It’s been an unbelievably depressing day…nonstop rain…which normally would be a perfect day for snooping the blogs. Just having “one of THOSE days” I reckon. 
Question
Can someone please explain to me why we allow historic churches in the U.S. to be torn down, yet spend HUNDREDS of MILLIONS of taxpayer dollars to fix up mosques in foreign countries?

First female VP candidate Ferraro dies at 75
Geraldine Ferraro, who in 1984 became the first woman to run for vice president on a major party ticket, only to lose in a landslide, died Saturday. She was 75.
Ferraro died at Massachusetts General Hospital, where she was being treated for blood cancer. She died just before 10 a.m., said Amanda Fuchs Miller, a family friend who worked for Ferraro in her 1998 Senate bid and was acting as a spokeswoman for the family.
Obviously, I did not vote for the Mondale/Ferraro ticket in 1984, but I always had a sincere admiration for the lady. One of the trail blazers for women.

Former President Jimmy Carter to visit Cuba
Former President Jimmy Carter and wife Rosalynn will visit Cuba next week to meet with President Raul Castro and discuss ways to improve U.S.-Cuba relations, a Carter spokeswoman said on Friday.
The visit, made at the invitation of the Cuban government, raised the possibility that Carter would get involved in the case of U.S. aid contractor Alan Gross, recently sentenced to 15 years in prison for providing illegal Internet access to Cuban groups.

Thousands of Christians Displaced in Ethiopia After Muslim Extremists Torch Churches, Homes
Thousands of Christians have been forced to flee their homes in Western Ethiopia after Muslim extremists set fire to roughly 50 churches and dozens of Christian homes.
At least one Christian has been killed, many more have been injured and anywhere from 3,000 to 10,000 have been displaced in the attacks that began March 2 after a Christian in the community of Asendabo was accused of desecrating the Koran.
While such actions truly saddens me, it is not surprising. The persecution of Christians by Muslims is not a new thing, it has been going on for hundreds of years. Those who insist Islam is a religion of peace are willfully ignorant of the true purpose…..domination.
“We believe there are elements of the Kawarja sect and other extremists who have been preaching religious intolerance in the area,” he said at a Saturday press conference. “In previous times, we have cracked down on Kawarja because they were involved in violence. Since then they have changed their tactics and they have been able to camouflage their activities through legal channels.”
There is no religious tolerance in Islam! When will people wake up to that FACT!
“Under the Ethiopian constitution we are supposed to have freedom of religion, but Muslim leaders in our town don’t allow us that right,” the source said.

In the southern town of Moyale, a Christian was sentenced to three years in prison in November for allegedly writing “Jesus is the Lord” in a copy of the Koran, Compass Direct News reported. Christians from the area told the website he had actually written the phrase on a piece of cloth.
So, a Christian can be sentenced to prison on the lies of Muslims? I’m actually surprised he wasn’t beheaded. Their evil book tells them to murder and destroy.
“The violence against Christians in Ethiopia is alarming because Ethiopian Muslims and Christians used to live together peacefully. Besides, it’s extremely disconcerting that in Ethiopia, where Christians are the majority, they are also the victims of persecution,” Jonathan Racho, ICC’s Regional Manager of Africa and South Asia, told FoxNews.com.
It’s not going to stop there. This cult of murder will continue to spread. In countries that are suppose to have religious freedom, like the United States, the freedom to practice such evil will used against those who actually ARE tolerant of others. We have already seen plenty of examples. How to stop it? One simple solution….refuse entry. Clamp down on those who are preaching their hatred in our cities, and STOP, for the love of all that is holy, the spread of such evil.

President Obama’s hometown of Chicago is nearly 1,000 miles from the Gulf of Mexico. But like many other communities across the country, it is suffering the consequences of his Administration’s anti-drilling agenda.
Illinois accounted for $376.2 million in shallow-water drilling expenditures over the past three years, according to an analysis by 14 oil and gas companies that spend money on vendors and subcontractors. The bulk of that money—$242.2 million—was spent in the Chicago district represented by Representative Danny Davis (D–IL).
It’s fresh evidence that Obama’s anti-drilling agenda is having a ripple effect across America since last year’s oil spill, claiming jobs not just in Louisiana and Texas but also in communities far removed from the shipyards in the Gulf of Mexico.

Islamic Jihad warns against ‘Zionist aggression’
Senior Islamic Jihad leader in the Gaza Strip Khaled al-Tash said that his terrorist group is ready to make moves to calm the situation in the Strip but that things could evolve if “Zionist aggression” continues, Israel Radio reported Thursday.
The statement came as rockets exploded deeper and deeper into Israel, striking north of Ashdod near Yavne on Thursday, for the first time since Operation Cast Lead in 2009.
Let’s see if I’ve got this right….terrorists MURDER 5 family members, including 3 small children, decapitating a 3 month old baby. Aqsa Martyrs Brigades claims responsibility. Israel retaliates by refusing to be victims.

