Reid’s “DREAM” VS WE, The People
A Leftist Wish List vs. National Security
The Foundry
One of the foremost responsibilities of the federal government is to ensure the security of our nation. It is right there in the Preamble to the United States Constitution: “We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.” This week the U.S. Senate is scheduled to take up the FY 2011 National Defense Authorization Act. This legislation is necessary to fund the defense of the United States and its interests abroad. The House already passed their bill in May. But Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) would rather talk about amnesty.
Why is Reid doing this? One only need look at the RealClearPolitics aggregate polling data: he is in a dead-heat reelection battle with State Rep. Sharon Angle (R). That is why Reid bypassed usual Senate procedure and included “the DREAM Act” in the defense bill. The DREAM Act creates a “path to citizenship” for illegal immigrants who entered the U.S. before the age of 16, have lived here for 5 years, and either serve in the military or attend college. But the bill also prohibits the government from deporting anyone who has even filed an application for the program. This essentially gives amnesty to anyone who applies regardless of whether they actually qualify for the act’s protections. Worse, the program would also allow applicants to sponsor their immediate family members for a green card. While current law prohibits sponsorship of illegal immigrants living in the United States, this leaves open the possibility that they could fraudulently, through falsified documents or other means, sponsor their parents who are in the U.S. illegally – creating an even larger amnesty.

HCRW Reagan Day Dinner
The Mr and I went to the Hardin County Republican Party’s Reagan Day Dinner this evening. We took my pastor and his wife as our guests, and I’m not sure, but I think they enjoyed themselves. I don’t think I’ve ever seen my pastor that quiet since I’ve met him. LOL
It was a very nice turn out (over 300) and I commend the committees for their hard work. Naturally, there were a bunch of politicians there….what would a political event be without them? Heh. I was planning on taking many more pictures, but as usual, the battery in my camera crapped out! What is it with me and batteries???

Now, I’ll be honest, I didn’t vote for Mayor Haslam in the primary, but I will be supporting him in the general. Not only is he a personable type, he seems to be quite smart as well.
This is the guy I did support, Ron Ramsey. 
The dark haired lady with the deer in the headlights look going on, is Donna, the prez of the Pickwick Republican Women.
Bending over, chatting is my state Rep, Vance Dennis, and the tall white haired gentleman (in the background) is the mayor of Savannah, Bob Schutt.

Naturally, after a dinner of way too much food, there were the required speeches, which, as political speeches go, weren’t too bad.
Ron Ramsey is a a multi-talented fellow. Not only is he a CONSERVATIVE politician (TN Lt. Governor), he’s also an auctioneer. As is typical, there was the silent auction, and then Ron took the stage for a live auction. I always do my best to not even twitch when such a thing is going on. With my luck, I’d end up buying a hubcap, or some such thing. There were some nice items offered, like desert for a year, some fancy person dinner for 8 package, and a few pictures, including the ‘one of a kind’ back drop on the stage. I even managed hold still when they were auctioning off a cute little .380, totally made in America. Wasn’t easy, but since I had no cash, no checkbook, it was a wise decision. Not to mention the Mr might have been extremely unhappy if I had moved a muscle.
I had meant to get a picture of the pastor and his Mrs, but before I could….darn battery. It’s sitting on the charger now!

Congress Ignores The Constitution….AGAIN!
Dems’ agenda hidden in defense bill
The Senate is gearing up to vote this week on a bill meant to involve just the military, but it includes a number of social issues.
The Defense Authorization Act holds a provision that would turn medical facilities on military bases into abortion clinics. It would also overturn the ban on homosexuals serving openly in the military and allow some illegal immigrants to become citizens.
Arizona Congressman Trent Franks (R) thinks Democrats are attempting to pass this bill because they know Republicans will look bad for rejecting it.
Under NO circumstance, should any of the lefts ‘social agenda’ be attached to military spending! NEVER….EVER! I feel the same way about the Repubs doing the same thing. NO ONE should attach ANYTHING to bills supporting our troops!
I love our troops! I appreciate what they do for us, on a daily basis. There is a long proud history attached to our military. For these scumballs to demean them in this manner is insulting! Insulting to the troops themselves, insulting to their families, and insulting to the American people!
As much as I hate to do it, I would urge every single member of Congress to reject this bill, unless, and until, these feckless attachments are removed! ‘Social agendas’ are NOT included in the duties of Congress, nor should they be! I’d also suggest that those who swore to uphold the Constitution, take the time to actually READ IT!

