ABC’s This Week: Europe Not Socialist Enough and Needs to Spend More, ‘Centrist Moderate’ Obama v ‘Irrational’ Tea Party

Europe isn’t socialist enough for ABC’s Christiane Amanpour, who pushed French’s finance minister about how “prominent” economists are urging Europe to abandon “austerity” since “it needs more stimulus to provide more growth,” and later during the This Week roundtable, New York Times columnist Paul Krugman ridiculed Tea Party candidates as “irrational” and “seriously strange” before he insisted that irrationality is demonstrated by their inability to recognize Barack Obama is a “centrist moderate President.”

If Obama is a “centrist moderate”, I’d REALLY hate to see her idea of what’s FAR LEFT!  I guess she thinks Hugo Chavez is a centrist too?

And what about Paul Krugman?

There are some seriously strange people running, thanks to the Tea Party….It’s not just suspicion of government. We have people out there believing that this basically centrist moderate President we have is a socialist bringing Sharia law to America. None of that is rational.

Ok, let me get this straight. People, who advocate for smaller government, a return to the U.S. Constitutional limits of government, are strange? Really? Well, Mr Krugman, those of us who advocate for the Constitution think YOU, and your ilk, are strange. Why would anyone, with an ounce of common sense want to destroy the last great hope of the world? Why would we want to, voluntarily, give up our liberties, granted by God Himself? No sir, if anyone is strange, it’s people like YOU!

Good stuff from NewsBusters, here and here.

The Progressive Movement is desperate. The 2008 election was supposed to be the dawn of a new liberal era. An enlightened bureaucratic elite in Washington was supposed to enact a broad and transformative agenda that would save the economy, return the nation to prosperity, and legitimize big government for a generation.

But only the enactment of the agenda occurred, without any of the promised benefits. President Obama’s trillion-dollar stimulus and trillion-dollar health care entitlement are now law. The leftist bureaucrats have been empowered … but their policies have failed. Health insurance premiums are rising, poverty is up, and the nation’s unemployment rate hovers near 10%.

Rally shenanigans: Book thrown at Obama, naked man arrested

President Obama got the book thrown at him – literally.

In what was one of the president’s stranger campaign rallies, an unidentified individual in the crowd threw a book at Obama just after he wrapped up his remarks at the event in Philadelphia on Sunday.

The president did not appear to notice the flying projectile, which was caught on video, though it did appear to miss him by only a few feet. It’s not clear what book in particular was thrown, or why.

The least CNN could do is find out which book was thrown. That might give some indication WHY it was thrown. :? But seriously, ya just don’t throw stuff at the POTUS, even if you think he’s a total horse’s patoot! Just not a good idea!

In other strange rally news, police arrested a naked man who apparently was engaged in a publicity stunt for a website.

According to the Weekly Standard, the streaker was prompted by billionaire and social media guru Alki David’s pledge to pay $1 million to the first person who streaked at an Obama rally, so long as the streaker had David’s website written on his chest.

David told the Weekly Standard he would send money – in cash, not check – after he reviews the video.

I’m a little baffled.  First, why would anyone want to pay someone to streak at a D’Bama event?  Second, why would someone be willing to get busted to streak at a D’Bama event?  :?

Just A Few Observations

10 October 2010, 1:13 pm. 2 Comments. Filed under General News, Opinion.

This might explain why California is so screwed up!  It’s always someone else’s fault, and not the destructive policies of the state legislators, voted in by those same bozos who cast blame on others, right?

This is SO cool!  But why didn’t they include pictures of the mosaic with the article.  :?

Ain’t that a pip!  The very left leaning paper endorses Bill Haslam?  I’m impressed.

Don’t the candidates for California governor have better things to do that immerse themselves in petty squabbles?

Kind of tired of people blaming exterior circumstances for their own bad behavior.  Life isn’t a bowl of cherries, and tough times can either build character, or let the ‘real you’ shine through.  If you’re a scumbag, you’re a scumbag, no matter what the economic conditions.

What’s the point of having police if they just stand around and WATCH people being attacked?

Is it ignorance, obliviousness, or evil?

Are there more crazy people now, or is it just that we hear about them more than we use to?

The “…..soldiers should have been better equipped but their deaths could not have been avoided.” Seriously? Yes they could. The ‘good guys’ could have banned together and blown the whole freakin’ country off the map. THAT would have prevented their deaths! You can’t change the mindset of animals!

Why do moonbats think it’s a good idea for NON-citizens to vote in ANY election?  Wanna vote?  Become a citizen….LEGALLY!

