Elizabeth Edwards – Rest In Peace
Elizabeth Edwards, Powerful Force Behind Husband’s Political Career, Loses Battle With Cancer
Elizabeth Edwards, who played a pivotal role in her husband’s political career and captured the public’s sympathy with her lengthy battle with breast cancer and her estrangement from John Edwards over his highly publicized affair, died Tuesday, Fox News has confirmed. She was 61.
Edwards stopped receiving treatment this month when doctors told her it would be unproductive.
Watching someone die of such a devastating disease has got to be the most difficult any person could ever do. And my prayers are with her children. I won’t say I agreed with Elizabeth Edwards stand on a great many things, but I do know a strong woman when I see one, and, in my opinion, she was a strong woman. Personally, I would have ripped somebody’s lips off, but that’s just me.

Obama Announces ‘Framework’ for Deal With Congress to Extend Bush-Era Tax Cuts
President Obama and White House officials underscored the need to compromise Monday in unveiling a congressional
deal to avoid the expiration of the Bush-era tax cuts at the end of the year, but some of the toughest critics of Obama’s version of compromise come from within his own party.
Democrats have generally argued that the tax cuts should be extended for the middle class — but not for the wealthiest 2 percent. Republicans have argued that the cuts should be extended for all taxpayers.
Of course the liberals all have their knickers in a twist! After all, aren’t they the one who want to take away your hard earned money, and spend it where THEY see fit? Like on some redundant social program? Spread the wealth! Problem is, it’s not theirs to spread, and that annoys them to no end. They were counting on Obama to actually be a leader to their socialist movement in this country, and I guess he’s finding that the Republicans aren’t total roll overs. Yeah, there are still some, but we did managed to find a few with a set that will stand up to the bullying, the constant crisis NON crisis. For that, I’m extremely grateful. And will be till they cave the next time.
Unfortunately, the libs did get an extension of unemployment benefits. Benefits for whom though? Oh, there are people out there who are looking daily for a job, of any kind, to feed their families, and pay their bills. Problem is, there are just as many who have decided….hey….free money. I don’t have to work till it runs out, then maybe I’ll get up off my ass and look around. We’re creating an even greater entitlement mentality than we had before. And this is helping the country get back on its feet……HOW?

I read….a LOT! The last few days, I’ve actually been engrossed in a NON fiction. Typically, I prefer fiction cuz I can get enough reality watching the news, and just living life in general. Fiction is a great escape. But I have to say, having the computer off, the phone turned off, and the Kindle on…..I have been totally caught up in non-fiction. Now, I know…there will be some yahoos who will say it IS fiction, but to those yahoos I would say….your memory sucks! It’s that simple! Some folks are so caught up in their hatred for anything to do with George W. Bush, they can’t see what’s been right in front of them for the last 10 years. Well, that’s ok….maybe if they read this book, they’ll actually learn something outside of their own little narrowed view of the world.
So, I repeat…..HIGHLY recommended!
I have said before, he made a lot of decisions I didn’t agree with, and was no where near as conservative as I would have preferred, but after reading this book, I have gained quite a bit of insight, and am thankful for all he did to keep our country safe. I still think he should have kicked some libs ass when they started behaving like whiny spoiled children, but then he’s got a hell of a lot more class than I do, so I suppose he handled some situations much better than most of us would have, and certainly a HELL of a lot better than the current occupant of the White House.

Legendary Cowboys, SMU quarterback Don Meredith dies
Meredith died at Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center, a hospital spokesman confirmed this morning. The Meredith family’s attorney, Lisa Fine Moses, said his wife, Susan, and daughter Mary were at his side.
Meredith had battled emphysema in recent years and suffered a minor stroke in 2004.
He was the only living Cowboys Ring of Honor member unable to attend the franchise’s September 2009 inaugural game at Cowboys Stadium.
Meredith was the original Dallas Cowboy, signing a personal services contract on Nov. 28, 1959, two months before the franchise officially gained admittance into the NFL.
I grew up on the Dallas Cowboys. My first exposure to football, was the Cowboys. My dad was a Cowboy fanatic, so, by default, our family became Cowboy fanatics, to a lesser degree. My mom’s all time favorite Cowboy……Dandy Don. One class act! They just don’t make ‘m like that anymore!

