Just The Usual Murderous Thugs
Dozens Dead as Car Bomb Detonates Outside Afghan Medical Clinic
A suicide attacker blew up his sport utility vehicle packed with explosives outside of a small medical clinic in eastern Afghanistan on Saturday, killing at least 25 people, Afghan authorities said. Some reports put the death toll as high as 60.
A ‘suicide attacker’? Is that the new PC way of saying murderous muslim thug?
The bomber drove up to the medical clinic in an SUV, and clinic guards tried to prevent him from entering the center’s compound, said Mohammad Zaref Nayebkhail, the provincial health director. “The driver didn’t stop and he entered the compound and reached the main building of the health center, where the truck detonated,” Nayebkhail said.
A medical clinic. Yeah….that’ll really garner sympathy for your ’cause’….whatever the hell that might be!
The Taliban denied responsibility for the bombing. Zabiullah Mujahid, a spokesman for the movement, told The Associated Press in a phone interview that “this attack was not done by our fighters.”
Does it really matter which group that calls itself what? They can call themselves whatever they want…Taliban, al Qaeda, Muslim Brotherhood….they are all the same. Murdering in the name of some devil just for the sake of murdering is beyond evil.
Late Friday, another blast — this one caused by a bicycle rigged with explosives — ripped through a bazaar in the Khanabad district of Kunduz province in northern Afghanistan, killing at least 10 people, including a police officer. At least 24 people were wounded in the attack, according to an Interior Ministry statement.
What kind of people breeds such abject hatred for the innocent? Oh yeah….Islamonazis! The country is corrupt. Let them destroy themselves. Better yet, how about we win this war! Bring our service members home and blow the whole works off the planet.

Tennessee Federation of Republican Women’s Convention Oct 21~23

The event is known as “Ladies Day on the Hill” where Republican women across the state of Tennessee are invited guests to the House Chambers at the State Capitol. During this event the TNFRW president, Susan Witcher honored the women serving our state with a lovely plaque of appreciation and one of those honored guests was our Sen. Dolores Gresham.
Our local ladies who attended the event: Pickwick club president, Donna Woodside, Janice Rinks, Gail Grauer, Tena Ballard, Reta Galbraith, Jane Beal, Joyce Hankins, Jean Gunn, Ngaio Wesenberg, Ada Sparkman, Carol Wehrstein and Kay Hodgson.
Gov Haslam and Lt Gov Ron Ramsey both addressed the group and extended their warmest thanks for the victories of the Republican party due in part to the TNFRW. Both men were greeted with standing ovations from the crowd.

Later in the morning the entire group was invited to a wonderful luncheon at The Hermitage in Nashville. Our Rep. Vance Dennis was the honored guest at the table of the Pickwick Republican Women. After lunch the women were taken to the Governor’s Executive Mansion where they were warmly greeted by First Lady Chrissy Haslam and served coffee and dessert with a tour of the residence.

