No matter their race, color, creed, or religion. But I’d like to ask….if a Muslim Center decided to have a “Burn the Bible Day”, how many true Christians would threaten the life of the Imam, and carry out attacks on Muslims unrelated to that center? Just curious.
Oh, and about that ‘permit’. I’ve never understood why you have to ask to burn something on your own property. Do the lefty protesters get burn permits when they torch the U.S. flag? Just askin’.

Authorities: Arson Caused Fire at Tennessee Mosque Site
Federal investigators said Friday that a suspicious fire that damaged construction equipment at the site of a future mosque in Tennessee was arson and offered a $20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
The future mosque in Tennessee, like other houses of worship for Muslims across the country, has been drawn into a fierce debate surrounding a proposed Islamic community center two blocks from Manhattan’s ground zero, and opponents are becoming even more hostile and aggressive.
Gosh, I wonder why? Perhaps it’s because folks are finally waking up to the fact this is NOT a religion of peace, and they aren’t too fond of having the promotion of the destruction of our country right smack dab in the middle of our communities? Just a thought.
I do NOT condone violence, or the destruction of private property. I do however, think that perhaps this crime is indicative of just how strongly people feel about the building of such places in our midst. When a synagogue is built in the middle of Mecca, and worshipers left in peace, we’ll talk.
