1 Timothy 1:4-11

23 October 2011, 5:00 am. 3 Comments. Filed under Faith.

4 Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.

5 Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:

6 From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling;

7 Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.

8 But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;

9 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,

10 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;

11 According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.

FYI

21 October 2011, 5:44 pm. Comments Off. Filed under Blog Stuff, Just Cuz.

Today had been one of those days.  Didn’t have anything to say, so I didn’t say it.  :D   Not to mention there’s that extremely annoying muscle pain.  Pfft!  I got m’self one of those exercise type bikes, and have been doing 3 miles a day.  Ya think that might have something to do with the muscle pain?  Naw….couldn’t be.  Heh.

But, as I said, I just don’t have anything to say.  The world is still going to hell in a hand basket, and nothing I say today would change that.  I’d rather have my nose buried in a good book….a great escape.  So, that’s what I’ve been doing, and am going back to la la land.  :P

Biden and Reid’s “Jobs Bill” Farce
The Foundry

If you listen to Vice President Joe Biden, the most effective way to prevent rape and murder is more federal stimulus spending. In the Vice President’s defense, at least this is a new argument, considering the others—jobs created, bridges built, energy generated—have all miserably failed. But this desperate argument, while fresh, is also incorrect.

The Vice President made the remarks first in a speech on Tuesday at the University of Pennsylvania, saying additional stimulus would put police on the streets and lower crime, adding that he wished conservative lawmakers “had some notion of what it was like to be on the other side of a gun, or [to have] a 200-pound man standing over you, telling you to submit.” On Wednesday in Flint, Michigan, Biden doubled down on those comments.

Biden was confronted on video by Human Events editor Jason Mattera and was asked: “And if the Republicans don’t pass this bill, then rape will continue to rise?” Biden angrily responded: “Murder will continue to rise, rape will continue to rise, all crimes will continue to rise.” White House press secretary Jay Carney gave President Obama’s blessing to this message in yesterday’s press briefing, even as The Washington Post’s “fact checker” gave Biden “four pinocchios,” calling the claim “absurd.”

One Of The Many Lies Of The Left

20 October 2011, 6:54 pm. Comments Off. Filed under Opinion.

GOP as ‘party of rich’ is biggest lie in politics
by Rep. John J. Duncan Jr.

The biggest lie in American politics is that the Republican Party is the party of the rich or wealthy.

In fact, the Atlantic Magazine, a year after the 2000 election, had an article comparing red and blue America. It said Montgomery County, Md., one of the wealthiest counties, voted 68 percent for Al Gore, while Franklin County, Pa., one of the poorest counties, voted 68 percent for George W. Bush.

The article said in Franklin County, the Cracker Barrel was the most expensive restaurant and the death of Dale Earnhardt was a big event, while in Montgomery County, most people did not even know who Dale Earnhardt was.

Similarly, Thomas Frank, a liberal political scientist, wrote a book called “What’s the Matter with Kansas?” in which he expressed his amazement that the poorest county in the United States in the center of Kansas had voted 80 percent for Mr. Bush.

All over the country, Republicans lose the superwealthy areas 2 to 1 or 3 to 1.

Welp….Reckon I’m a Racist

With apologies to Jeff Foxworthy
You Might Be a Racist If:
by Jeff Jenkins

You might be a racist if you believe in the content of a man’s character and not the color of his skin.

You might be a racist if you believe that the news media should tell you the truth without political agenda.

You might be a racist if you support Israel’s right to exist.

You might be a racist if you believe that a corporation’s job is to make a profit.

You might be a racist if you believe that manmade global warming has yet to be proven scientifically.

You might be a racist if you believe that the President and Congress should be bound by the Constitution.

You might be a racist if you believe that lower taxes for all stimulate the economy and produce jobs.

You might be a racist if you believe a sound energy policy includes oil, gas and nuclear.

You might be a racist if you believe that the Tea Party represents our nation’s original core values.

You might be a racist if you believe our leaders need to provide documentation of their past.

You might be a racist if you think Herman Cain might make a good President.

You might be a racist if you believe that only elected officials should make laws.

You might be a racist if you think the President should spend more time in the White House and less on the golf course.

You might be a racist if you think Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and Maxine Waters are delusional.

You might be a racist if you believe that Keynesian economics will not create jobs.

You might be a racist if you believe that socialism has failed every time it has been tried and should not be tried again.

You might be a racist if you believe that the housing crisis was caused by corruption in the Democrat party and Fanny Mae and not by Wall Street bankers.

And finally, you might be a racist if you think it would be a good idea if Barack Hussein Obama was a one term president.

Early Onset?

Harry Reid’s Jobs Math

Harry Reid carries a heavy burden these days, blocking and tackling for an unpopular President’s unpopular agenda while trying to hold onto a Senate majority in 2012. So perhaps we should be forgiving when the Majority Leader says what he did yesterday on the Senate floor:

“It’s very clear that private-sector jobs have been doing just fine; it’s the public-sector jobs where we’ve lost huge numbers, and that’s what this legislation is all about.”

Then again, he really said that.

Mr. Reid was trying to defend a new Democratic proposal to spend another $35 billion that the government doesn’t have …

sigh… Let’s face it. Harry Reid is not playing with a full deck. He is, after all, sneaking up on 72. The normal retirement age in the U.S. is 67. I’m thinking he should have taken his pension and gone home. Well, actually, he doesn’t NEED his pension, so how about he just leaves!

The sad thing about people living so much longer is the fact, yes FACT, that many are no longer as sharp as they were in their younger years.  I know from experience.  :?   No, I’m no where near Runnin’ Reid’s age….yet….but even I have noticed that I occasionally have some difficulty grasping the meaning of something that would have been plain as day just a few years ago.