President Obama Abuses Nation’s Oil Reserves
The Foundry
When it comes to making bad energy policy decisions, President Obama is a pro. Yesterday was no exception when the Obama Administration announced it would release 30 million barrels of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR). This is part of an agreement with the International Energy Agency (IEA) to put a total of 60 million barrels on the market in the next 30 days. Another 27 nations will make up the other half of the oil needed.
President Obama and the IEA first explained this irresponsible action by noting a supply disruption as a result of the war in Libya. However, this disruption does not justify the depletion of the SPR, and the Administration doesn’t have the legal rationale, either. The White House slightly changed its tune late yesterday when Press Secretary Jay Carney told reporters it was meant as protection against increasing gas prices over the summer driving season.
Clearly, President Obama is putting politics and polls ahead of responsible governance and a smart energy policy. Even The Washington Post’s editorial board agrees. This morning, in a scathing editorial entitled “The wrong reason for depleting the strategic oil reserve,” the Post argues the White House is likely more focused on a “political emergency” and “the government should not tap the reserve absent a genuine crisis.”
Spooky Dude…
….not just spooky, but extremely dangerous to our Republic.
Section 527 works to seat liberals as election overseers
A small tax-exempt political group with ties to wealthy liberals like billionaire financier George Soros has quietly helped elect 11 reform-minded progressive Democrats as secretaries of state to oversee the election process in battleground states and keep Republican “political operatives from deciding who can vote and how those votes are counted.”
Known as the Secretary of State Project (SOSP), the organization was formed by liberal activists in 2006 to put Democrats in charge of state election offices, where key decisions often are made in close races on which ballots are counted and which are not.
The group’s website said it wants to stop Republicans from “manipulating” election results.
Read it ALL here.
The only people I have seen ‘manipulating’ elections would be the Democrats. Fraudulent voter registration, smokes for votes, “found” ballots. If these people aren’t stopped, we will have no way to regain control of our country.
Food Police Hit Tennessee
The ugly battle over whether government should concern itself with waistlines played out most publicly between the first lady and a former vice presidential candidate.
Michelle Obama rolled out her plan for more fruit and less fat, sugar and salt in school lunches. Sarah Palin fired back that the first lady doesn’t believe in dessert. Obama encouraged breastfeeding babies to reduce childhood obesity, and Palin joked that the price of milk must be too high.
Michelle Obama needs to concern herself with her own life, and stop worry about what other do. She can serve up fancy FATTENING meals at the White House on a regular basis, but has the audacity to whine and complain about why my grandkids eat? Some needs to inform the FLOTUS…..it’s NONE OF HER FREAKIN’ BUSINESS!
I admit, there is an obesity problem in this country, but to hear the elites whine and moan, you’d think that every single person in this country was carry a double double wide load. That isn’t the case. What started our road to the heavier side? Why….government interference of course! Playgrounds are no longer playgrounds. Someone MIGHT get hurt, so let’s do away with anything the MIGHT cause a boo boo, and actually be fun. Do kids have recess anymore? If they do, it’s all regulated by some nitwit who is afraid a wee child might fall down, or GASP…..get their widdle fweewin’s hurt.
“I understand why they’re doing it, but it’s not the role of government,” he said. “If they weren’t paying the medical bills, they wouldn’t feel like they can watch over us. It’s not some altruistic mission of government. They’re interested in what you eat, what you drink, what you smoke. They’re intruding in our lives.”
We are adults. We make choices. It is NOT the government’s job, on ANY level, to make our choices for us.
Other Tennesseans are baffled by why such laws don’t get more traction here. Teresa Waller, 41, a North Nashville mother of two, said it will take government intervention to ensure Americans have healthy choices and understand what they’re eating.
“I think it shows that they’re concerned about the health of our children,” said Waller, who had gastric bypass surgery seven years ago and lost 200 pounds.
Lady….if you don’t have enough control over your own life, this is not my problem, nor any other voting taxpayer. You and every nanny legislator needs to be concerned with their own issues, and stop poking noses where they do NOT belong. You got surgery? Fine. That was YOUR choice. People have died from that surgery, but I don’t see anyone telling you that you CAN’T have it. AND, if you are such a crappy mother, than you can’t control what your kids eat, this is also NOT MY PROBLEM! Be a grown up!
Teaching kids to eat better, to make healthier choices isn’t a bad idea. We had those classes during health. You know that class that use to actually teach about health, instead of showing kids how to use a condom, or promote homosexual behavior. Perhaps if our tax dollars were spend on the RIGHT sort of health education, allow our kids to get out and run off their pent up energy during school, made the streets safer for our kids so they could get a neighborhood baseball game going in some field, maybe…just maybe….we’d start seeing a turn around of this “epidemic”.
Oh, and FYI Michelle? Perhaps you should take a real good look in the rear view mirror before casting stones at others? Just a thought.
A Bit of Advice To…..
….. well, you know who you are and, and I see no reason to embarrass you.
You might as well stop leaving comments. They will not be approved and published. It is not a door I ever have intention of opening again. Not one comment you have left in recent months has added to the conversation, and only proves your lack of understanding of real world issues.
You’re a nice guy, and I like you just fine. However, when it comes to how things work in the world of economics, you’re education has been sorely lacking. This is my little corner of the universe, and I’d rather have discussions with reasonably intelligent people rather than those who are only capable of regurgitating the union party line, the majority of which are lies and distortions (which you would know if you bothered to educate yourself on the issues).
Save your time, and mine. Use that time to read a book or ten. I’d highly recommend your start with the U.S. Constitution, then The 5000 Year Leap. Both would be highly beneficial. If you need more book recommendations, I’ll be more than happy to provide them.
Obama – Makes The Wrong Call…..Again
Obama’s Afghanistan Withdrawal
The Foundry
In the face of an unpopular war and an upcoming re-election campaign, President Barack Obama addressed the American people last night from the East Room of the White House to inform them of his plans to rapidly withdraw U.S. troops from Afghanistan. The President’s decision, though politically expedient, jeopardizes the successes made in Afghanistan over the last 10 months and will signal to allies and enemies alike that the United States is more committed to extricating itself from the fight than it is to ensuring that stability in the region is achieved.
The President’s decision to bring home 10,000 troops by the end of this year and a total of 33,000 troops by next summer comes despite requests from the Pentagon and General David Petraeus to limit the initial withdrawal to 3,000 to 4,000, as the L.A. Times reports. And as The Washington Post writes this morning, the President’s decision isn’t based in a “convincing military or strategic rationale.” Rather, it is “at odds with the strategy adopted by NATO, which aims to turn over the war to the Afghan army by the end of 2014.”
I SURVIVED!
This morning I had to be at the hospital at 6:30. Naturally, I had to be up at 5 so I could at least get one eye open before stumbling into the shower, right? Plenty of time. Well, I was ready…at 6. We figured if we got over there before the appointment time, we could get out of there sooner. Pfft! We made the 5 minute drive from the motel and got there at 6:40. Ain’t gonna say a word!
Now you know, when they tell ya to be there that early, you can’t eat or drink anything cuz of the tests they are going to subject ya to. Yep. No carbonated caffeine. No coffee. Actually haven’t been drinking any for a few months cuz it was having the opposite affect on me that what it should.
Very annoying. But this morning, I would have taken the chance. sigh…. Four and a half hours of sleep is not conducive to a productive Ol’ Broad. Like I’m all that productive to begin with, but you get the picture. UGH! I did brush my teeth though.
Don’t think I swallowed too much water during that process.
So, I check in. Sit. Give the woman some info. Sit. Woman comes to take me to the area I need to be. Sit. Sit. Sit. I go get a tube shoved in my arm. Couple of different meds, not of the fun variety either. Get pictures taken of innards. Sit. Sit. Sit. Sit. Sit. Lady comes and takes me to a different room. Stretches me out, puts sticky pads on the bod, and attaches wires. Then comes the fun part that I have been dreading. The infamous chemical stress test. I have been expecting to die from this test. She informs me they have changed the drug from what they use to use, and this one isn’t so bad. Uh huh. Now, having had one of these wondrous tests a couple of years ago, I would honestly rather give birth to a 20 pound bowling ball, than EVER do that again. However, since I can’t be cleared for the knee surgery until I do take one, I really didn’t have a choice.
Imagine my surprise when all I felt was anxiety. No excruciating pain running through my bod. Just a heavy duty case of anxiety. And one whopper of a headache! That’s it? I lost sleep last night worrying about this, and that’s all there is to it??? Cool!
All done with that, and I sit….and wait….and sit….and wait…..and wait…. About an hour later (which was a wee bit more than the promised few minutes) I was taken in for another set of innards pictures. Before and after shots?
So, unless they find some horrible thing hidden somewhere, I SHOULD be cleared for my surgery next week. I’ve decided to wait and bug the heart doc tomorrow to find out.
Now? I need a major nap!

