NO to Harwell!
It’s seems a battle is brewing for the leadership position in the TN House. Rep. Beth Harwell has expressed strong interest, with Rep. Kent Williams backing her. Well, that right there is enough to get me to say NO to her. Williams was the one who pulled the rug out from under Jason Mumpower for the speaker last time around, with the backing of the Democrats. He got his butt booted out of the TN Republican Party for his actions.
Also throwing his hat into the ring is Rep. Glen Casada. Now, there are some on the left who are making a big to do about Casada’s son being busted for streaking. Seriously? This is the best y’all can come up with? Did the kid molest children? No. Was he selling drugs at an elementary school? No. He was doing what a lot of 19 year olds do…..acting stupid. All this criticism from the same types who re-elected a killer, over and over again. Give me a flippin’ break!
I think I will urge my state rep, Vance Dennis, to support Casada.

U.S.-Born Radical Cleric Calls for Killing of Americans in New Video
A U.S.-born radical Yemeni cleric has called for the killing of Americans in a new video message posted on radical web sites.
Anwar al-Awlaki says Americans are from the “party of devils” and so don’t require any special religious permission to kill.
So, let me get this straight. A guy that was born in the U.S. says it’s ok to kill Americans? Does that mean it’s quite alright to kill him too? I mean, after all, if he was born here, wouldn’t that mean he’s “contaminated”? Hmmm…. If anyone had any doubts this is an us vs them, this should pretty much clear things up. A pig who worships a murderous pedophile claims it’s ok to slaughter my grandchildren cuz the moon god says so? Yeah, I think that would erase any questions.
So, where are the “moderates”? Are they going to speak up and denounce this animal? Or, will they behave as they normally do.

A former leader of a ’70s protest group responsible for bombing the U.S. Capitol, the Pentagon, police stations and other targets is worried that “racist, armed, hostile, crazy-making” tea parties pose an “unspeakable” threat to America.
Really? Such a statement might be almost amusing if it weren’t so utterly disgusting, not to mention a blatant LIE! How is the U.S. Constitution an “unspeakable threat”? Never has there been ANY proof that the Tea Parties are racist! NEVER! I’m sure Alfonzo Rachel, Kevin Jackson, Lloyd Marcus, and any number of every day Americans, who just happen to be black, would be real happy to set you straight! We happen to take the ‘content of character’ quite seriously.
Bernardine Dohrn, who with her husband William Ayers were leaders of the communist revolutionary Weather Underground, had been tied to so many acts of protest violence in the ’70s that she was placed on the FBI’s Top 10 Most Wanted List and was described by J. Edgar Hoover as the “most dangerous woman in America.”
I could call her a few other ‘choice words’, but then, I’m a lady, and I won’t stoop to such levels.
Dohrn, however, told an Indian news and views website that she’s concerned about a new breed of protesters, the tea partiers, whom she describes as “a hard right emerging, an armed, new hard right with massive control of media.”
Now THAT is funny. Let’s see….MSNBC – HARD left, ABC – HARD left, CBS – HARD left, NBC – HARD left, PBS – REAL HARD left. Even the so called ‘entertainment’ on such channels are full of leftist propaganda. What does the right have? We have Fox News, that while it does slant to the right, even the Democrats, the rational ones at any rate, will tell you it presents balanced, factual, news, and we have talk radio. HARD left radio bit the big one because no one wants to hear the rantings of irrational lunatics with no basis in facts.
“It’s racist, it’s armed, it’s hostile, it’s unspeakable,” she said. “White people armed, demanding an end to this president – it’s very crazy-producing.”
What an absurd statement! Crazy? Pot….kettle! As many Tea Party rallies I have been to, not ONE SINGLE PERSON was carrying any weapons. Not ONE SINGLE window was broken. Not ONE SINGLE car was set on fire. Not ONE SINGLE person “demanded an end to this president”, only his presidency. There is a difference, you ignorant broad! We’re armed, at home, to protect ourselves from the trash YOUR communist agenda has produced in this country. None of us has tried to blow up the Capital, or Pentagon, or murdered police officers.
Speaking of the polarization of the nation as evidenced by the tea parties, Dohrn told NewsClick India, “It generates thousands of death threats every day in its wake and hate mail and craziness.”
I wonder….is this …………………black female dog traveling with her socialist hero? The hate I see generated is 100% on the left….from people just like her! The violence is sparked by garbage like HER!
Dohrn’s most notorious activities began when she and Ayers went underground after she was charged with instigating riots at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago in 1968 and after several of their fellow Weatherman associates were killed by bombs they were building in a Greenwich Village townhouse. One of those killed was Ayers’ girlfriend at the time, Diana Oughton. The group had been planning to use the bombs at Fort Dix Army Base in New Jersey.
How dare this white trash call ME a terrorist! WE respect our military! WE appreciate their sacrifices! WE don’t built bombs intended to MURDER our fellow citizens. WE don’t bite off fingers of those who disagree. WE don’t stomp on people’s feet! WE don’t scream in the faces of children! WE don’t intimidate voters! WE believe in LIBERTY, in PERSONAL responsibility, the U.S. Constitution, and personally, I believe my RIGHTS come from God Almighty Himself, not from anything like your screwed up ideology!

