Falling Into A Trap

Christian Churches Read Quran from Pulpits across America

How would you feel if your pastor stood in the pulpit this past Sunday opened what you believed to be his Bible and then started to read passages completely unfamiliar to you. Then in the midst of the reading you hear him say Allah instead of God and you realize he is reading not from his Bible, but from the Quran.

How would you feel and what would you do?

How would I feel?  Betrayed.  What would I do?  I’d get up and leave, never to return.

If this didn’t happen to you yesterday, count yourself fortunate because it did happen to a number people sitting in Christian churches across America.

Lucky for me, and the rest of our church members, our pastor is quite aware of world events, and is totally Bible based!

Social activists involved with Faith Shared, a program of Interfaith Alliance and Human Rights First were trying to promote tolerance and respect of Islam and counter opposition to the Muslim faith. So starting with the National Cathedral in Washington DC, at least fifty other churches in twenty-six states joined in the effort to host readings from the Quran.

Excuse me, but there is nothing in the “faith” of Muslims in common with the faith of Christians. Interfaith? Seriously? Islam isn’t a religion, of peace or anything else. It’s a political ideology that wants to control every aspect of your life. It’s a violent and hateful 7th century way of life, and it is not compatible with our Constitution.

The effort is meant to counter what they refer to as ‘anti-Muslim bigotry and negative stereotypes’ that have been growing in the US. By getting prominent national and local churches to read from the Quran and teach their congregations about Islam, the Alliance believes it will help make Christians more knowledgeable and tolerant of Islam.

Most folks will say they ‘learned all they need to know about Islam, they learned on 9/11/2001.” I learned much earlier, listening to my family. My mom was a 1st generation American of Lebanese decent. Her parents were sent to the U.S. at a young age to escape from the murderous Muslims. A large number of resident in their village were MURDERED. Why? Because they were not Muslims, but Christians! I learned from more recent relative immigrants, who were escaping from even more violence in the 60s and 70s. Hearing the story of the pregnant Christian woman whose breast were sliced, sticks of dynamite inserted, and blown up.

Any church that buys into to this ‘propaganda’ is not a church of God’s Word. It does not follow the teaching of Christ, and should be avoided at all cost. Our souls are at stake here!

Another Lost Generation of Americans
by J. D. Longstreet

Actually, they’re not lost geographically. We see them every day on the cable news channels and the evening news of the broadcast networks. This decade they call themselves the “Occupy Wall Street” Group. I believe they are lost, unrecoverable, as productive, patriotic, Americans. I’m no shrink, but I believe they will carry a degree of bitterness, for the reminder of their lives, as a result of America’s rejection of their attempt to force a socialist form of government on a nation of people who love freedom. The risk was theirs to take. History will record their failure — a failure they will never be able to put behind them. They will drag it like an anchor throughout their lifetime. They have made their choice and they now must live with the consequences.

These people have been around since Vladimir Lenin. They are espousing the socialist/communist line and they are SOOOOO DUMB they don’t have a clue they are being used by the shadowy figures organizing and financing their infantile protestations.

Those dirty, smelly, boorish, idiots are disposable tools of the leftist power brokers, themselves the mortal enemies of capitalists and democracy.

They are supported by the Communist Party, the Socialist Party, the Nazi Party, the Democratic Party …… . We should add the labor unions to this OUTSTANDING gaggle of anti-capitalist left-wingers.

They don’t know WHAT the want – but they want it NOW. It is the primal cry of an infant seeking attention.

If you are expecting anything good to come of the rent-a-riot crowd in our streets these days, you should reconsider. This whole “OWS” movement is going to end in disaster. This ain’t my first rodeo. I have seen this before. It always ends in tragedy.

As the shrillness of the demonstrators mounts, the public’s tolerance level will fall. At some point in the future, a tipping point will be reached and blood will be spilt and lives lost. It is the nature of clashes between groups of human beings. We call them wars, civil wars, insurrections, riots, Demonstrations, and at their inception – “protests.”

Read the rest of the commentary here.

I remember the “demonstrations” of the 60s and early 70s.  Let’s face it, I was born during Eisenhower’s first term, so spring chicken I ain’t.

I knew people who joined in the protests, and some who got arrested.  I knew young men who died in Vietnam.  I knew some who came back, but were never the same.  I never spat on a soldier, or demeaned their service, voluntary or drafted.  I also understood that anger that gave rise to the anti-war demonstrations.  Occasionally, I even agreed, mostly because I knew that Johnson totally screwed the whole thing up, and Nixon finished with our defeat.  Many of those were out in the streets, didn’t have a clue, but they were there anyway because they hated the ‘establishment’, and wanted to destroy the American way of life.

Uncle Sam Is No Venture Capitalist
The Foundry

It’s yet another inauspicious announcement the Obama Administration didn’t want you to hear. Late on Friday, the White House announced that it ordered an independent reviewof loans made by the Department of Energy to energy companies after months of weathering criticism for its $528 million loan to the now-bankrupt Solyndra solar panel company.