The Sword & Shield to Stop the Islamization of America

This is an encouraging paper, because it explains the moral and constitutional justifications to stop the islamization of our country.
We face a grave threat – the Muslims are infiltrating our country and taking over. We seem powerless to resist: Our governments won’t acknowledge the threat; we are told Muslims have “constitutional rights” to come here, proselytize everywhere, build mosques, and implement shariah in their communities and in the public square; and our governments are letting them do it.
The Muslims seek to replace our Constitution with shariah – their totalitarian political, economic, military, social & legal system – with the goal of incorporating our Country into a global Islamic caliphate.
They are making progress in islamicizing our Country because we are not resisting.
And the dreadful message we are getting from all sources is that our Constitution renders us powerless to resist islamization.
But read on, and I will show you how our Constitution & Declaration of Independence – properly understood – actually give our federal, State & local governments justification and authority to stop the islamization of our Country. Once we understand two things, it becomes clear what we may – and must – do:

In today’s Wall Street Journal, House Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-VA) identifies two justifications for his unequivocal opposition to any impending tax increases: “The first concerns the pain that tax increases threaten to inflict on our economy over the short term. The second is to stop the slide under our current leadership towards becoming a stagnant European-style welfare state with limited individual opportunity and entrepreneurship.”
We’ve written before about how President Barack Obama’s reckless spending threatens to undermine our nation’s economic vitality. Before the recession, federal spending totaled $24,000 per U.S. household. President Obama’s FY 2011 budget would hike it to $36,000 per household by 2020 — an inflation-adjusted $12,000-per-household expansion of government. But spending is just one-half of this White House’s economic plan. Massive wealth-distributing tax hikes are the other half of President Obama’s wish list, and they are just as big a threat to our nation’s economy.

Kaine: Tea Party is like Donner Party
Democratic National Committee Chairman Tim Kaine called the Tea Party “the Donner Party” on Sunday, saying that the movement was “knocking off Republicans” and giving his party hope that it could win seats in races previous considered especially tough.
Uh…excuse me, Mr Kaine, sir, if I may….You are SO FULL OF CACA de TORO!
The Dems are evidently having a real tough time grasping the concept that so many with an “R” after their names, yet vote much of the time as the Dems, are the ones being shoved OUT. Many true conservatives are coming out victorious, and it just chaps their hides. Heh. Is it November 3rd yet? 
Side note: If your education was so lacking in American history, you don’t know what the Donner Party was, read here. No doubt, the majority who stop by will be familiar with the tale.

Tea Party Express: Murkowski doesn’t ‘get it’
The Chairman of the Tea Party Express told CNN on Friday that Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski’s decision to mount a write-in re-election effort shows that she doesn’t “get it.”
“She was fired by the people. The people were given a choice and they voted for somebody else,” Amy Kremer told CNN. Kremer said she was shocked to learn of Murkowski’s decision.
I find Murkowski’s decision to be typical of entrenched politicians. Their egos far out way any desire to ‘serve the public’. Considering her actions, and those of recently ‘deposed’ Mike Castle in Delaware, I believe the people have spoken wisely.

‘Extreme Makeover’ unveiling thrills Antioch preschool
Seven days after Extreme Makeover: Home Edition announced plans to rebuild Lighthouse Christian Preschool in Antioch, show host Ty Pennington ordered the crew to “Move that bus.” The trademark vehicle pulled away to reveal a completely finished 6,000-square-foot school.
The previous structure was destroyed in May’s floods. The Sweatt family, who has operated the preschool since 2003, jumped up and down, cheering and hugging each other upon seeing the sprawling, blue-and-green hilltop building that will house their preschool program.

About 1,000 people were on hand to watch the big reveal, including many Lighthouse students and their families.
“It’s just a blessing, to have seen their other school destroyed, and now know they have a new school to go to,” said Latara Washington, whose 3-year-old daughter, Leilani, has attended the school for the past year. “We’re very excited to see what the inside looks like, her new little home. I’m just happy they have a new building where they can grow and learn.”
