New York law now makes choking a crime, results in 2,000 arrests

Strangulation, common in domestic abuse cases, is now a crime in New York and already 2,000 people have been arrested under the weeks-old law, authorities said on Thursday.

Police and prosecutors, who in the past had difficulty prosecuting such cases because of the lack of visible physical injuries, said the law clearly was needed.

Pardon my stupidity, but isn’t choking someone like, well….ASSAULT? And isn’t assault a crime? Whether it’s a spouse, or a total stranger?

Teen critically hurt in Negev attack; IAF strikes Gaza

An anti-tank missile shot from the Gaza Strip directly hit a school bus outside Kibbutz Sa’ad in the Sha’ar Hanegev Regional Council on Thursday, injuring two people. Defense Minister Ehud Barak ordered the IDF to respond speedily and to attack using all means necessary.


An Israeli attack helicopter machine-gunned a target in Gaza City after the missile attack, for the first time since Operation Cast Lead. A Reuters correspondent said the sound of heavy fire from the helicopter was audible in the center of the city.

Did the al-Reuters ‘correspondent’ mention the sounds of the missile attack on CHIDLREN? Did he happen to hear the screams of that CHILD and the driver?

IDF forces struck back at various locations throughout the strip. A 50-year-old man and at least eight people, including a 4-year-old girl were injured in IDF and IAF strikes, Palestinian medics said.

I’m afraid I can’t quite take the word of a “palestinian” anything. If a child was injured in response, then perhaps the child’s parents should work hard to get the terrorists out of the area!

In the Negev attack, the 13-year-old was in critical condition after paramedics managed to resuscitate him. He was airlifted to Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba where he was undergoing surgery. Soroka officials said that he was suffering from head injuries.

I send many prayers for the young one, and the family. I will also pray for the the little four year old, but I’m afraid I have little sympathy left for her family. I question whether they even love their children, they all seem so eager to sacrifice them to Moloch.

Forty-five rockets and mortar shells on Thursday afternoon were fired into Israel from the Gaza Strip in the span of three hours, according to a tweet by the IDF Spokesperson. Palestinian terror groups claimed that they had fired two longer-range rockets into Israel following the IDF strikes.

The murderous thugs attack, the IDF responds, but yet it’s the Israelis who are blamed. Does anyone else see this as COMPLETELY backwards?

When Wisconsin Democrats fled the state in order to avoid voting on splendiferous public sector union contracts, did they happen to notice that the rest of the country is in the midst of a massive recession?

For years, Democrats have been using taxpayer money so that their buddies in public sector unions never have to know when there’s a recession. People who are already suffering have to suffer more so that those who are doing pretty well don’t have to suffer at all.

The high salaries and magnificent benefits paid to government employees are used to fund the public sector unions, which then funnel a portion of that money back to the Democrats, who vote for the pay packages of government workers. The unions function as a pass-through from the taxpayers straight to Democrats running for re-election.

Big “L”

So, Time Magazine is doing it’s 100 most influential, or some nonsense like that, again. Honestly, there were many names I had never even heard of, so no, I guess they don’t influence me at all. Then, I came across a name I DID recognize: Feisal Abdul Rauf. You know….he’s the one that wants to build a Victory Mosque so close to where his fellow Muslims murdered nearly 3000 people. Now, the way Time describes him, he’s just a poor misunderstood fellow, and anyone who opposes him is a bad guy.

His plan for an Islamic community center in downtown Manhattan, not far from Ground Zero, helped expose a virulent strain of American Islamophobia. The controversy also made him a leading global voice on interfaith dialogue. Now he plans to open similar centers around the world.

Seriously?  “….helped expose a virulent strain of American Islamophobia”?  Are they freaking kidding me?  I would suggest that those idiots at Time start doing a bit of research on the subject, instead of painting anyone who opposes building a Victory Mosque near the site of such a horrendous attack on our country….or ANY country for that matter.

Hey….dipwads…..it ain’t ‘islamophobia’ if they really DO want to kill you!