When you tell a soldier he will still have a job when he comes back from serving overseas, then turn around and slap him down, you deserve to get your sorry self sued!

That’s one big ass punkin’.  What do ya do with something that big?  Bake a HUGE pie?  :?

Good news is always welcome!

The ChiComs are annoyed?  So what!  They believe someone promoting peace within his own country is contrary to Nobel’s ideals?  Well, considering how many people they have MURDERED within their own borders, hearing they’re pissed with this choice isn’t so surprising.

Still claiming that Pakistan is an ally, and his policies are working, Obama is oblivious to reality.

Just how far off the deep end do you have to be to want to license TOYS?  People need to get a grip on reality!

I’d like to know why we are even allowing a trial?  Shoot the son of a b*tch, and save us ALL the aggravation, including his lawyer!  Courts are for those who are ‘innocent until proven guilty’.  We already know this piece of caca de toro is guilty!  I no longer have any patience with these pigs!

He wants to commit suicide?  Give him a rope!

The man just can’t face the fact that he is destroying the country, and must, as true to form of a narcissist, blame someone else.

Perhaps I’m not the brightest bulb in the box, but shouldn’t a country’s currency be their own business, and not that of some distance NWO types?  If a country ‘turns inward’ to deal with their own issues, wouldn’t that be better for the country?

And by the way, the moderators did a terrific job!

Tennessee Gubernatorial Debate 10/07/10

9 October 2010, 12:40 pm. 2 Comments. Filed under 2010, Opinion, Politics, Tennessee.

I had to DVR the debate on Thursday night, between Bill Haslam and Bill McWherter.  Why?  Well, sometimes the Mr just gets totally fed up with politics and politicians.  So, this morning, I am watching the debate.

My first impression….I don’t think I could spend four years listening to McWherter.  And that’s before the debate even begins! He doesn’t seem to be quite all there.  No offense to the man, but there is something not quite right there.  Not because he is a Democrat, if I was more concerned with just the party involved, I wouldn’t even be watching this debate.  I’d just automatically vote for the Republicans.  NOT gonna happen.  I want to be informed.

Judging from the answers to this point, 15 minutes into the debate, I’m going to have to say that Mayor Haslam is winning.

Massive Regulations Killing The Economy

EPA global warmers’ power grab

At issue is the EPA‘s designation of “greenhouse gases,” e.g., carbon dioxide, as pollutants subject to EPA regulation in accordance with the Clean Air Act. The EPA ploy is the Obama administration‘s response to Congress‘ failure to pass a broad climate bill that would include provisions such as “cap-and-trade” to reduce carbon-dioxide emissions.

Has our public school system gotten so ineffective that so many aren’t aware that BREATHING is the #1 cause of carbon dioxide?  Do they not teach that plants use carbon dioxide, and expel oxygen?  Human inhale the ‘waste product’ of the plants.  We have a symbiotic relationship.

Symbiosis is taken from the Greek words syn meaning ‘with’ and biosis that means ‘living’.

Without the carbon dioxide, there would be no plant life.  No plant life, no humans.  Or, is that their intention?  Totally depopulate the planet?

There are many reasons for Congress to resist this abomination. For one thing, the term “greenhouse gases” does not appear anywhere in the Clean Air Act, confirming that Congress never intended this legislation to be used to regulate carbon dioxide emissions and the like. Certainly, no previous administration has interpreted the Clean Air Act as a mandate to regulate such emissions. In any event, a constitutional perspective suggests that Congress, not unelected bureaucrats, should be setting U.S. policy.

The EPA has over reached it boundaries, pretty much since its inception. The original purpose was to reduce the U.S.’s dependence on foreign oil. Well, done such a peachy job of that, haven’t they. As a matter of fact, their actions have made us MORE dependent. They have prevented exploration, and innovation. They have stopped the building of nuclear power plants, that IS a clean alternative. The regulations that continuously put in place prevents our independence. Why should it take 20 years to get a freakin’ permit?

But the main reason to resist this EPA power grab is the adverse impact it will have on the U.S. economy. The new EPA regulations will raise energy costs for companies and create additional investment uncertainty, reducing their competitiveness in international markets and driving jobs overseas. They will also drive up prices for consumers. Meanwhile, there will be little if any reduction of global greenhouse gas emissions.

If you own a business, and want to expand, to provide jobs for Americans, promote economic health, would you want to do so in this climate?  Personally, I’d find a place that was more friendly to expansion.  Such regulations have sent many businesses overseas, with the aid of outrageous union demands.  Without companies, there are no jobs.  With no jobs, we become totally dependent on the government for our sustenance.  We, in effect, become slaves to the state.