White Ex-Officer’s Sentence Spurs Oakland Protest
Police made more than 150 arrests as a crowd broke windows and knocked down fences, protesting a Los Angeles court decision to sentence a white former transit police officer to the minimum term for fatally shooting an unarmed black man.
Oh yes. Breaking windows and destroying property ALWAYS garners sympathy for your cause, doesn’t it.
The protests erupted hours after Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Robert Perry sentenced Mehserle to a two-year prison sentence, provoking immediate anger from the victim’s family and friends who demanded a much harsher punishment.
“Oh my!” Grant’s mother Wanda Johnson shouted. She burst out of the courtroom saying, “He got nothing! He got nothing!”
I can understand the mother’s anger. I’d be angry too if I felt that someone who harmed my child wasn’t getting enough punishment. I am not going to second guess the judge’s sentence. I haven’t seen all the evidence, I don’t know all the details. AND, I am not emotionally involved, other than the fact that another human being has lost his life. THIS, however, is over the top:
Grant’s uncle, Bobby Cephus Johnson, said outside the court: “I do believe it’s a racist criminal justice system.” But he added that the family was reacting calmly.
Now, I won’t deny there is racism. Nor will I deny there has been racism in the courts, in the past. I do not, however, believe it is as rampant as what this gentleman would like to convey. I’ve watched the video the LA Times posted on YouTube. (and I thought I was bad at video taping?) While the quality isn’t all that great, from what I can discern, there were several of these young men who appeared quite defiant to the orders given by the police. As I said, I can’t really tell who is who, nor is there any sound to judge who is saying what to whom.
An Oakland rally billed as a tribute to Grant turned into a march through the downtown area with residences nearby, where demonstrators broke car and bus windows late Friday night. Some carried a banner reading “Justice for Oscar Grant.” Police helicopters hovered above, shining spotlights on the crowd.
I wonder if Grant would consider such behavior a ‘tribute’? Was he the type who would destroy other people’s property because he was unhappy with something? If so, then this demonstration must be doing him proud. If not, then these people should be a complete embarrassment to both Grant and his family, AND they are criminals!
Officers began making arrests about 8 p.m. and had detained and handcuffed 152 people by the time the protest had died down about 90 minutes later.
Police spokesman Jeff Thomason said officers checking the backpacks of several of those arrested found hammers, pepper spray, switchblades and anti-freeze.
Oh yeah….that really sounds like a ‘tribute’, doesn’t it. As I said before, if the young man was the type to participate in such activities, then he was done proud. If he was, then he was as much of a criminal as those who destroyed property.
“If you’re going to protest, protest right,” he said. “Don’t vandalize other people’s property.” Mehserle, 28, had faced a possible 14-year maximum term after being convicted of involuntary manslaughter. At the time of the shooting, Mehserle was a Bay Area Rapid Transit police officer responding to a report of a fight.
When you morons behave in such a manner, the people you are hurting are you neighbors and small businesses who hire neighborhood kids, when they can. You are NOT hurting the target of your anger!
In making his decision during the highly charged, 3 1/2-hour hearing, Perry threw out a gun enhancement that could have added as much as 10 years in prison and said there was overwhelming evidence that it was an accidental shooting.
Got that? ACCIDENTAL! There are many deaths that happen by accident. That’s exactly what they are….accidents. Behavior by intentional stupidity (drunk driving, etc), are a completely different category.
“I did the best I could with this case,” Perry told the courtroom. “My decisions today will not be well-received by many people. I’m sorry for that.”
The only thing a judge can do is take into account the evidence, and make the best judgment possible. We aren’t always happy with what the judge decides, but rational people don’t riot in the streets and destroy their neighborhood.
Prosecutors had sought a second-degree murder conviction, saying Mehserle became angry at Grant for resisting arrest.
However, jurors were given the choice of lesser charges, including voluntary and involuntary manslaughter. In reaching a decision on involuntary manslaughter, jurors found that Mehserle didn’t mean to kill Grant, but his behavior was still so negligent that it was criminal.
The jurors were given the choice. The jurors made a decision. Not everything is based on race. Not all decisions take color into consideration. I would pray the those who were in that jury room looked at ALL the evidence, and came to a just conclusion. Isn’t Los Angeles, and California in general considered to be so much more intelligent than the rest of the country? (perhaps a little bit of snark there)
The judge rebuked prosecutors for arguing that Mehserle intentionally shot Grant, saying there wasn’t any evidence to back up that allegation. Perry also said he believed the videos showed Grant resisted arrest and many people, including Mehserle’s fellow officers and Grant’s friends, contributed to the tragedy.
What I saw in the video, were several defiant young men who, if they had done as the officers had asked, all would have gone so much better, and Grant would, more than likely, still be alive. Destroying your neighborhood will not bring him back. People should learn from the actions of others, and what NOT to do when confronted in such a situation. You don’t look cool when you behave like a horse’s rump. It does NOT make you a man. It makes you a complete jackass.

