Romans 2:2-6
2 But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things.
3 And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?
4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;

Huckabee Declines
Huckabee Opts Against 2012 White House Bid
“All the factors say go, but my heart says no,” Huckabee, who was considered the GOP frontrunner in several national polls, said on his Fox News Channel show.
“The past few months have been times of deep personal reflection,” Huckabee said. “Even though I wasn’t actively establishing a campaign organization or seeking financial support to run again, polls have consistently put me at or near the top to be the Republican nominee.”
“But I know that under the best of circumstances, being President is a job that takes one to the limit of his or her human capacity,” he continued. “I can’t know or predict the future, but I know for now my answer is clear and firm: I will not seek the Republican nomination for President this year.”
I’m not really disappointed that Huckabee isn’t running. While he is a good man, a man of honor, and MUCH preferable to what we’re stuck with right now. Unfortunately, one who has announced,Ron Paul, unequivocally, that he is running, when most sane people can’t, and won’t vote him. Sometimes, I just don’t get it. Maybe that’s a good thing.
Now, who will end up as the nominee? Who knows. But hopefully, someone will step forward that we can all get behind. No, we will never have the perfect candidate, one who will meet everyone’s list of ‘qualifications’. But seriously, do we really more of the Obama administration? I don’t care if the nominee isn’t who YOU would have preferred. Think of the alternative! “Rome wasn’t built in a day”, and we won’t be able to restore our nation overnight.
Zo’s “Common” Sense
We were listening to some talk show on the drive over to Jackson this afternoon, and they played some of the lyrics of this so called poet. Honestly, I don’t care who the TOTUS and FLOTUS invite to their home. The problem I see with this guy, he’s not really a very good poet. On top of that, I kept thinking, what if a white person used the same terms in so called poetry? I would be just as offended by such lyrics from a white “poet”. And what if said ‘white poet’ was invited to the White House by a white president? Don’t you think there would be a bit of offense taken by the general public? Do lyrics that promote the killing of anyone reflect the values of the average American? Or is this just a liberal thing?
New Toy
Ok, so we headed over to Jackson, to Best Buy, and picked up a new computer. It’s the same brand, so I thought….hey…no problem. Pfft! I can’t find anything on this sucker. The keyboard is off, and some how, the screen keeps GROWING. I finally figured out how to shrink it back to normal, but jeeeeez!
Hey…how do you cover up the web cam thingy? I forgot all the new computers have that nasty thing built in. I don’t want it! UGH!
Because of the computer issues, obviously, my usual Saturday Afternoon links is beyond minimal. Hey….I’m pooped! Shopping is hard work, y’know! One thing that annoys me….. I lost ALL the links I had bookmarked for tons of blogs all over the place. sigh… Welp, like the Mr said…”What else have you got to do?” Yeah yeah…. I guess I can start building ‘em up again.
One plus of the afternoon….we had a really nice lunch over there. Place called Niko’s. Greek and Italian. Mighty tasty stuff!
This thing is gonna take some getting use to.

AAARRRGGG!
Last night, we lost our power for a few hours. I turned off my computer, all proper like. When it finally came back on, naturally I turned on my computer. I pushed the button. I pushed the button. I pushed the button. Nothing! Dead as the proverbial doornail. Friday the 13th? Could be. Sadly, it didn’t make a miraulous come back this morning. Blogging from my phone is NOT an option!
I guess a trip to Jackson is in order. sigh….

NO Subsidies!
The Truth Behind Oil Subsidies
The Foundry
It’s easy to take shots at oil companies, especially when gas prices are rising over $4 per gallon. Playing the role of David against an enormous corporate Goliath is a great way to score political points, so it’s no wonder that President Barack Obama and liberals in Congress have issued a clarion call for the end to oil subsidies as a way of wreaking revenge against those they say are responsible for the high cost of energy.
The truth, though, isn’t as simple as the good-versus evil fable the left would have you believe.

