Thinking “Out Loud”

There has been much talk lately, coming out of Washington….naturally, about the Republicans holding hostages.  Seriously?  Comparing your fellow Americans to terrorists is now the thing that gets Democrat lefties all excited?  This is what they call working together I guess.  Considering the Democrats haven’t ‘worked’ with anyone but themselves for the last couple of years, and has held AMERICA hostage with the continuous push of their socialist agenda, I find it rather disingenuous for them to bandying around such terms.  We do NOT want ObamaCare!  We do not AMNESTY for millions of illegal invaders!  We’re being “tortured” by those in D.C., and they have the cajones to spew such insults…at US?  I’m inclined to agree with Senator DeMint!  Scrap this deal!  Retain the tax rates and leave the unemployment as is….actually cut it!  We have already saddled our grandchildren with too much debt, and must work to resolve that issue….NOW!

And all because the Republicans tried to do what we told them to do….keep taxes low, no new spending and cut current spending.  We thought the message was pretty clear.  They got the extension for people to keep their own money, even those evil ‘millionaires’ that make more than $250K…you know the ones who actually create the jobs?  But they also saddled us with more spending by extending what was a generous 26 weeks of unemployment to 2 years?  (It was 99 weeks, and they added 13 months, so wouldn’t that make it longer?  I’m a little fuzzy on this.)  So, who was holding who hostage?   There’s not even a guarantee that people will be able to keep their money.  Some say it’s a no brainer.  Well, obviously, there are quite a few in Washington with no brains.  :?

Even with a 2 year extension, it’s my opinion that this will do little to alleviate the worries of small business owners. What happens at the end of those two years? Will Congress insist on stealing more money to pay for socializing the country and keep people in poverty? I don’t have much faith in Republicans to steer back on course, and none at all in Democrats.

The current occupant made all kinds of promises, most of which rational thinking people realized were nothing more than empty, to fool the non thinking into voting for him.  He was gonna SAVE the world.  Gimme a break!  What he was telling you was that he was going to make sure you never left poverty, and those who weren’t the working poor, he was gonna make sure you joined your fellow citizens.  Working hard for what you have means nothing if someone is going to come along and tell you they believe you have too much, and take it away to give to someone who hasn’t gotten off their hind end in 10 years to achieve anything for him/herself.  Redistribute wealth and all that!  What I’m wondering is if those who bought into his rhetoric really believe you can have something for nothing.  There’s a saying….nothing is free.  That happens to be true.  Oh, there might not be a dollar value put on something, but in the long run, you WILL pay.  Either with the loss of dignity, or the complete loss of liberty.

    OT, sorry!

Not all idiots are in Wash,DC.
In the weird worldview of the Tenn ACLU, it would seem
religious freedom flourishes by denying religious freedom to Christians.

TN: ACLU warns schools about holiday activities

    We read:

“The American Civil Liberties Union of Tennessee has warned school officials across the state about holiday celebrations.

In a letter to the 137 public school superintendents, the group reminded them that holiday celebrations focusing primarily on one religious holiday [That wouldn't be Christmas, would it?] amount to a school’s unconstitutional endorsement of religion.

The ACLU said in a news release that it was responding to numerous complaints from families about such school activities.

Hedy Weinberg, ACLU executive director in Tennessee, said it is especially important for people to embrace the constitutional guarantees of the First Amendment in order to ensure that religious freedom flourish

Over 2 years of Unemployment Benefits?  That’s not generous, it’s nuts. Why even look for work until sometime in Year 2? And it’s time for the ACLU and the rest of the left-wing grinches to take the proverbial long walk off a short pier. Unconstitutional endorsement of religion, say they? I don’t believe any of those communists have ever read the Constitution.

Not all idiots are in Wash,DC.;but, I wonder how many of them would be this DUMB???

From the web site: Watts up with that??

Cancun COP16 attendees fall for the old “dihydrogen monoxide” petition as well as signing up to cripple the U.S. Economy

Yeah, they signed up to ban water, you’d think some of these folks would be have enough science background (from their work in complex climate issues) to realize what they are signing, but sadly, no

“Over 2 years of Unemployment Benefits?”
    …………………

    Ahhh; actually, almost 3 years.

     99 weeks + 52 weeks(13 months) = 151 weeks, which is most of 3 years!!!!