The White House’s independent investigation, though, isn’t the only one in town. The FBI raided Solyndra after it declared bankruptcy, and Congress is diving in with an investigation of its own. Energy Secretary Steven Chu, who has been a strong advocate of this federal loan program, is set to testify before a congressional committee in mid-November on his involvement in the scandal. And Heritage’s Lachlan Markay reports that the House Energy and Commerce Committee announced Friday that it will vote to subpoena a host of White House documents related to Solyndra, including messages from the President’s Blackberry. The White House, though, would not comment on whether it will comply with the subpoena.

Even the mainstream media is picking up on the story. On yesterday’s Meet the Press, host David Gregory asked White House senior adviser David Plouffe whether, in times of dire economic straits, the government should be playing venture capitalist and trying to prop up green energy industries. Plouffe’s answer? In a nutshell, other governments are doing it, so we should, too: “Listen, you see what’s happening in other countries, you know, huge investments in this clean energy sector. We have to do everything we can.”

Church Halloween Event Bans ‘Cross-Gender’ Costumes

The Jesus Church of Latter-day Saints and some of its members fought back against criticism Friday after a flier for a Halloween event said no ‘cross gender’ costumes were allowed, Utah’s Fox13 reported.

Ok, my first question: What is a ‘cross-gender costume’?

The flier for the trunk-or-treat-event, an LDS event where kids trick-or-treat in the parking lot of one of the religious centers, also specified that the children not wear masks.

This is an event held by a church, they can make rules that are in line with their beliefs, and having kids not wear masks, well, I would think that is a safety issue.

Raquel Smith, a Sandy, Utah mother, told Fox13 that she felt the event sends the wrong message to the children.

“It has everything to do with not loving your fellow man because they choose to dress a specific way,” Smith, who is not a Mormon, told the station.

A word to Mzzzz Smith:  What is the wrong message?  Putting beliefs into practice?  I didn’t see anything about not loving your ‘fellow man’.  If the lady had ever read the Bible, she might be aware that acting against God’s Word is more harmful to your fellow man. If she doesn’t like the church’s rules for their event, she is welcome not to attend. It’s that simple.

LDS spokesperson, Scott Trotter, told Fox13 that the church dictates the no-mask policy for such events, but that the cross-dressing ban is not policy and event rules like that are up to the discretion of the bishop or church members. Trotter said that he does not know why such language was used, but assumes that it was a means to promote appropriate dress.

A church can decide what they are willing to accept. If they don’t feel it appropriate for little boys to dress up like a fairy princess, then they are well within their rights.

“There is no way we would be concerned about the child cross-dressing that way on Halloween,” Doug Goldsmith, a child psychologist and Executive Director of The Children Center, told the station. “There are many, many other times when we may start to see signs of gender confusion, but that is not associated with Halloween at all.”

With all due respect, I would be quite concerned if my little boy dressed up in girl type costumes, and visa versa. Thanks to the ‘anything goes’ mindset, kids are even more confused than ever.  As a nation, we have lost our way.

Deuteronomy 22:5  “A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man, nor shall a man put on a woman’s garment, for all who do so are an abomination to the LORD your God.

I don’t a great deal about LDS, but if I understand correctly, they do stick with Biblical teachings, as well as The Book of Mormon.  I won’t get into my difference of opinion with the LDS.  That isn’t the issue.  My church doesn’t “celebrate” Halloween, but many around here hold ‘trunk or treat’ events for the kids.  If the church has a rule that a parent doesn’t agree with, said parent finds a different event to take their kids.  In my opinion, this woman sounds like a whining child.  It’s a shame so many chronological adults set such a petty example for their children.

Jesus’ name ruled ‘unconstitutional’
Judge says prayers to Christ ‘do violence to America’s pluralistic, inclusive values’

A board of county commissioners in North Carolina is asking the Supreme Court for help: Its members don’t believe they should have to forbid volunteers from mentioning the name of Jesus in prayers offered before their meetings.

But the American Civil Liberties Union and Americans United for Separation of Church and State are standing by their victory in a U.S. circuit court decision that states even “a solitary reference to Jesus Christ” in invocations before the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners’ meetings could do “violence to the pluralistic and inclusive values that are a defining feature of American public life.”

Furthermore, wrote Judge James Harvie Wilkinson III in the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals majority opinion, legislative invocations offered in Jesus’ name are inherently “sectarian” and thus should be censored lest they make some attendees feel “uncomfortable, unwelcome and unwilling to participate in … public affairs.”

I’m quite confused. I looked up Judge Wilkinson, and from what I read, this sort of ruling seems quite out of character for him. As a Reagan appointee, he has, or at least had, made common sense, constitutional rulings, as best I can tell. So, why the change? I’m sure he’s quite aware of the 1st Amendment, and the history.  The Constitution puts limits on the government, NOT the people.  Judges are sworn to uphold the Constitution, not deny the people their God given rights.