Last Friday the Labor Department reported that private sector employers added an anemic 50,000 net jobs to the U.S. economy in November. This is far fewer than what is needed to absorb discouraged workers reentering the workforce or population growth. As a result, unemployment rose to 9.8 percent, marking the 19th consecutive month that our nation’s unemployment rate topped 9 percent, a post–World War II record.
Faced with this record breaking unemployment, what did the leftist Senate majority do the very next day? They voted to raise taxes, of course. Fortunately, a bipartisan coalition of Republican and Democratic Senators defeated the Obama tax hikes, setting the stage for an all-or-nothing tax showdown this week.

I find it both amusing, and more than a little disconcerting, there are so many pushing the ‘class warfare’ BS. EVERYBODY will have their taxes go up on 1 January. So, instead of giving relief to everyone, there are many who don’t understand where jobs actually come from…..and it ain’t the blue collar worker, or the union member. Rich folks own businesses, and if they don’t have money to hire, there aren’t jobs. And if there aren’t jobs, there is no income tax….only tax money going out to those who are unable to find jobs because the companies don’t feel stable enough to add more workers. We NEED the ‘evil rich folks’!
Excuse me? How are we suppose to trust the police to be law abiding citizens if we can’t trust them to actually BE law abiding citizens. Abuse hurts EVERYONE! These clowns need to find other means of employment! I understand the job is stressful, and sometimes you bring your work home with you, but if you are that stressed out, go to the freakin’ gym, and keep your hands OFF your spouse and children! It’s that damn simple!
This was a big secret? Uh….no…actually….a great many of this knew this already!
If they choose to live in the 14th century, that’s their prerogative, but stop trying to shove it down freedom loving folks throats. We have a system that works pretty good, when it’s followed, and we don’t need no stinkin’ sharia!
I noticed gas prices had made a pretty big jump around here last week too. From $2.54 to $2.72, and in some places $280. Thanks ever so much D’Bama. That’s a mighty fine decision you made to ban drilling, while other countries are taking advantage of OUR coastline! Asshat!
Who decides what is valuable to the public? Some mind find MSNBC worth their time. I don’t. There’s is so much hatred coming from their so called ‘reporters’, I’d have to get drunk before spending my time watching their drivel. Some find consider Jon Stewart an actual journalist (no wonder there are so many ill informed people….who vote), when he’s nothing more than a comedienne. Some faceless bureaucrat can NOT decide what’s important to me. I know the truth when I hear it, and I am quite capable of checking out all sides of an issue. It’s not up to the feckless weasels to decide.
Didn’t the voters in California overwhelming reject same sex marriages? This shouldn’t even be an issue before any court! The people spoke, now, enforce the law. Quite simple actually!
So, Facebook is going to screw everything up again. I don’t need them to ‘emphasize’ my personality. I do just fine on my own! Ol’ Broad…..with attitude! Not hard to figure out!

Evil Destroys….
And it is NOT acceptable for evil to win.
Vandals Torch Christmas Charity Van
Someone set fire to a van on the South Side last month and may have destroyed the Christmas hopes of hundreds of children.
The charity Kidz Korna each Christmas gives away thousands of presents, but vandals last month set fire to the van they used to pick up donated toys.
“The countdown is on for us,” said Delece Williams, the founder of the charity which helps children who’ve been exposed to violence and child abuse.
Williams and other volunteers now worry they won’t be able to get enough gifts for children in need.
We don’t live anywhere near Chicago, but if we did, I’d battle my way through Wal Mart, or some other such place and load a cart full of toys to donate to this organization. I hope there will be folks up that way who will do just that!
“We don’t want to let these young people down,” she said, adding that the holiday gift program is one of their most popular events and a way to reach out to the community.
“I remember seeing last year around this time, a line from that door, all way past 80th Street waiting for toys,” Community Activist Lamont Coakley said at a Thursday press conference. “It’s sad to say that they might not get served this year.”
Volunteers are hoping someone steps forward before it’s too late.
I’m praying a LOT of volunteers will step forward. I know there are people up there with big hearts. And unless you own a toy store and are willing to lose some of your profits, then it will be left to the individuals to help this organization.