Glad I Was Out!
Obama Vows to Withdraw Afghanistan Surge Troops by Next Summer
In a prime-time address from the East Room of the White House, the president assured the nation that the U.S. military will begin its drawdown next month from a “position of strength” following the death of Usama bin Laden. He described that drawdown as “the beginning, but not the end, of our effort to wind down this war” — a transition he wants complete by 2014.
“We have put Al Qaeda on a path to defeat, and we will not relent until the job is done,” the president said.
I didn’t watch, but I have read over the transcript. In typical Obama fashion…. “Blame Bush….. I am wonderful”. Well, actually, he’s full of caca de toro, but he hasn’t figured it out yet. This is nothing more than playing politics with our military, and I for one, am pretty fed up with this BS.
Treacherous
Marine Reservist Detained Near Pentagon Linked to D.C. Military Building Shootings, Sources Say
A Marine reservist detained last week near the Pentagon has been linked through ballistics evidence to the 2010 shootings at several D.C.-area military buildings, sources familiar with the investigation tell Fox News.
Authorities are also trying to track down a vehicle that suspect Yonathan Melaku once owned, but has since sold.
Melaku was detained Friday after he was spotted carrying a suspicious backpack near the Pentagon containing what initially was feared to be bomb-making material. Authorities said the items were not explosive.
Melaku also had a notebook that contained the words “Al Qaeda” and “Taliban Rules” written inside. The context of the words was not immediately clear.
I realize that we have freedom of religion in this country, but considering the history of some of the recruits belonging to a certain religion, is it really wise to consider allowing such persons entry to our military? Just a thought.
Ann on The Fact Challenged Times
N.Y. Times: Fraught Nexus of Lies, Stupidity, and Bigotry
by Ann Coulter
Perhaps instead of taking potshots at me in its Book Review section, The New York Times could consider reviewing one of my books. With only one review — not in the Book Review — after eight New York Times best-sellers, the editors can rest assured that I know they don’t like me.
Reviewing a book about the 1989 rape of the Central Park jogger last week, the reviewer sniped that “coarser pundits like Ann Coulter continue to exploit the case whenever possible.”
My chapter on the Central Park rape in my recently released, smash New York Times best-seller, Demonic: How the Liberal Mob Is Endangering America, evidently “exploits” the case by citing facts. Based on those facts, I argue that the real trials reached more believable verdicts than the show trial held by the Left 13 years later.