March 3 During the night, Palestinians in the Gaza Strip fired a projectile at the Sdot Negev Regional Council.
March 4 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip fired two Qassam rockets at Israel.
March 5 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip fired a rocket at an unspecified site in the western Negev.
March 9 After nightfall, a Qassam rocket fired by Palestinians in the Gaza Strip landed in an open area in the Eshkol Regional Council.
March 18 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip fired three rockets at Israel.
March 19 During the night, Palestinians in the Gaza Strip fired fifty mortars on Israeli towns, these attacks resulted in two wounded.
March 23 At 5:30 am, Palestinians in the Gaza Strip launched a Grad missile at Beersheba. Four hours later, Palestinians fired another Grad missile at Beersheba. Later, Palestinians fired at least five mortar shells at Israel from the northern Gaza Strip.
March 24 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip fired twelve projectiles at Israeli towns throughout the day, reaching deep into the country. During the night, Palestinians fired a Qassam rocket at the western Negev. In the morning, Palestinians fired a second Qassam rocket which landed in an open area south of Ashkelon. Shortly before 11 am, a third Palestinian rocket fired from the northern Gaza Strip exploded in an open area in the Eshkol Regional Council. Around 12:15 pm, a fourth Palestinian Qassam rocket landed in an open area in the Sha’ar Hanegev Regional Council. Just before 2 pm, Palestinians fired a fifth rocket at the Eshkol Regional Council. A rocket was fired at Ashdod. In the afternoon, a rocket landed in Sderot.
Who is the ‘aggressor’? Uh huh. That’s what I thought.
At a press conference in Gaza on Thursday, Tash claimed that Israel was responsible for the current escalation and that if it “stops its aggression,” the terror organization would respect understandings reached after Operation Cast Lead not to fire missiles into Israeli territory.
You’ll excuse me if I find this statement less that credible. I’ll be perfectly honest! I find it absolutely amazing that Israel has as much patience as she does. Given the constant attack on her citizens, I don’t understand why they haven’t just gone ahead and done some serious carpet bombing!

What happens when a city buys the liberal dream hook, line and sinker? Just take a look at the City of Detroit. The once-great city lost 237,493 residents over the last decade according to the 2010 Census, bringing it to 713,777 – a population plunge of 25%. That’s its lowest population since 1910, and it marks the city’s fall from a 1950s peak of two million, over 60%. And that’s just the people who can afford to leave.
Detroit, once known as “the great arsenal of democracy,” has made headlines of late for its notorious fall from grace. The “Big Three” automakers are no longer the biggest, falling behind their overseas rivals, and the Michigan economy lost 450,000 manufacturing jobs over the past 10 years all while Detroit lost population. And while the Motor City suffers unemployment from a decimated automotive industry, it suffers crime, high taxes, poor city services, plummeting home values, and a public education system in shambles with a $327 million budget deficit and a 19 percent dropout rate. Is it any wonder people are leaving in droves?

Hazelwood Crackdown on Girl Scout Cookies
The city of Hazelwood says they do support the Girl Scouts but not when they are violating the home occupancy code.
They’d been warned, but the city says the Girl Scouts Abigail and Caitlin Mills continued to sell Girl Scout cookies from a stand in front of their home. A neighbor complained anonymously because of all the people and the traffic and the dogs barking at all the people and the traffic.
How do you ‘violate’ a home occupancy code when you are standing out front of your home? What does selling cookies have to do with such a code? A little explanation would be nice. But one feckless neighbor complains, and WHAM! Girls Scouts are bad. I rather doubt the girls are out there 24/7. Of course, with the “it’s all about ME” society we have now, I guess it’s not too surprising.
“Based on this complaint, the city of Hazelwood had to take action,” says spokesman Tim Davidson. He says it is also against city code to sell products from home.
So, I guess it’s against the law to sell Avon products too? That’s a home business. I’ve never heard of such a ridiculous “code”!
And while he has heard some complaints from residents that Hazelwood is being too harsh on the teens, Davidson says others have pointed out that one tenet of the Girl Scouts is good citizenship.
“The fact that we did have this code in place, it’s the responsibility of every good citizen to respect the laws that we have,” said Davidson.
Seig Heil! Let’s all goose step for stupidity! This isn’t about ‘good citizenship’. It’s nothing more than, once again, a minority of one dictating to the majority.