Nancy Pelosi is 71, and she’s not so sharp either.  Have you listened to her speak lately?  The woman is jabbering, making NO sense.  Not that she did before, she is a democrat after all, but she is having a lot more trouble with coherent thought processes.

These are people in positions of power.  Why are they continually re-elected when it is quite obvious to anyone with half a brain, they just aren’t as sharp as they once were.   It really doesn’t matter if they are democrat or republican, with advanced age comes issues.  It’s a fact of life.  Sure, there are some who will retain their snap till they day they die, but if we’re going to be honest, they aren’t that common.

Why aren’t members of Congress required to retire like everyone else?  Shouldn’t there be an age limit?  Or at least, when said member starts showing signs of decreased mental ability, there should be some way to send them home to a quiet retirement, and allow others with all their faculties still intact to take over.  Just sayin’.

Pretty Gross

Still ugly.

Information Minister Mahmoud Shammam said he has confirmed that Qaddafi was dead from fighters who said they saw the body. He said he expects the prime minister to confirm the death soon, noting that past reports emerged “before making 100 percent confirmation.”

I dunno. Looks pretty dead to me. But then, I haven’t had a lot of experience seeing dead people.  They’ve got a video, but I didn’t watch it.

Another Dead Dictator Makes Way For Sharia?

The End of Qadhafi
The Foundry

Former Libyan dictator Muammar Qadhafi is dead from wounds he suffered during his capture near his hometown of Sirte, according to Reuters reports. If the news turns out to be true, it would be great news for the people of Libya who have long suffered under Qadhafi’s tyrannical rule and who have waged a months-long civil war to end the decades-old dictatorship. However, just as the death of Saddam Hussein did not mark the end of hostilities in Iraq and the death of Osama bin Laden did not spell the end of al-Qaeda, so it is also true that much work remains to ensure that Libya’s future is secure.

Ann on the Flea Baggers

Occupy Wall Street (Hearts) Wall Street
by Ann Coulter

The worst thing about Occupy Wall Street is that it’s ruining a good cause: hating Wall Street. Just when opposing Wall Street was gaining momentum, these brain-dead zombies are forcing us to choose between thieving bankers and them.

If the Flea Party were really concerned about the greedy “Wall Street 1 Percent,” shifting money around to make themselves richer and everyone else poorer, their No. 1 target should be George Soros?.

Of course, we don’t know exactly how much money Soros has, since he keeps all his money in offshore bank accounts.

We do know that Soros has been convicted of insider trading. And we know that his general modus operandi is to run around the world panicking sovereign nations, so he can pocket the difference when their currencies collapse.

But the Occupy Wall Street protesters love Soros! It’s Fox News they hate.

Last week, the great minds of the OWS movement, bored with playing bocce ball and getting stoned, decided to protest at the homes of Wall Street’s robber barons. They then proceeded to walk right past George Soros’ apartment building in order to protest at the homes of Rupert Murdoch and David Koch.

THEY’RE NOT WALL STREET!

Nope! Didn’t Watch!

19 October 2011, 8:43 am. 23 Comments. Filed under 2012, Opinion.

Yes, I knew there was a debate last night, but to be honest, neither the Mr nor I was all that interested in watching, for several reasons.  A big one, I was having one of those weather changing “my knee and whole leg hates me” days.  The other major reason?  Well, to be perfectly honest, I’m pretty sick of the petty school yard sniping that seems to be a trademark of Mitt Romney and Rick Perry.  If I wanted to watch children squabble, I’d head down to our nearest elementary school and watch the juveniles doing the neener neener neener at each other.

I’ll be real happy when both Mitt Romney and Rick Perry figure out no one is falling all over themselves to support such childish behavior.  Don’t we already have an overgrown child in the White House now?  Why would we want another one?  I’ll be REAL happy when the RNC realizes just because THEY, and the lame stream media, have decided that Mitt Romney is going to be the nominee, doesn’t mean that WE, The People happen to agree with them.  If they would bother to pay attention, they’d realize, no….we don’t much care for Romney and all his RINO baggage, like RomneyCare.  It’s way past time that the people take the party back from the elitist, or just leave them in the lurch.  If they don’t get their act together, they won’t have an act to get together, because WE will be finding another route to victory!

Government Status Quo Spells Failure

The Backdoor Attempt to Rewrite No Child Left Behind
The Foundry

Remember when then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said of Obamacare that Congress will “have to pass the bill so you can find out what is in it”? Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) is now taking that approach with his attempt to revamp education in America. And just as that strategy was a terrible idea for health care, it’s the wrong move for education, as well.

The Senate today will begin the markup of Harkin’s 860-page proposal to rewrite the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), now known as No Child Left Behind (NCLB). The proposal amounts to more new regulations and red tape that would be layered on to local school districts, maintaining the status quo of Washington-centric education reform. And the trouble is that the Senate hasn’t even had time to parse through the proposed legislation, let alone hear from those whom it seeks to control. In an exclusive interview yesterday with The Heritage Foundation, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) explained his frustrations with the process:

The bill is 868 pages and we got it yesterday, and I talked to committee members today and said this isn’t the way government should work. I thought we’d have hearings. We’ve had zero hearings on No Child Left Behind. I would think we’d have several significant hearings…Bring in the teachers, bring in the superintendents, bring in the principals and find out more about it. We’ve had none of that, and I think it’s rotten.

Paul’s solution to the problem? He has promised to introduce 100 amendments, including a complete repeal of NCLB, in order to slow down the committee and force them to take time to consider everything that’s in Harkin’s proposal.