Selling Us Out? Again?
Obama to ease US-India export controls, boost trade
President Barack Obama will announce the easing of US controls on exports to India when he addresses business leaders here on Saturday in a move to boost trade between the two countries, the White House said.
Uh….what do we produce? Do we still have anything “Made in the U.S.A.”. Oh, sure, some, but mostly what we’ve been exporting to India is jobs. Is he planning on exporting the rest of ‘em over there too? 
Obama is announcing trade deals worth $10 billion with India that are expected to create 54,000 US jobs. Obama is expected to make the announcements in a speech to US and Indian business executives on Saturday on the first day of his 10-day, four-country Asia trip.
We export jobs TO foreign countries. We import workers FROM foreign countries. How does this help the U.S. workers? You know the ones….all 14.8 MILLION of them? As one comment from the U.S. notes: “…we should develop our own technologies and protect it to prosper.” Honestly, I do not believe Obama actually WANTS the U.S. to prosper.
Curious. Shouldn’t it actually be the private companies who make deals with other companies, free trade back and forth type thing? Instead of someone who has NO idea how businesses run? Just wondering.

Make It Go Away!
After the Democrats’ colossal defeat Tuesday, House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) is poised to become the 61st Speaker of the House in January.
But where does that leave Pelosi? She won re-election to her seat in San Francisco. So she could remain in Congress as just a rank-and-file lawmaker. But does Pelosi want to stick around as the House’s top Democrat? And does she have the support to do that?
I’m fairly sure most people have some redeeming qualities, but as far as Pelosi goes, I have my doubts.
“She’s taking the temperature of the (Democratic) caucus,” said one senior House Democratic aide who asked not to be identified.
I would hope that the Dems would have figured out that one of the reasons they lost so BIG on Tuesday is because of Pelosi, and ask her to step back from her push for power. Pelosi was the face of Congress for 4 years, and we all knew it was plastic, in more ways than one.
Dozens of moderate House Democrats lost Tuesday. So the makeup of the House Democratic Caucus will be considerably more liberal than in the past. That phenomenon strengthens Pelosi’s power base. Plus, Pelosi is a prodigious fundraiser who has lots of chits out among her members.
It SHOULD have been the liberal Dems who lost dozens of seats, too. Well, maybe next time. 
If these folks don’t want to appear that they are puppets of Pelosi’s, perhaps they should rethink their support of her. Just a thought.
“With that big of a defeat, I think you shake up your leadership,” said Rep. Jim Matheson (D-UT), leader of the most-conservative bloc of Democrats in the House known as the Blue Dogs. “I think that’s what happens in the private sector when companies have performances that don’t work well. It happens in the sporting world when teams don’t do well. I think that applies to the caucus – the Democratic caucus as well.”
I didn’t think there were any blue dogs left.
Some Congressional sources speculate that Pelosi would be admitting defeat if she were to leave now, amid what even President Obama described as a “shellacking.”
“If she goes, it’s as though she’s accepting all the blame for what went wrong,” said one Capitol Hill source. “She can’t exit that way.”
Why the hell not? A grown up would be able to accept responsibility. Oh. Wait a minute. We’re talking about Pelosi here, aren’t we.
An administration official who spoke only on the condition that they not be identified indicated that President Obama will not weigh-in on who should be the Democrats’ top House leader.
And the laissez faire position of the White House is creating lots of consternation among Democrats.
“Why isn’t Obama involved?” questioned one Democratic Congressional aide. “He’s the President of the United States.”
He is? And here I thought he was any number of things, but being POTUS denotes leadership, and he’s DEFINITELY not a leader. Big spender. World traveler. Narcissist. Lots of adjectives, but leader ain’t one of ‘em.
As the House Democrats’ number two leader, Hoyer would be the obvious “viable” alternative to take the top job. In addition, Hoyer’s politics are moderate compared to Pelosi’s and he has significant inroads with Blue Dog Democrats.
If Hoyer is moderate, then Pelosi must be so far left, she’s upside down.
Regardless, House Democrats are in a stasis until Pelosi declares her intentions. And the lack of a speedy announcement by Pelosi appears is frustrating other Democrats in the leadership.
Whut? Are they waiting for her to pull their strings for them?
The longer this drags out, the more restless House Democrats will grow.
One Democratic aide summed it up like this: “First we had to go through the hell of Tuesday night and now this?”
Heh. Well, we’ve been going through hell for the past four years, since she took over the gavel. Welcome to our world.