Update On The Homefront

28 October 2011, 4:55 pm. 6 Comments. Filed under Friends & Family, Just Cuz.

Well, I haven’t given an update for a while, have I. Well, I figured folks would know I was still around since now and then, there has been a post or two going up. :D

My progress from the TKR is going forward. I found a lady who wanted to get rid of her bike that goes nowhere, nice one too….digital stuff…and practically brand new, so that has been my mostly every day rehab at home. :) I found out that if I use my Daily Bible reading, it comes out to 3.5 miles, so, I’m getting those 2 birds at the same time. Works out great! I am having some issues with the weather though. UGH! If my barometer goes off like this at 52 degrees, what is it going to be like at 32, or 22? *shakes head* I’m fairly sure I’ll survive, but I won’t be happy. grrrrr  Likely, the Mr will find many things to keep him occupied and out of the “whining” room.  Heh.

Now, for the REALLY good news. The doc has pronounced the Mr in remission. How do I know? I saw it on his FB status! *mumbling under breath at Mr* Nope, he didn’t tell me. He says he thought he did, but no…I’m pretty sure I would have remembered something like that, don’t you? HUMPH! MEN!  He does have to go for some test or other in January, and they decided not to cut on his liver.  Yep.  I’m confused.  But that’s ok, that word “remission” makes it all worth it.  :D

So, that’s where we stand for the moment. All the prayers and encouragement has been a God send for both of us. We sincerely appreciate all of y’all!

U.S. Priority: U.S. NOT U.N,

Should America Carry the U.N.?
The Foundry

The 39-story United Nations headquarters stands on the banks of the East River in Manhattan. But now the U.N. is planning the construction of a new building next door, with a price tag pegged at $400 million — and it could soar even higher. And since U.S. taxpayers pay 22 percent of the U.N. budget, the costs for that new building will come right out of your pocket, leading to a very serious question: Just how far should the United States go in supporting the U.N. and international organizations like it?

The issue of a new building in New York isn’t the only U.N. story to make the headlines this year. Take the issue of Palestine, which over the summer formally requested U.N. membership. If Palestine were to succeed in its unilateral efforts, it would be detrimental to U.S. interests in the region, isolate Israel, and deal a major setback to Israeli-Palestinian peace prospects. And all of that would come at the hands of an international organization over which the United States can exert strong influence but cannot control.  If Palestine is granted member status at the U.N., American interests–along with those of its allies–will be seriously harmed, requiring an even greater vigilance and financial commitment to maintain leverage for U.S. priorities.  Again, the question is posed: When does our commitment to an international organization become a problem?

Israel denies US request for settlement freeze

Israel denied a request by the United States on Thursday to temporarily freeze settlement construction in order to promote peace talks with the Palestinians.

In a meeting with Interior Minister Eli Yishai, US Ambassador Dan Shapiro requested the freeze – a repeated Palestinian precondition for negotiations – in order to bolster political goodwill as the US tries to counter Palestinian efforts to seek full UN membership.

Large pile of male bovine excrement! Israel could stop every building project, tear down 50% of what is already in the country, and the pallies would STILL complain. Besides, it’s not pallie land anyway. They came from Jordon, Syria, Lebanon, etc. The Jews have been there for thousands of years. God gave them that land, and who in the U.S. thinks they have authority over God? Evidently this administration. Ugh!

Earlier in the month, the United States criticized a Likud-sponsored plan to legalize rogue settlement outposts, saying it does not recognize the “legitimacy of continued Israeli settlement activity.”

“We oppose any effort to legalize settlement outposts, which is unhelpful to our peace efforts and would contradict Israeli commitments and obligations,” a statement from the US State Department said.

And it’s our business where the Israelis build…..why? I can’t even imagine a foreign country telling US where we can and cannot build. What a total load!  The pallies lob rockets into Israel on a regular basis, and the Israelis have been more than patient, and extremely accommodating. Obama “claims” to be a Christian. Well, if he was, he would instruct his minions to stand WITH Israel, not hamper them at every turn. Nope. He’s not. I don’t know what he is, but Christian ain’t it! Is Marxism a religion? :?

From Lt. Governor Ron Ramsey

27 October 2011, 12:50 pm. Comments Off. Filed under 2012, Election Stuff, Tennessee.

Dear Friend,

During a recent stop on my Red Tape Road Trip, a member of the audience couldn’t fathom why it was so hard for certain people to understand why we need voters to supply a photo ID at the polls.

His question seemed to imply that a large swath of the populace opposes photo ID. Let me assure you — nothing could be further from the truth. By almost every measure a politician has to gauge the electorate, the recent photo ID law passed by our Republican majority is wildly popular. Be it polling, emails, phone calls or simply constituents stopping us on the street — support for the measure is strong. Not only do voters agree with the policy when asked, it is one the the few issues on which people I encounter will volunteer their favorable opinion.

So who opposes photo ID? As is often the case these days, the opposition amounts to just a few leaders in the upper echelon of the Democrat Party and their friends in the press.

If you read the slanted news stories and editorials of the mainstream media, you would think that asking voters to present a photo ID at the polls is literally the end of the world as we know it. They believe that photo ID is an attempt to “suppress” the Democrat vote in Tennessee. With all due respect, their candidates seem to have done a pretty good job of suppressing their vote themselves in 2010 when they lost the governor mansion, fifteen seats in the legislature and three congressional seats.
