Child Still Expelled for Toy Gun – a Year Later
Samuel Burgos has fond memories of his friends at school, but he only gets to see them in pictures now.
The 8-year-old boy hasn’t been in school for a year and will likely miss another year if the Broward County School Board has its way.
Burgos was suspended from school in November after a teacher found a toy gun in his backpack. But when the boy went to register to go back to Pembroke Pines Charter School, he was told he will be expelled for this school year, too, as part of the county’s zero tolerance weapons policy.
“He made a mistake, but why the severe punishment? I don’t understand that,” said Magdiel Burgos, Sam’s dad.
School board officials said the rules are quite clear and that the toy gun constituted a weapon. A school board report on the incident mentions that Samuel showed the toy gun to another student and it was capable of firing projectiles.
ARE THESE PEOPLE COMPLETELY OUT OF THEIR FREAKIN’ MINDS? Do they have any idea how utterly IGNORANT they are appearing to the entire world? The total lack of common sense has become a plague to the rational, and many suffer, especially children, for this kind of stupidity!

Rutherford mosque opponents sue county, mayor
Opponents of a new mosque in Murfreesboro filed suit this morning, asking a judge to block construction on the project.
The opponents say county officials violated Tennessee’s Sunshine Laws when they approved the mosque by failing to give proper public notice and by holding a secret pre-meeting about the mosque. They say the county approved an illegal burial on the site.
They also say that since the mosque plan includes a school and soccer fields, the project doesn’t count as a religious building.
Illegal burial site? Ok..first I’ve heard of this. I think it’s safe to say that it is no secret I’m totally opposed to building any more mosques, ANYWHERE, within a million miles of the U.S. of A.! Matter of fact, I’d be right happy if those that already exist would close up shop. Yes, I do believe in the 1st Amendment, and the stated freedom of religion, BUT…..I don’t think the authors of the Constitution had in mind to allow murderers and pedophiles establish a foothold in a country that believes in liberty. Islam provides for no liberty.
That being said, I have to take issue about the school and soccer fields problem. If this is their argument, then no Catholic church, with school attached, or any sort of playing field, can ever be build. Or any other denomination, for that matter. Just sayin’.

Another Slap To Israel
At the U.N. Obama Promotes Human Wrongs Against Israel Instead of Human Rights
Wednesday in Geneva during the current session of the U.N. Human Rights Council, the Obama administration became a willing participant in the U.N.’s imposition of an apartheid-style ban on representatives of the state of Israel. Despite the promises made by the administration that by joining the Council the United States would not become part of the problem, U.S. Ambassador to the Council Eileen Donahoe chose to attend and fully participate in a meeting that deliberately excluded anyone representing the Jewish state.
The whole Obama administration IS a large part of the problem! He’s emboldened the U.N. to take such actions by his non-action. They treat Israel like the ‘red headed step child’, the only TRUE ally we have….at least had….in the Middle East. There will come a time when the U.S. is going to NEED Israel’s assistance. If you were them, what would your response be?
Think I’ll Be Staying Home
Traffic slow and go in Savannah for rock concert
Expect traffic delays in Savannah today. Main Street from Water Street to Pickwick Street through downtown Savannah is blocked to through traffic because of preparations for the 7 p.m. Marshall Tucker Band rock concert. Traffic is being detoured to the Water Street truck route.
As of 8 a.m., delays of 10 to 15 minutes should be expected. Concert tickets for the outdoor event are available at the gate.
Savannah’s ‘downtown’ is not very big. Even during normal times, parking is not all that great. So, I’m wondering, just where are all these people going to be parking this evening? Oh well, I’ve seen Marshall Tucker before, a LONG time ago, so I reckon we’ll just stay home today……. and tonight! 
And probably tomorrow too! Sure glad the Mr got all his running around yesterday. Besides, it’s gonna be HOT!

A Good Decline
Violent Crime Declined As Gun Sales Climbed in 2009
Violent crime continued to fall in 2009, even as gun sales reached an all-time high, according to statistics from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). This is “proof positive that gun prohibitionists have been consistently and undeniably wrong,” the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms said in a statement.
I’ve had quite a few conversations with cops who are advocates for concealed carry, even in states that violate the 2nd Amendment, like Wisconsin. To paraphrase: “The bad guys never know who might be armed, and willing to defend themselves.” Yep, as usual, the leftards are wrong!

6th District candidate Carter asks Pelosi to step aside
Democratic District 6 Congressional candidate Brett Carter is asking U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi to step aside for the good of Democratic candidates.
Carter, in an announcement made in Nashville on Thursday morning, said he sent a letter to Pelosi requesting her to step aside.
“I think it is incumbent on Speaker Pelosi to step aside,” Carter said.
Citing a report in the Murfreesboro Daily News Journal, where Carter was described to have an albatross around his neck in the form of Pelosi, said the divisiveness she generates hamstrings his and other Democratic candidates’ abilities to focus on the issues.
Even the Democrats don’t like her! *snicker*
Another Just Cuz Moment
There’s this young fella who sits in front of me at church, when he’s not on the boat, working, who’s quite a talent. Right now, he’s doing ‘cover’ songs, mostly classic country, and I came across one I like really well. Always been a Don Williams fan! 
Brennan Barrier might be famous someday,or he might not, but either way, he’s a good kid. And good kids aren’t all that common anymore. 
I do wish he’d get someone else to work the video camera though. LOL If you want to check out more of his stuff, check ‘em out here.

I don’t remember hearing about the cartoonist, Molly Norris, being squirreled away by the FBI. Why?
The Yemeni-American cleric Anwar al-Awlaki – the radical who’s also been cited as inspiring the Fort Hood, Tex., massacre and the plot by two New Jersey men to kill U.S. soldiers – singled out artist Molly Norris as a “prime target,” saying her “proper abode is Hellfire.” (source)
Ah yes, the ever so “tolerant and peaceful Muslims, respecters of others”, yada yada yada. Yeah…we have all seen just how peaceful and loving they are, on a daily basis.
Norris views the situation with her customary sense of the world’s complexity, and absurdity. When FBI agents, on a recent visit, instructed her to always keep watch for anyone following her, she responded, “Well, at least it’ll keep me from being so self-involved!” It was, she says, the first time the agents managed a smile. She likens the situation to cancer—it might basically be nothing, it might be urgent and serious, it might go away and never return, or it might pop up again when she least expects it. (source)
Personally, I prefer the one with the bomb on his head. Much more accurate!