It has been more than 40 days since the House passed a budget for 2011, cutting spending by $61 billion. The task was left undone by the previous Democrat-controlled Congress, the first time since 1974, an embarrassing feat for a body charged with holding the purse strings. Today that task remains incomplete, and the moment until a partial government shutdown is growing near, easily measured in hours, not days. It’s time for action and leadership, not press conferences and finger pointing.

Shutdown Looms Without Further Meeting Between White House, Congress

The impasse between the White House and Congress increasingly looks like it will force the government to shut down by the weekend, with a spending summit yielding no deal on Tuesday.

President Obama said he would like to meet with congressional leaders every day until the stalemate over funding the government for the rest of the fiscal year is solved, but as of Tuesday evening no additional meetings were on the calendar.

Considering the Dems REFUSE to make serious cuts in their spending spree, I’m not surprised there hasn’t been any progress.

The Tuesday summit with the president, House Speaker John Boehner and Senate Majority leader Harry Reid seemed only to aggravate the two sides, and a followup meeting between the two congressional leaders didn’t seem to make any progress of funding the government through Sept. 30.

I know I can’t be the only person that KNOWS Runnin’ Reid is a blithering idiot! The man is as useless as teats on a boar! I see him on TV, and I can FEEL my IQ drop 20 points. And even then, I’ve got more sense than he does! :? Nevada ought to be ashamed of themselves for re-electing that tool!

Republicans are already pointing their fingers at the White House for not considering another temporary spending bill.

“The White House has increased the likelihood of a shutdown,” House Majority Leader Eric Cantor said.

NO MORE TEMPORARY BS! Y’all need to do your flippin’ job! CUT the spending of money we don’t have! Stop putting my great-grandchildren in debt up to their eyeballs!

Go ahead.  Shut it down!  There are a LOT of folks out here than can do the job without Congress’ stupid games!  People with a BOATLOAD more common sense than any we have in D.C., that’s for sure!  We can start from scratch, with the U.S. Constitution as our guide! And the Declaration of Independence gives us permission!

When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

The GOP Path to Prosperity

Congress is currently embroiled in a funding fight over how much to spend on less than one-fifth of the federal budget for the next six months. Whether we cut $33 billion or $61 billion—that is, whether we shave 2% or 4% off of this year’s deficit—is important. It’s a sign that the election did in fact change the debate in Washington from how much we should spend to how much spending we should cut.

But this morning the new House Republican majority will introduce a budget that moves the debate from billions in spending cuts to trillions. America is facing a defining moment. The threat posed by our monumental debt will damage our country in profound ways, unless we act.

No one person or party is responsible for the looming crisis. Yet the facts are clear: Since President Obama took office, our problems have gotten worse. Major spending increases have failed to deliver promised jobs. The safety net for the poor is coming apart at the seams. Government health and retirement programs are growing at unsustainable rates. The new health-care law is a fiscal train wreck. And a complex, inefficient tax code is holding back American families and businesses.

60% of U.S. Military Deaths in Afghanistan Have Occurred Since Obama Was Inaugurated in 2009

At least 858 U.S. soldiers have died in the Afghanistan war since President Barack Obama took office in January 2009. That equals 60 percent of the 1,427 American soldiers killed so far in the 10-year war in that country.

The enemy has no fear, nor respect, for that so called Commander in Chief. He’s made sure that our troops are put in harms way with unrealistic ‘rules of engagement’. He has no intention of winning this war, or any other war, for that matter.  I’ve no doubt the murderous thugs see Obama pretty much the same way a lot of us do….as a weak, ineffective, child, with no leadership skills.

The enemy has no problem using “civilians” to do their dirty work, and we should have no problem taking them out!   The purpose of ANY war, is to win.  If you have no intention of fighting to win, then get the hell out!  Brings our troops home, and let those slime sucking pigs murder each other!  As far as I’m concerned, one large bomb would solve the problem.  Create a field of glass.

I blame HIM for their deaths!
