My Present
Since Brat was annoyed that I didn’t post her present to me yesterday, I brought it in, took it’s picture, and now she will be happy, right?

Yeah…it’s a t-shirt. Heh.
A Thought
While driving today, it finally hit me! I know how to save some money for the taxpayers! Maybe not a whole lot, but some. Stop making road signs! You know the ones…. “Speed Limit”, “Fines Doubled”, “Strictly Enforced”….THOSE types of signs. I mean really! No one pays a bit of attention to them anyway, so why are the taxpayers paying to have them made? It makes no sense! Especially in Louisiana.
They could possibly use the extra money to actually build a rest area or two somewhere along I-10. I mean, they have enough casinos, and ‘hootchie’ shops along that stretch of road, right? Why not at least ONE rest area? Oh yeah…there is one right as you cross the state line, but after that? Pfft! If Mississippi can have rest areas, why not Louisiana?
Just sayin’.
Carbonated Caffeine
The only job that fool is concerned with saving is his own. How ’bout we thwart his efforts, eh?
I understand the reasoning, and I think it’s a really good idea, but for some reason, I have this mental image of a cow barn.
I was planning on getting rid of my Android anyway. Just another good reason.
Do economic sanctions actually accomplish anything? Other than piss off those being sanctioned? Just curious.
Dude, the only way to ‘mend’ your broken society is to kill the entitlement mentality. Good luck with that!
George Will is starting to chap my hide. He might want to reconsider sounding like the libtard media.
Stuff your ‘super committee’ and get the hell out of the way!
99 arrests? 23 convictions? Excuse me, but why was this trash walking the streets?
These bozos really should stash their trash where it belongs…..at the White House!
The animals are not ever going to stop murdering. It’s what they do.
No Means NO!
A Devastating Blow to Obamacare
The Foundry
Obamacare has suffered a devastating blow. On Friday, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the individual mandate in President Barack Obama’s signature health care legislation is unconstitutional. With its ruling, the court affirmed the principle that the Constitution means what it says—Congress does not have unfettered power to force the American people to comply with any and all dictates it creates.
Not Just A Few Fries Short…
….this bimbo is missing the whole flippin’ Happy Meal. Repeating the lies might make the clueless believe them, but anyone with an ounce of sense can see through her male bovine excrement. Giving her messiah, Captain Oblivious, accolades for destroying the economy, just boggles the mind. The Democrats should be embarrassed to have such a ‘spokesperson’, but I don’t think they are capable of shame. It apparently is quite acceptable to be liars, thieves and cheats in the Democrat world. Sorry Debs….WE obviously have higher standards than YOU do, and Obama just doesn’t fit the bill!

Heading Home
Yep! I have left the wilds of Brat’s and Ick’s joint, and am heading back to civilization where there are no 50 pound dogs jumping and licking and barking and….
I left there quite late in the grand scheme of things, 4:00. Why? I love the kids…really, I do, but when you haven’t had a full night’s sleep, and there is constant pain involved, you start to wonder….why the hell am I here? I’ve been about as crabby as a teen on serious PMS. I’ve no doubt I have not been pleasant company. One word Brat….and lint and tic tac….POOF!
Texas finally got some rain. Yeehaw! Unfortunately, not enough to get the grime and bugs off the truck, but oh well. I think they had a few down pours BEFORE I drove through any particular area.
And that was the grime left from the wash job Short Person and Frodo did on my vehicle. *shakes head*
I have learned that doing the speed limit, or even a few miles over, you are taking your life in your own hands going through Beaumont. Are they nuts?????? Jeeez! As I stated on Facebook: Speed limit-70. Doing-72. Glance in rearview. When did I become the lead car at Talledega with a dead engine? Slow your sorry selves down!
I don’t know what they are dumping in the Sabine River, but gracious sakes that sucker stunk to high heaven! Something has to be rotting in there cuz nothing else would smell that bad. Even the swamp I drove over didn’t stink anywhere near what was emanating out of that river! UGH! Had to stop at the first, and ONLY rest area to air the truck out.
