Vermont’s Single-Payer Health Care Bill Ignites Debate Over Covering Illegal Immigrants

At least one roadblock stands in the way of Vermont’s path toward becoming the first state to adopt a single-payer health care system: coverage for illegal immigrants.

First question, why would anyone want socialized medicine? Has no one learned diddly from Cuba, Great Britain, etc? Second question: Who the hell cares what ILLEGALS want, or don’t want?

The state Senate, which passed its version of the bill this week, added a last-minute provision that would bar illegal immigrants from being covered under a state-run insurance program the bill envisions setting up called Green Mountain Care.

The move outraged immigrant advocates.

An immigrant is someone who comes in the front door, follows the rules, and adapts to their new environment, instead of trying to change it to exactly the same they came from. An ILLEGAL has no right to expect ANYTHING from the country they’ve broken into….ILLEGALLY!

“When we say health care is a human right, we mean for everybody who lives and works in Vermont regardless of legal status,” the Vermont Workers’ Center said in a statement.”We will not tolerate racial profiling and accept the unjust immigration and foreign policies of the federal government. We can do better than that.”

Hey, you commie bastards, how ’bout you remember what laws are for! To PROTECT legal citizens from criminal invaders. NO where does it state, anywhere, that health care is a ‘human right’. NO WHERE!  And what the hell does race have to do dick???  Criminals comes in all colors!  I’m getting extremely disgusted with these so called advocates aiding and abetting CRIMINALS!

Texas Bill Would Make Invasive Pat-Downs a Felony

A former Miss USA’s claims of being groped during a pat-down at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport could be a felony under a bill gaining momentum in the Texas Legislature.

The bill would make it illegal for a security officer to intentionally touch someone’s private areas — even atop clothing — unless they have probable cause to believe the person is carrying something illegal.

Bill sponsor State Rep. David Simpson says the searches are removing people’s dignity.

Yes, they are. Having been a gropee, before the major gropers got started, I can tell ya, it is beyond uncomfortable. And no offer of dinner? I don’t think so! Not only are they violating the 4th Amendment, the humiliation of such invasive actions can be quite emotionally damaging, especially to young travelers.

I’m hoping that other states will follow Texas’ lead, and inform the federal government that we will no longer be abused by their over reaching offenses.   Until the so called airport security actually starts targeting those who DO pose a threat to our nation, I will NOT be flying…..anywhere!

Three Convicted in Terror-Related Cases Later Granted U.S. Citizenship by Obama Administration

“One of the individuals was naturalized in late 2009. The other two were naturalized in 2010,” says the e-mail from the GAO.

Would someone please explain to me why this administration thinks granting citizenship to convicted TERRORISTS was a good idea??????

Evil Oil

Oh yeah….real evil.  Problem is, it’s not so much the oil companies that are evil.  Compare how much profit  the oil companies (in this case ‘evil’ Exxon) makes compared to the how much state governments suck from your pocket.

“For every gallon of gasoline, diesel or finished products we manufactured and sold in the United States in the last three months of 2010, we earned a little more than 2 cents per gallon. That’s not a typo. Two cents.”

Look real well at the chart now….

See the difference?  It’s not the oil company that is bilking you…it’s the taxes.

By state:

Now, with just taking a cursory glance at this map, I’d have to say, on average, the more “progressive” the state, the higher the taxes.  You want to complain about gas prices, talk to the libs!  For the love of pete, STOP electing these morons!  And while you’re at it, you Obamabots…you might want to have a serious conversation with your messiah, since HE is the one that refuses to allow American companies to drill.  Oh, he’ll let FOREIGN companies drill OUR oil, but not us.

While some folks are pushing to stop drilling completely for oil, take into consideration just some of the products that are MADE from oil:

Heart Valves
Telephones
Deodorant
Rubbing Alcohol
Hearing Aids
Motorcycle helmets
Shoes
Safety glass
Toilet seats
Denture adhesive
Aspirin
Fan belts
Antifreeze
Tires
Dishwashing liquids
Toothbrushes
Toothpaste
Eyeglasses
Life jackets
Insect repellent
Anesthetics
Artificial Limbs
Bandages
Dentures
Antihistamines
Cortisone
Roofing

And that’s just a VERY few!  How will your life be improved without such items, hmmmm???

The Promise of ‘Forever’

FYI: I did NOT watch any of the coverage of this pageant. I wish them well, but I honestly don’t give a flip if another ‘royal’ gets married. People get married every day. And this particular wedding is no more important than than anyone else’s wedding.

Marriage Is an Ideal, Not a Fairy Tale
The Foundry

As many as two billion people — about a third of the world — were expected to watch today’s British royal wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton.

The global euphoria highlights the enduring ideal of marriage. For all the extravagance and fanfare of a future monarch’s wedding, we recognize in it some of our deepest human aspirations and the shared nobility of the institution of marriage.

That same chord was struck 30 years ago, as the world watched another royal wedding on July 29, 1981. As ABC’s Ted Koppel commented that evening: “Today’s marriage between Charles and Diana was … a hugely magnified version of what most of us hope for, the idealized beginning of what is meant to ripen into the perfect partnership of a man and a woman.”