ZoNation – Rally To Restore Sanity?
A Question
I’m quite curious. Who has decided that John Boehner will be the new Speaker? Now, don’t get me wrong, I rather like Boehner, but just because he’s been the minority leader, that doesn’t mean he’s automatically going to be the actual Speaker, does it? Honestly, ANYONE would be a major improvement after Queen Nanny, but shouldn’t there be some competition? There are quite a few who are qualified….Michelle Bachman, just being one of them. How about Paul Ryan? It seems Eric Cantor is throwing his hat into the ring, but I’d rather see someone a bit more reluctant. Great leaders are the ones who aren’t personally ambitious, in my humble opinion.
After all the hard work WE, The People put in to achieve a “right” majority, shouldn’t we have a bit of input on this issue? Who do WE want to set the tone in the House? Do we want the old establishment types? Or, will we insist on new blood in the leadership roles.
I’m just wondering if they’ll listen to us, or go about their merry way, assuming we’ll go back to sleep, and let them continue on the same path they were taking in 2006 when they LOST control. Personally, I want someone in that position with a BIG pair, and a strong backbone. Someone who will NOT bend under pressure, and bow the the establishment’s will. Someone who will stand up for US! You know….us little people…who pay your bloomin’ salary!
Just An FYI
We have returned home! After a few days in Vanderbilt, the Mr is healing, slowly but surely. The people at the hospital are more than competent, but I gotta tell ya, if we never go back there again, I’ll be REAL happy. That place is a maze, and I’d love to come face to face with the clown that designed it, cuz I’d like to smack um!
One nice service they do have over there is free valet parking. I tried to tip the guy, but was told they aren’t allowed to accept tips. Nice, but still….
So, when we were leaving today, the Mr was wheeled down by a woman who, honestly, I don’t think knows diddly about vehicles. The conversation went something like this:
Her: Let me have your ticket and I’ll give it to the valet.
Me: Ok. (Hands over ticket, woman takes it out to the valet dude, comes back.)
Her: What type of vehicle?
Me: Ford, silver, Sportrak.
Her: Ok. (a few minutes pass) Is that it?
Me: Uh…no. That’s a Buick. (blue)
Her: Is that it?
Me: No. That’s a Chevrolet. Sedan. Mine is a truck.
Her: Is that it?
Me: No. That’s a green minivan. Mine is a four door silver truck.
Her: Is that is?
(thinking seriously about banging my head against that brick wall)
Me: Um…no. That’s an SUV.
Her: Ok. Is that it?
Me: No.
Her: There’s a truck.
Me: No, that’s another SUV. A land yacht.
FINALLY,after a few more back and forths, my vehicle pulls up, and we make our escape! The only explanation I have? She was from Chicago.
Yep, we’re REAL happy to be back home.

On October 15, 2008, well after the financial collapse had begun, President Barack Obama promised the American people during the third presidential debate: “What I’ve done throughout this campaign is to propose a net spending cut.” The verdict is out on how many Americans believed President Obama then, but the verdict is in on his first two years in office: instead of a net spending cut, federal spending has exploded. Since 2008, federal spending has surged from $25,000 to $30,000 per household. And under President Obama’s budget it would reach $36,000 per household by 2020. Even if Congress allowed President Obama’s preferred tax hikes to become law, his budget would double the national debt to more than $20 trillion by 2020.
