Pakistan Stoked Anger About Qur’an-Burning Incident
The news that a small Florida church burned a copy of the Qur’an on March 20 went virtually unreported in most of the world – with Pakistan the chief exception – until the eruption of violence in Afghanistan on Friday.
Honestly, I had no idea the guy had even done it, until all the crap erupted in Afghanistan. But gracious sakes, leave it to our “ally” to make a mountain out of a molehill!
Sen. Richard Durbin told NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday that pastor Terry Jones was “looking for publicity. And as long as he gets that publicity, he will continue this irresponsible conduct.”
Well, personally, I don’t give a flip if he burns the evil book or not. But did Dustbin say anything about the “irresponsible” VIOLENCE? It’s a flippin’ book that promotes hatred, for cryin’ out loud! At least Jones didn’t murder anyone. He is NOT responsible for the actions of the animals.
On March 22, Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari, in a speech to the federal parliament, condemned the incident “in the strongest possible words,” and Pakistan’s foreign ministry called the burning a “despicable act.”
Did he also condemn the destruction of Bibles? Or the murder of Christians in his country?
One of the participants, a group which the U.S. State Department calls a “front operation” for the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Toiba, announced that a reward of some $1.2 million would be paid to anyone who kills Jones.
And there in lies the difference between us, and them. I’m real sick of our so called “public servants” condemning the actions of one man, a fellow countryman, who harmed no one, yet excusing the barbaric actions a bunch of murderous thugs.
During a meeting with U.S. ambassador Karl Eikenberry and Gen. David Petraeus, Karzai repeated his call for U.S. and U.N. to put Jones on trial, and urged the U.S. Senate condemn the Qur’an-burning.
I urge the ambassador, the general, and OUR Senate to condemn the behavior of the Afghans, and take retaliatory actions, immediately!

Family gathering in Southwest Memphis ends in machete attack
What began Sunday as a family gathering in Southwest Memphis ended with an attack with a machete and an uncle in Shelby County Jail.
(…)
A short time later, Shannon allegedly chased his niece and her cousin outside with a machete, hitting the cousin with it once. Shannon fled when officers arrived and was caught after a short foot chase, according to the court document.
Since when is a machete a common household implement? I don’t know about you, but I’ve never had one in my home. Come to think of it, the only houses I EVER saw where a machete was a common household tool was in Thailand. Haven’t been there in a real long time.

So NOW D’Bama ‘pledges to focus on his job‘ even while campaigning? Well, that’ll be a first!
I wonder how long it will be before these kinds of horrific crimes are committed in the U.S.?
They really do hate their children, don’t they. Anyone who encourages a child to murder can NOT claim a ‘religion of peace’. It is evil…plain and simple!
Now he wants to chat because he is being isolated? How about an 8×6 style isolation….at least until he’s convicted?
Personally, I’ve never seen a contradiction between God and evolution. Well, except when some idjit slaps a firm date on something…then I have a problem. Who’s to say how long God’s day really is? It could be millions of years equals a day. We just don’t know. We don’t need to know.
Seriously, does anyone really care?
I wonder if they were all feminazis? They seem to want to be men.
Attention Sam’s Club shoppers! Check your turkey burgers!
Such murders must NEVER be condoned. It’s extremely disturbing that such a beautiful country is, once again, being torn apart by violence.
So, who is this fool blaming for his own hatred? And why, pray tell, is he dragging religion into cricket, insulting the Indians? He might want to take a good look at his OWN heart first!
I rather doubt extending the school day is going to be a major boost. It might be better to go back to the basics, and start from there. Although, getting rid of sucky teachers is a step in the right direction, but I’m thinking there are probably more than just 27 that could go, especially when you’re talking about 35 failing schools.
Nothing like stating the obvious. I wonder how much we paid for that ‘study’?
Why doesn’t he just say, “I lied”? I doubt if the lame stream will correct their lies against Israel though. Some of us already knew the truth, but way too many buy into the propaganda. I doubt if the Useless Numnuts will shed light on the REAL truth either.
The murderer of a four legged police officer should be treated no differently than if he had murdered a 2 legged officer! The punishment should be exactly the same!
I pray they will be identified and their families can finally lay them to rest.
Three down! Many more to go!
Since the phony ‘liberal preachers’ are already involved in politics, I’d say it is WAY past time for our conservative pastors to get involved as well. It’s not about right and left! It’s about RIGHT and WRONG!
Hope no one was planning on flying Southwest today.
Obama’s toady still blocking progress. Typical.