University of Wisconsin Considering Punishing Doctors Who Issued Sick Notes to Protesters

Some of the doctors at the University of Wisconsin who gave out sick notes to union supporters skipping work to protest face punishment ranging from written reprimands to docked pay and loss of leadership positions.

That’s it? They commit fraud, and they’ll get a slap on the hand? How about loss of job? If they did it once, and are not truly punished, they WILL do it again. What’s to say these are the types who write unneeded prescriptions? Not saying they are, but if they don’t believe the rules apply to them, then what is to stop them from breaking other rules, as serious, even not more so, in the future?

“Personnel action will be based on the specific nature of the offense and the level of the physician’s involvement,” the statement said.

Pfft! Are these the types of physicians we’d put in charge of our healthcare? No integrity? I sure as hell wouldn’t!

The doctors handed out sick notes to union supporters so they could protest on Feb. 19. against Gov. Scott Walker’s budget bill calling for an end to collective bargaining for most state workers. Many were teachers who could be disciplined for missing work without a legitimate excuse.

“Who COULD be disciplined”? How about a very large pink slip? They obviously didn’t give a damn about the students they were hired to teach. None of this is about the kids. It’s about their fat benefits and pension, bill footed by the tax payers! That’s what union thugs do! The extort, lie, cheat, and threaten to get their way. To hell with everyone else!

Tennessee death toll from storms rises to 33

Storm deaths reached 33 in Tennessee on Thursday with persistent violent weather stretching almost 200 miles from southeast Tennessee to its northeast corner.

The deaths confirmed Thursday included nine in Hamilton and Bradley counties, six in Greene County, four in Bledsoe County, two in Johnson County, and one in Sequatchie, Franklin and Washington counties.

Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam and First Lady Crissy Haslam offered their condolences to all of the families across the state affected by the terrible storms, especially those who lost loved ones.

I am grateful the death toll wasn’t higher. Our prayers are with all those, in all states, who have suffered losses.

Why do Democrats insist on murdering babies?  I wonder if they will be covered in blood when they stand before the Creator of ALL life?

Usually, I love springtime in the South.  This year, not so much.

Any kind of ‘muslim unity‘ would not mean peace for Israel.  Or anywhere else, for that matter.

If a person is on a terrorist watch list, how do they buy guns?  I would assume they had done something suspicious to get on that list.  If not, then why are they on it?

Please, keep your murderous trash on THAT side of the border!

If you own stock in Facebook, sounds like you’d have a hard time getting rid of it.

Now, why don’t WE do something like this, instead of pussy footing around with violators?

Borrowing from Peter to pay Paul is NOT paying off your debts!

They ‘suspect’ a criminal act?  Yeah…I’d say when fourteen people are blown up in a muslim country, there is something ‘criminal’ about it.  :?

Y’know….if Captain D’Blivous and company would just get the hell out of the way, I’ve NO doubt we could have been on the road to REAL recovery.  But, no, he believes he has all the answers when he doesn’t even know the question.

There are no atheists in fox holes!

Obviously, there are some really stupid people in positions of authority.  And people wonder why there is so much fraud?

Way to go, dear lady!  You show ‘em!  :D

I’m not Catholic, but if I was, he’d be a damn good reason to leave.

If they are attempting to turn Marines into wimps, they are in for a HUGE surprise.  How many good men and women will our military lose because of a small minority taking over?  No, two men kissing is NOT the same as a man and a woman kissing!

One down.  49 more to go!

The inconsistencies of politicians is, quite frankly, mind boggling.  Then again, flapping in the wind is what they do.

He claims to be a Christian, so you’d think he’d have serious concerns, but sitting in a pew in a church doesn’t make him one, anymore than sitting in a garage makes you a car.

They are not liberals, they are socialists, and the MAJORITY of the country is NOT in favor of all his changes.  One term is one too many!  God help us if we get him shoved down our throats for a second term!

Such an expression of ‘love’ should earn him the same fate.

Muslims will lie to the world.  It’s what they do.  I suppose the UN finally admitting Syria was building a reactor is a step in the right direction, but I wouldn’t count on it happening too often.

I am one of the 61%.  Who are the other 39%?

Will Leon Panetta Ensure That America Is Defended?
The Foundry

Amid a continuing war in Afghanistan, a new operation in Libya, ongoing military efforts in Iraq and a failing foreign policy doctrine, President Barack Obama has proposed cutting the already overstretched U.S. military by $400 billion. And today, he is expected to nominate CIA Director Leon Panetta to serve as Secretary of Defense, replacing the retiring Robert Gates. As Panetta stands for confirmation, the Senate must ask whether Panetta is the right man for the job of helping to provide for America’s defense.

Obama’s Budget: More Waste, Fraud, and Self-Abuse
by Ann Coulter

In a priceless formulation in his budget speech two weeks ago, Obama said that Americans look at the poor and say, “There but for the grace of God go I.” And so, in the president’s words, “we contribute to programs like Medicare and Social Security.”

Except we don’t “contribute.” We are compelled under threat of imprisonment to take out a joint checking account with the government. Ask Wesley Snipes what happens when you fail to “contribute” sufficient alms to Uncle Sam. It’s easy to find him: He’s sitting in the McKean Federal Correctional Institution in Pennsylvania.

The downside of Obama’s exponentially expanding government — to the detriment of the private sector — is that it is now impossible for young people to find work.