Now, I am happily ensconced in a motel, on the west side of Baton Rouge. Yep. I learned my lesson! This ol’ broad is going to take it SLOOOOOOW! But I gotta ask….what kind of motel doesn’t have a junk food machine??? Ok, so there is a little convenience store right across the parking lot, but still. Waddled m’self on over there, had a feral cat scare the bejabbers outta me (think I scare it pretty good too) and waddled myself on back. Wasn’t too bad. Under normal circumstances, it would have taken five minutes max. In my condition….minimum….tripled.
The way I look at it, I couldn’t have done that a couple of weeks ago.
Also got acquainted, up close and personal, with one of Louisiana’s state birds….aka….mosquito. sigh… Lucky me!
Figuring on doing 4 or 5 hours tomorrow, and be home some time, fairly early on Tuesday. And just think, when I was a young sprout, could have done this in one day. Oh well…the joys of falling apart and getting old!
Ephesians 2:1-7
1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
Hawkeye Cauc-eye
Seriously, I have never understood what the big deal is with these caucuses. People from a state get together and pick who they like best. Well, there are 49 other states that get to vote in the BIG show, so why would we care who comes out on top in just one state, 14 months ahead of time? But oh well, Iowa has spoken…. for the moment.
First place: Michele Bachmann: 4,823 votes
Second place: Ron Paul: 4,671 votes
Third place: Tim Pawlenty: 2,293 votes
Fourth place: Rick Santorum: 1,657 votes
Fifth place: Herman Cain:1,456 votes
Sixth place: Rick Perry: 718
Seventh place: Mitt Romney: 567 votes
Eighth place: Newt Gingrich: 385 votes
Ninth place: Jon Huntsman: 69 votes
Tenth place: Thaddeus McCotter: 35 votes
Total: 16,892 votes were cast
Ok, I get Bachmann coming in first, but Ron Paul in second, and Pawlenty in third? Are they flippin’ kidding???? So much for sanity in Iowa. I thought Iowa was much more like ‘middle America’ that a lot of other places, but the nutjob and the rude dude? How embarrassing for them. Did they not watch the debate????
Now, what I find most amusing is Mitt Romney coming in seventh. Just because the media keeps telling us he’s the front runner doesn’t exactly mean he is.
Oh, and I’d suggest that both McCotter and Huntsman just pack their bags and go home. Just sayin’.

A Few Thoughts
Ok, so Perry is officially in:
“I full well believe I’m going to win,” Perry told South Carolina voters on a conference call about an hour before he planned to kick off the campaign with a speech in Charleston.
It’s nice to be confident, but at this point in the race, a little humility might be in order. I don’t think politicians have the ability to be humble. Leaders do, but politicians? Pfft! There is one big point in his favor though.
And just what is Sarah Palin up to?
Palin and her husband, Todd, had a private lunch with supporters — including longtime Iowa fundraiser Becky Beach — on the fairgrounds, then walked over to admire the life-size “butter cow” sculpture, stopping along the way to take photos with fair-goers. While many presidential candidates had already appeared on the fairgrounds Friday, she was the only one who drew such a thick throng of onlookers and supporters, along with a clutch of media coverage.
If she is not in, I really wish she’d stop her grand standing. I like Palin, but I think she’s doing herself, and the conservatives more harm by inserting herself into the fray with no announced intentions. She is starting to remind of the kid that wants to be the center of attention at all times, but doesn’t want the responsibility that comes along with it. Or, maybe I’m just in a bad mood.
If that nutjob comes out on top, there will be no doubt in my mind that it was a stacked deck, just as has happened in previous ‘straw polls’. The raving loony tunes seem to travel to these things just for the express purpose of casting a vote for the most unqualified person in the running!
“He’s got the supporter passion of a Bachmann with the organization of a Pawlenty,” said one senior Iowa Republican strategist unaffiliated with any of the campaigns. “He builds on 2007 and the caucus last time, and I think he can turn out the 3,000 votes he needs to win.”
UGH!