Big Government Vs. the Internet
The Foundry
Following his party’s devastating losses last November, President Barack Obama made clear that where his party could no longer legislate, it will regulate. Just a month later, America saw his words become action when the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) voted to issue new rules regulating the Internet, even though courts and Congress have stood in opposition to its actions. Tomorrow, the House of Representatives is poised to voice its opposition to the FCC’s unmitigated power grab and will vote on a resolution to block the FCC’s rules, sending a powerful message that enough regulation is enough, and the FCC should keep its hands off the Internet.
Ecclesiastes 1:3-11
3 What profit hath a man of all his labour which he taketh under the sun?
4 One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh: but the earth abideth for ever.
5 The sun also ariseth, and the sun goeth down, and hasteth to his place where he arose.
6 The wind goeth toward the south, and turneth about unto the north; it whirleth about continually, and the wind returneth again according to his circuits.
7 All the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full; unto the place from whence the rivers come, thither they return again.
8 All things are full of labour; man cannot utter it: the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing.
9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
10 Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us.
11 There is no remembrance of former things; neither shall there be any remembrance of things that are to come with those that shall come after.

Seven Killed During Koran Burning Protest at U.N. Headquarters in Afghanistan
KABUL, Afghanistan — Afghan officials: 7 killed at UN office when Koran burning protest turns violent.
And this is news? Who burned the evil book? These barbarians ‘turn violent’ at the drop of a hat. What’s so different now? Muslims destroy Bibles on a regular basis, but I don’t see too many Christians rioting in the streets, murdering people. Shows a HUGE difference, doesn’t it. One bunch destroys, maims, murders, the other….way too tolerant of the destroyers.
Bring Back Manufacturing (Without The Unions!)
Stop Sending Jobs Overseas
The Foundry
Today, the Labor Department released its monthly jobs report showing that the U.S. economy added 216,000 jobs in March and unemployment fell to 8.8 percent. Despite these encouraging numbers, Americans still consistently tell pollsters that jobs and the economy are the most important problems facing the country. And yesterday, Gallup released a poll showing that the number one way Americans would like to see more United States jobs created is to stop sending new jobs overseas. That is a fabulous idea, and the simplest way to accomplish it would be to lower out nation’s corporate tax rate.
The United States was once a leader in tax rate reduction. In 1981, President Ronald Reagan passed a broad tax cut package to encourage economic growth. How well did it work? Just compare the drops in unemployment from both the Reagan and the Obama economic recoveries. Since the Obama recovery began 21 months ago, the national unemployment rate has fallen only 0.6 points, from 9.4 percent in July 2009 to 8.8 percent today. Contrast those anemic results with the robust job growth that occurred during the Reagan recovery in the ’80s. By the 21-month mark of the Reagan recovery, unemployment had dropped from 10.8 percent to 7.5 percent—a 3.3 point drop.
“I Have Tenure!”
Teacher tenure bill makes way to Haslam
The state Senate gave final legislative approval Thursday to Gov. Bill Haslam’s plan to make it tougher for Tennessee teachers to gain tenure.
The centerpiece of the new governor’s education agenda, the bill extends the probationary period for new teachers from the current three years to five before tenure can be awarded.
It also requires probationary teachers to place in the top two tiers of a new five-tier evaluation system in their fourth and fifth years of teaching to win tenure.
Anybody remember the movie, Teachers, with Nick Nolte? Every time I hear the word ‘tenure’, I think of Nolte’s last line of the movie….”You can’t fire me! I’ve got tenure!”
Now, if anyone is going to be fired from any job, there should be a reason, no matter how long the person has been at the job. Misconduct, theft, stuff like that. Oh yeah….and sex with students would definitely be a reason to can a teacher. That being said, I don’t believe having ‘tenure’ gives any teacher the right to keep their job if they seriously suck! Remember New York’s ‘rubber rooms‘? Suspended teachers spent their days sitting around, getting full pay, at the taxpayers expense. They didn’t work, they were suspended for a variety of reasons, including sexually abusing a child. Thankfully, they’ve finally done away with these Temporary Reassignment Center, I’m sure, in no small part, the exposure by John Stossel.
When you look at the definition of tenure – the act, right, manner, or term of holding something (as a landed property, a position, or an office); especially : a status granted after a trial period to a teacher that gives protection from summary dismissal – you begin to understand why our kids are failing so miserably in school. If a bad teacher, whose students just get passed from one grade to the next, without actually EARNING advancement, can’t be fired because of tenure, our schools are a failure, and we need to look REAL hard at the system.
Don’t get me wrong! There ARE some good teachers out there. The problem is, the good ones seldom stick with it. They are hampered by union rules, frustrated by the unfair practices of compensation for those who have tenure, but suck, as opposed to those whose students actually LEARN, but don’t have tenure. Compensation should be based on performance, NOT seniority.
Instead of delaying tenure for a couple of years, it would be in the best interest of the kids if this system was done away with, COMPLETELY! After all, they work for US!
