Family gathering in Southwest Memphis ends in machete attack
What began Sunday as a family gathering in Southwest Memphis ended with an attack with a machete and an uncle in Shelby County Jail.

A short time later, Shannon allegedly chased his niece and her cousin outside with a machete, hitting the cousin with it once. Shannon fled when officers arrived and was caught after a short foot chase, according to the court document.
Since when is a machete a common household implement? I don’t know about you, but I’ve never had one in my home. Come to think of it, the only houses I EVER saw where a machete was a common household tool was in Thailand. Haven’t been there in a real long time.

Well, actually, we own one. My husband uses it when he’s clearing brush and cedar out here in the Texas hill country. But, then, we’d never use it on family. ha! I do believe alcohol was involved..don’t you?
Country…yes! City folk??? Hmmm…. Heh. Yep….odds are, there was a bit of alcohol involved.
My mother-in-law has one. I’m not sure if she would it, but she keeps it close to the bed!!! And I for one dont want to find out if she will use it or not .
LOL I must really be behind the times. Although, I can’t imagine why would we need one. There’s no jungle in our yard, and we don’t have coconuts falling off the trees. Heh.
Thus belies the truth in the saying, “When machetes are outlawed, only outlaws will have machetes”…
er, wait
Machetes don’t kill people, people kill mache… er
I did not have sexual relations with that machete!
hehheh (we have two, his and hers I guess)
Do not mix with alcohol. LOL
