Huckabee Declines
Huckabee Opts Against 2012 White House Bid
“All the factors say go, but my heart says no,” Huckabee, who was considered the GOP frontrunner in several national polls, said on his Fox News Channel show.
“The past few months have been times of deep personal reflection,” Huckabee said. “Even though I wasn’t actively establishing a campaign organization or seeking financial support to run again, polls have consistently put me at or near the top to be the Republican nominee.”
“But I know that under the best of circumstances, being President is a job that takes one to the limit of his or her human capacity,” he continued. “I can’t know or predict the future, but I know for now my answer is clear and firm: I will not seek the Republican nomination for President this year.”
I’m not really disappointed that Huckabee isn’t running. While he is a good man, a man of honor, and MUCH preferable to what we’re stuck with right now. Unfortunately, one who has announced,Ron Paul, unequivocally, that he is running, when most sane people can’t, and won’t vote him. Sometimes, I just don’t get it. Maybe that’s a good thing.
Now, who will end up as the nominee? Who knows. But hopefully, someone will step forward that we can all get behind. No, we will never have the perfect candidate, one who will meet everyone’s list of ‘qualifications’. But seriously, do we really more of the Obama administration? I don’t care if the nominee isn’t who YOU would have preferred. Think of the alternative! “Rome wasn’t built in a day”, and we won’t be able to restore our nation overnight.

I hope and hope the GOP can find a viable, articulate candidate. He or she doesn’t have to be spectacular and showy; just an honest hard worker who sticks to principles.
I’m still not 100% certain that Palin’s got what it takes. And Chris Christie needs another decade on him, and to finish a couple of fights in New Jersey.
I could see myself voting for Col. Alan West, but I think he has the same problem Christie has; he needs about another decade under the belt.
At the end of the day, though, if the GOP runs a bag of wet cement against Obama, I’ll vote for it to be sworn into office. My greatest worry is, the GOP power structure (for whom I have next-to-zero respect at this point) knows that, about me, about a lot of voters.
I don’t think the GOP is nearly as afraid of ticking off the Tea Party as they need to be.

Well, they damn well should be. They might want to take a good look at their ‘established’ folks….AFTER they got their asses handed to them on a platter.
I hate the idea of settling for someone who is less than what we need, but we HAVE to come together on one candidate. Those who will vote for a 3rd party are guaranteeing another 4 years of horror with Obama. I’ve no doubt, things will get even worse than they are now.
West? Yes. Palin needs to do what she does best….rally the troops.
Cain? Yes. Trump. NO. Newt. NO. Santorum. Yes. Pawlenty. No. Johnson. Oh HELL no! Paul. Double oh HELL no. I think I’m going to have some problems. LOL
Thank GAWD. Nuff said.’
And Dan, you realize West has said like 20 times hes NOT running for President? Unless you write him in, you wont be voting for him.
I dont get why people keep saying theyre going to vote for people who have said they arent running. >.<
Hey…ya never know…perhaps he can be convinced.
The man has more experience as a leader than that fool we’re stuck with now, that’s for sure.
How about Bolton/Pence???
Dream team……
I heard Pence was going to run for governor, and Bolton? Well, I love the guy, but I think Doc is right….he’d be GREAT as Secretary of State.