Obama: Freedom or Islam?
Washington Times
President Obama is trying to hit the reset button on his outreach efforts to the world’s Muslims. He would do better to focus on aggressively promoting freedom rather than pandering to Islam.
The first round of outreach – kicked off by Mr. Obama’s June 2009 speech in Cairo – was a spectacular failure. Opinion polling on sentiment towards the United States in countries with Muslim majorities showed an initial burst of enthusiasm, followed in 2010 by a collapse. In some cases, Muslim approval of America fell to levels lower than during the waning days of the George W. Bush administration.

I’m thinking a great many people have figured out by now….Barack Hussein Obama is NO Christian. Oh, he claims to be one, but just because you stand in the garage, doesn’t make you a Lamborghini. (In his case, maybe a Volt.
) Have you actually LISTENED to his preacher of 20 years?? He may, or may not have, been born in Hawaii, I don’t know, and don’t much care. But he is NO American. Americans have pride in their countries accomplishments, which in our case, are many. An American doesn’t run around the world, undermining their country to the joy of our enemies.
They say that a child’s personality is pretty much set by the time they are 5 years old. Well, let’s take a look at where Barry was living when he was five. Oh, that’s right….not America. He was in a MUSLIM country at the age of 3. He went to school there, learned what they learned in a foreign country. He did NOT develop a love of America as most of us did as a child. He learned the Quran. America is freedom. The Quran is slavery and hatred.
He’s reaching out to the very people who want to see us dead. Why? No one has ever explained this. When someone is pointing a gun at you, ready to fire, you don’t reach out your hand to them….you’ll get it shot off. He bows to dictators, and embarrasses the hell out of Americans, yet won’t reach out to America, or Americans, except to put his hand in OUR pockets, through a variety of overreaching laws, regulations, and pure D theft.
The lessons he learned as a child are being implemented to our detriment. Islam in his formative years, socialism through family and friends. He actually sought out those who hate America to develop friendships.
After the 2008 election, I was willing to give the man a chance. Well, he had his chance. He blew it. BIG TIME! Right out of the gate. Now, all I want to see is his resounding defeat in 2012.

Government Invasion
When I heard about this PLAN they’ve come up with a couple of days, naturally, I found it quite alarming.
National Emergency Alert System Set To Launch In NYC
It’s called the Personal Localized Alert Network or PLAN. Presidential and local emergency messages as well as Amber Alerts would appear on cell phones equipped with special chips and software.
“The lessons that were reinforced on 9/11 is the importance of getting clear and accurate information to the public during a crisis,” New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg said at a news conference on Tuesday.
Verizon and AT&T, the nation’s largest cell phone carriers, are already on board. Consumers would be able to opt out of all but those presidential messages. (emphasis mine)
I wonder how many people feel the need to tell the government to shove it where the sun don’t shine? I know I do!
If I want to get weather alerts on my phone, I have that option. If I want Amber Alerts, I have that option too. I don’t need some overreaching plan from the federal government. I get neither. Although, I did have weather alerts for a short time, which came in handy during our recent batch of torrential rain and tornado warnings. The company that was suppose to be in charge of that went FLOP, so we no longer have it available. I didn’t really need it anyway. I have a large window I can see out of it, which is a lot more accurate than those alerts I was getting…AFTER whatever was going to happen, happened.
I don’t care who the president is, I do NOT want him or her invading my phone. I have a couple of those radios that give alerts for just about anything and everything. You know, the Emergency Broadcast System type radios. You can crank ‘em for power. Simple, if the need arises. The idea that I would not be able to opt out of the one thing I would want to opt out of is plain disturbing.
You know, I survived for many years without a cell phone. I’m sure I can survive a few more after I get rid of this one. Likely, I won’t be renewing my contract with Verizon. Granted, cell phones are convenient, but no convenience is worth the federal government invading my privacy even more than they already do.
Today…New York. Tomorrow….Podunk? I don’t think so!