Debate
While I wasn’t able to watch the debate last night because the kids decided I needed to take them out to dinner. Well, ok….I wanted to go too. I had forgotten about the debate. I dvr’d it, and am watching it now.
I’ve gotta tell you, Tim Pawlenty has lost any respect I might have had for him. His attacks on Michelle Bachmann have been down right appalling. It seems way too personal. But I have to give it Congresswoman Bachmann…..she was able to slap him down quite well. When he’s not attacking Michelle, I suppose his answers were ok, but the attacks overshadowed, so I can’t form a unbiased opinion.
Now, the Congresswoman held her own, but I didn’t see the passion I was expecting. Yeah, there was some, but… No, I don’t want to see a presidential candidate go all hormonal, but I would like to have seen the passion I have heard in previous appearances. I do, however, agree with the majority of what she has had to say. That question about “submission” tells me that there are a lot of people who do not understand the Biblical submission, and I think her answer came across quite well. One thing that bugs me….she sounded a lot like Obama with all the “I’s”, “me’s” and “my’s”. That was annoying.
As a whole, I’m not all that impressed with any of them, but I think Newt did manage to do a bit of slapping down himself. Unfortunately, I still have that picture him sitting on the couch with Queen Nanny. He’s a smart guy, I’ll give him that, I just don’t think I can support him. At least not wholeheartedly.
Santorum? Well, he’s good, but…. something is missing. I can’t put my finger on it. Is it lack of a powerful personality? I don’t know. I really liked him as a senator, but as a president? I can’t get excited, but I tend to agree with him on the social issues. Yeah…I’m that far to the ‘right’.
Ron Paul? Paaleeeeze! I’ve tried to understand his answers so far, but for the life of me, I have NO idea what he’s talking about most of the time. Who are those people who keep cheering him? Are they all stoned? Are they aware of how dangerous his foreign policies actually are to the security of the United States? They are just…..
Mitt Romney is slick. I keep wondering just who is answering these polls that puts him in the lead. I have yet to see anything that would put him in such a position. Has the media decided ‘it’s his turn’, so we’re suppose to go along with them….again? Think McCain. UGH! Now, if he ends up as the nominee, I’d vote for him, as I would anyone who runs against Obama. The very first step is to get that fool out of the White House.
I still like Hermann Cain. He’s not a politician!
He still has a lot to learn, but I think he has done some homework. He’s enough of a man to admit when he doesn’t know something, and will do his best to get answers and forms opinions. BUT….don’t we already have someone in office who has been doing ‘on the job’ training? Perhaps over the next few months?
And that other guy? Huntsman? He’s a non starter as far as I’m concerned.
On a whole? I think Newt actually did the best. Not really comfortable with that. LOL But oh well. I will keep watching the candidates, those in, and those who haven’t declared, and hopefully, eventually, I’ll find the candidate that I feel strongly enough about that I can really get behind. That being said, I’ll repeat what I said before….I will vote for Sponge Bob is it will get that man/child out of office, and stop the road to destruction of our country.
Repeating Failed Policies
President Obama Sticks to Stimulus Script
The Foundry
In the 1993 comedy Dave, a small-town presidential impersonator is called on to pretend to be the actual President of the United States when the commander in chief takes ill. Dave steps into the White House, takes his new role too far, and with wide-eyed innocence promises America, “I’m initiating a program to try to find a decent job for every American who wants one.” Yesterday in Holland, Michigan, President Barack Obama made a strikingly similar pledge:
Over the coming weeks, I’m going to be putting out more proposals, week by week, that will help businesses hire and put people back to work. And I’m going to keep at it until every single American who wants a job can find one.
It’s anyone’s guess if President Obama was taking a page from Dave’s playbook, hoping that the magic of Hollywood or the power of a populist message would resonate with Americans, helping to turn around his plummeting poll numbers. But a few things were clear in the President’s speech: Despite all evidence to the contrary, he is still clinging to the notion that the federal government can create jobs, he remains utterly disconnected from the reality that the American people are fundamentally dissatisfied with the direction he is taking the country, and he is doggedly sticking to his favorite script—the story of more federal spending coming to America’s rescue.