The best alternative for Congress would be to deny the EPA the authority to enforce the new regulations at all. Unfortunately, such a proposal was defeated in the Senate in June. Under the circumstances, the next best approach is one that is favored by a number of Democrats, including Sen. John D. Rockefeller IV of West Virginia, Sen. Jim Webb of Virginia and Sen. Ben Nelson of Nebraska, to delay implementation of the new regulations for two years.

The absolute BEST alternative for Congress is to rid our nation of ALL the unelected agencies that have taken control, starting with the EPA!

King Obama?

8 October 2010, 7:43 pm. Comments Off. Filed under Communism, Male Bovine Excrement, Opinion, Politics, Socialism, The ONE, U.S. Constitution.

Obama reshapes administration for a fresh strategy

Reporting from Washington — As President Obama remakes his senior staff, he is also shaping a new approach for the second half of his term: to advance his agenda through executive actions he can take on his own, rather than pushing plans through an increasingly hostile Congress.

Should we call him Fuhrer?  Benevolent dictator?

U.S. Constitution – Article II
Section 2 – The President shall be commander in chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the militia of the several states, when called into the actual service of the United States; he may require the opinion, in writing, of the principal officer in each of the executive departments, upon any subject relating to the duties of their respective offices, and he shall have power to grant reprieves and pardons for offenses against the United States, except in cases of impeachment.

He shall have power, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, to make treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur; and he shall nominate, and by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, shall appoint ambassadors, other public ministers and consuls, judges of the Supreme Court, and all other officers of the United States, whose appointments are not herein otherwise provided for, and which shall be established by law: but the Congress may by law vest the appointment of such inferior officers, as they think proper, in the President alone, in the courts of law, or in the heads of departments.

The President shall have power to fill up all vacancies that may happen during the recess of the Senate, by granting commissions which shall expire at the end of their next session.

Section 3 – He shall from time to time give to the Congress information of the state of the union, and recommend to their consideration such measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient; he may, on extraordinary occasions, convene both Houses, or either of them, and in case of disagreement between them, with respect to the time of adjournment, he may adjourn them to such time as he shall think proper; he shall receive ambassadors and other public ministers; he shall take care that the laws be faithfully executed, and shall commission all the officers of the United States.

Now, I don’t know about you, but I don’t see anything in these described duties of the President of the United States that states he, or she, can RULE the country by executive order.

“Whether or not the Republicans take over majorities in one or both houses, the margins will be so much narrower that the strategy of putting together a Democratic bill and picking off a handful of Republicans to push it over the top won’t be viable anymore,” said William Galston, senior fellow at the Brookings Institution.

So the best arena for Obama to execute his plans may be his own branch of government. That means more executive orders, more use of the bully pulpit, and more deployment of his ample regulatory powers and the wide-ranging rulemaking authority of his Cabinet members.

“This would fit into the status quo for the White House,” said Brad Dayspring, a spokesman for House Republican whip Eric Cantor of Virginia. “The White House is showing no effort to work with Republicans. It has shown no interest in listening to the American people and has at all costs tried to ram through legislation that was tremendously unpopular.”

Barack Hussein Obama has no regard for the United States, nor the legal citizens of this country. His agenda is not WE, The People’s agenda. Our agenda includes “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness”. His agenda includes conquer and control of our citizenry. He may or may not have been born in Hawaii, but his purpose is not that of a free America.  During his formative years, he was taught what appears to be quite the opposite.  His mentors were not freedom loving patriots, but those who were avowed communists.

Senators get death benefits; taxpayers get death taxes

Let me see if I’ve got this straight: The families of dead senators receive death benefits at taxpayers’ expense; the families of dead taxpayers pay death taxes to help pay for a bloated government of the politicians, by the politicians and for the politicians. No wonder grassroots America is up in arms and is prepared to throw the bums out in November. Little things mean a lot, and a lot of little things are building up back home.

Gee, ya get the impression those weasels up there in D.C. are SCREWING the tax payers? Uh…that would be US! WE, The People, who are the only reason any of them have a job. I’m of the mind they need to be looking for other employment….with NO severance package! Just a very large PINK SLIP!

Jones Stepping Down as Obama’s National Security Adviser

While Jones’ resignation is not unexpected, he is the latest high-profile official to leave Obama’s administration following Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel’s departure last week. More leadership changes are expected as Obama nears the two-year mark of his term and the grueling pace of the White House takes a toll.
