Largest Army In The World?

20 December 2010, 9:32 am. 2 Comments. Filed under 2nd Amendment.

America’s Hunters

The state of Wisconsin has gone an entire deer hunting season without someone getting killed. That’s great. There were over 600,000 hunters. Allow me to restate that number. Over the last two months, the eighth largest army in the world – more men under arms than Iran; more than France and Germany combined – deployed to the woods of a single American state to help keep the deer menace at bay. But that pales in comparison to the 750,000 who are in the woods of Pennsylvania this week. Michigan’s 700,000 hunters have now returned home. Toss in a quarter million hunters in West Virginia , and it is literally the case that the hunters of those four states alone would comprise the largest army in the world. America will forever be safe from foreign invasion of troops with that kind of home-grown firepower.

Hunting – it’s not just a way to fill the freezer. It’s a matter of national security!

Now you know why the liberal anti-gun group wants to take the guns away.

Coffee & Chicory

They’ve taken control of the ‘old’ media, so now they want control of ALL media….kind of like Chavez.  I’m sure that is going to go over REAL well on the left, since they don’t seem capable of controlling their own actions, but we on the right have a preference for that extremely important issue…..LIBERTY!  The Brits lost theirs a long time ago, if they ever really had it.

Memphis schools are in turmoil, and I don’t just mean the gang problems.  If the ministers really want to help the students by helping the teachers, perhaps they should take a good hard look at what the teachers are actually doing in the classroom…what they are teaching the kids.  What type of education did the TEACHER get at his/her college?  Was it factual, or did he/she learn how to make good little commies out the kids with the leftists agenda that is so prevalent in our public school system.  And it might not be a bad idea to bring back some serious corporal punishment.  Just a thought.  :)

When there is taxpayer money involved, they damn sure better make sure that money is not being spent on bonuses, or lavish trips.  I’d like to know how businesses that are getting my money are spending it.  It should be quite simple, yet why is it every level of government (read Democrat control) has to make it a major hush hush?  Just askin’.

So, the king is pushing to move the Ground Zero mosque to another location.  At this point in time, I don’t think building even one more mosque in this country is a good idea……anywhere!

I could say a lot of things about this, but then I’d be accused of being racist or a bigot or be told I just hate poor people, by just pointing out the obvious.  Suffice it to say, Democrat/union run states do not prosper.  Why?  Because they don’t understand in order to give someone else money, you have to steal it from someone else.  All the feel good programs do NOT eliminate poverty, they just make the citizens more and more dependent.

It’s a little difficult to consider talking about ‘peace’ when your ‘neighbors’ are constantly lobbing BOMBS at you!  Israel owes NO ONE an apology!

Obviously, Europe’s weather didn’t read this fairy tale*snicker* Not to worry, y’all are really cold, and it’s not really snowing, and there really is no ice.  It’s all your imagination!  Algore has said so!

If Latinos are the largest growing ‘voting group’ in California, then perhaps they need to start checking legal status for many of them.  The LEGAL immigrants have been lied to by the Democrats for so long, it’s fairly difficult to counter.  They don’t seem to understand the difference between legal, coming into the country through the proper channels, learning the language of the land, assimilating into their new home, and those who break through the back door, and expect us to welcome them with open arms.  Ain’t gonna happen!  It’s A CRIME!  Ever feel the need to smack the snot outta someone?  Well, this one is mine, on a regular basis!  They aren’t ‘undocumented workers’….they are CRIMINALS!

Obviously, some folks can’t leave their tribal mentality at home!  Perhaps such folks should be sent back, until they can learn how to behave like grown ups?  I have to ask…..why is the U.S. actually importing trouble?

Why is it so many actually CHOOSE to ignore the very real threats, all over the world, of Islam?  If you have been told repeatedly someone is going to kill you, do you invite them into your home?

It’s not ‘nature’ that has been sending the warnings, but One MUCH higher up.  We’ve had the warnings, right in front of faces for a couple of thousand years, and have decided to ignore them.

Just what Chicago needs…..another left wing loon as mayor.  Hasn’t the city already slid down the political cesspool of corruption?  Shouldn’t they actually have a mayor who isn’t in it for the graft?  sigh…..

If my sleep pattern stick to it’s recent “norm”, odds are I’ll be awake for the lunar eclipse, for all the good it will do.  It’s suppose to be cloudy around these parts.  Naturally!  :?

Don’t Ask, DO Tell?

19 December 2010, 11:38 am. 4 Comments. Filed under Opinion, U.S. Military.

I have a dilemma. On one hand, my faith tells me that homosexuality is wrong. Says so, right there in the Bible. There’s a darn good reason God gave us laws about such things. What is natural, and what is NOT natural (existing in or formed by nature) are pretty much dictated by my faith first, and rational thinking second. Think wall sockets, and electrical plugs. :?

On the other hand, I don’t give a flying flip if you’re gay. I don’t avoid gay people. I’ve known many gay people. Good people, too! Most don’t bother me a bit. Some I’ve met, well, they just give me the heebie jeebies, but then I’ve met quite a few of the heterosexuals types that give me the heebie jeebies, as well. Most of them would be considered liberal/progressive. (Shoot, let’s just call ‘em what they are….socialists!) If I was one of those people who could afford to have my home professionally decorated, I sure wouldn’t seek out a straight person to do the job!

So, when it comes to the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell….I’m a bit torn. I don’t care if gays serve in the military. Really. Many have served honorably. My concern isn’t over that at all. Do I think they should be kicked out, as many have been in the last years? All depends. What were they actually doing? Did someone just happen to see said soldier looking at muscle magazines, get their knickers in a twist, and go blabbing to the commander? Was the person assaulting someone? Or, was it just the fact that the person let it slip that he or she had a ‘different’ preference? Unless said troop was actually committing some crime, or prancing around the barracks, wearing a Liza Minnelli (Cabaret style) get up, belting out show tunes….. Well, then what difference would it make?

No, my concern is for the safety and well being of ALL the troops, that actually do the heavy lifting, the majority of whom are uncomfortable with serving along side homosexuals. I believe all people, no matter their sexual orientation, color, religion, origin, should be treated the same. Only when they behave in a manner contrary to civilized peoples, should they be singled out for punishment. I also do not believe that ‘being gay’ is a ‘civil right‘.

A civil right is an enforceable right or privilege, which if interfered with by another gives rise to an action for injury. Examples of civil rights are freedom of speech, press, and assembly; the right to vote; freedom from involuntary servitude; and the right to equality in public places. Discrimination occurs when the civil rights of an individual are denied or interfered with because of their membership in a particular group or class. Statutes have been enacted to prevent discrimination based on a person’s race, sex, religion, age, previous condition of servitude, physical limitation, national origin, and in some instances sexual preference. (source)

As I said, no one should be treated differently for any reason.  No one group of citizens is more entitled to anything than another group of citizens.  (Affirmative action has actually done a lot more harm than good.)  This term has been misused on many occasions, to the point it has actually lost its effect in the real world.  The actual rights of black people, as legal citizens of the United States, had been violated for many decades, by Democrats, and such actions of the 50s and 60s by civil rights activists were well placed.  I well remember the separate water fountains, restrooms, etc.  I do not remember ever seeing a “heterosexual only” water fountain, or waiting room at the bus station.  I am not aware of any gay person being denied the right/duty to vote.  Nope.  Has never happened to my knowledge.

My question:  Do recruiters ask all recruits about their sexuality?  Will Sgt. Signup ask someone if said hopeful future soldier, “Are you now, or have you ever been a heterosexual?”  Of course not.  Should they be asked the opposite?  Nope.  Hence…”don’t ask, don’t tell”.  It’s not that complicated.   I’m not aware of anything in the Constitution that would deny a person serving his/her country due to sexual orientation.  Nor, am I aware that flaunting sexuality has ever been an appropriate behavior.

Our society is sexualizing everything. Life is not about sex, although it does promote life. :D We have sexualized our children. We have sexualized commercials. We have sexualized all forms of entertainment. Is it really necessary to sexualize our military as well?

Psalm 25

19 December 2010, 7:00 am. Comments Off. Filed under Faith.

1 Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul.
2 O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.
3 Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.
4 Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.
5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
6 Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy loving kindnesses; for they have been ever of old.
7 Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness’ sake, O LORD.
8 Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.
9 The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.
10 All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
11 For thy name’s sake, O LORD, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great.
12 What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.
13 His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.
14 The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.
15 Mine eyes are ever toward the LORD; for he shall pluck my feet out of the net.
16 Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I am desolate and afflicted.
17 The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my distresses.
18 Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.
19 Consider mine enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred.
20 O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee.
21 Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee.
22 Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles.

A Thought or Two

18 December 2010, 10:04 am. Comments Off. Filed under Opinion.

Things have been a little, shall we shall….scattered around the Ol’ Broad’s digs, to say the least.  I have been paying attention to what is going on in the outside world, somewhat.  I just haven’t let the disaster that is Washington, D.C. ‘rule’ my life.  There have been much more important things going on, and my priority is with my family, and friends.

While, I will admit, what happens up there in the Swamp does affect life down here in Podunk, I’m finding myself coming to the conclusion, it doesn’t matter what We, The People demand of them.  WE want the duly elected Congress to honor their oath to uphold the U.S. Constitution.  What we see is a blatant disregard of the will of the people.  Congress, both houses, have shown themselves to be oblivious to real world, the lives of REAL Americans.

I decided to turn on the idjit box this morning, just to hear how the Senators are spinning things concerning the DADT and DREAM Act.  What I’ve seen so far, the men and women who actually DO the fighting on the front lines, will likely be leaving the service in droves, if DADT is repealed.  How do they think we are going to have a strong military if so many leave?

I have an idea what those military men and women can do, once they leave.  Many should form a Border Army!  A private one, like the kind that have been used in Iraq, but instead of protecting a bunch of foreigners, who want to kill them on the other side of the world, why not have said private army on our borders?  Not vigilantes, as some would say, but an actual ARMED response to the invasion from the south, not all of whom are from Central America.  There are many who are coming in from those countries who promote ‘jihad’.  Who do you think is teaching the cartels their methods of barbarianism?

That way, the flood of ILLEGAL invaders could be stemmed.  We would actually SAVE money!  This army would also aid in rounding up all the ILLEGALS that are already here, and escort them back to the border, at gun point if need be, and send them packing.  Can you imagine how much money would be available to be used for OUR children’s education and health care, instead of footing the bill for a bunch of criminals?

Now, I don’t care if someone is a homosexual or not.  That issue is between them and God.  However, those who are pushing for the repeal of DADT, aren’t really concerned with the safety and well being of our men and women of the military.  This really isn’t about those involved at all.  This is more about a political agenda to ‘normalize’ something that isn’t really normal at all.  Why?  To what purpose?  To erode this nation even further from the inside?

They’ve done a lot of that in recent decades.  Perhaps this is just one more step to the destruction of the United States of America.  We are no longer united, and will be even less so by the action of 111th Congress.  I pray that in future years, we find our way back to the Republic!
