Romney Says He Will Continue Obama’s Policy of Having Homosexuals in Military
Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, says he has no plans to reverse the Obama administration’s repeal of the ban on homosexuals serving in the U.S. military
In an editorial meeting in early November with the Des Moines Register, which endorsed him for the Iowa caucuses pending on Jan. 3, Romney was asked, “How do you feel about gays serving openly in the military?”
Romney said, “That’s already occurred. I’m not planning on reversing that at this stage.”
Maybe Mormons really don’t use the Holy Bible as a guide. Having never read all of the Book of Mormon, I can’t say what is in there about homosexuality being a sin. But I DO know what the Bible says, and if Romney still claims to be a Christian, then perhaps he should rethink his stance on the issue.
I don’t care if you are gay, or not. That isn’t my concern. What IS my concern is people who insist on making wrong into right, and abnormal into normal, then pushing it on our kids. Our ‘agenda’ should be God’s agenda, and His agenda states categorically that homosexuality is a sin. I’m grateful we have a New Covenant, and stoning of has gone out of ‘fashion’ (unlike in the Muslim world, that stones, hangs, and generally brutalizes). Otherwise, there would be people I love being on the receiving end of such practices. But I don’t have to agree with the lifestyle, and I don’t much care to see it promoted in the public square.
It is my guess that any of the evangelical vote Mitt Romney was garnering will vanish in the not too distant future.

The Book of Mormons and the Bible speak out againest homosexuality. We as people only get out of the Books what we want to hear. It is call selective reading and understanding. Most people allow others to tell them what is in the Bible and not read/study for ourselves. Satan can only exsist by having us beleive that God really did not mean what is writen in the Bible or by circumventing its true meaning.
Odd. He wasn’t joking back then, and I don’t believe He’s joking now. He tends to get a tad miffed when His creations ignore Him. I’d rather not take the chance.
Maybe Romney should reverse his position on the discriminatory Don’t Ask Don’t Tell based on your personal interpretation of the Bible? Ever hear of the separation of church & state? Should we base all policy on all religious doctrine? After all, it’s not fair just to base it on Christian dogma, you have to give Jewish, Islamic and every other ish, ic, ian and ism out there their say. But rest assured that Mormons are just as bigoted as you are, so Romney’s actually basing his decision on this issue on what’s fair, not what hate-mongerers like you want. I know that’s not The American Way in your book, but that really is The American Way – fairness. Jefferson himself warned against the dangers of basing policy and law on zealotry. Even one of your heroes, Ronald Reagan, made it clear that he didn’t want religion having any say in government, though he certainly didn’t need religion to be a bigot himself.
Ha! Sorry! I was just reading more of your self-contradicting diatribe. First you say that you don’t care if someone’s gay or not, then you go on villifying and demonizing gays based on three-thousand-year-old religious texts written by heat-crazed lunatics roaming around the desert!
If there is a “God” I think it’s audacious and arrogant to know for certain what this “God” would or wouldn’t want his or her “creations” to do! You’re such a thick-skulled knuckle-head! Really clueless! You think any being powerful enough to create the universe - or even our solar system where it takes something like 8.5 minutes for the light from our own sun to reach our eyes here on Earth – really gives damn where two guys in Milwaukee are kissing?! You’re nuts!
Besides, what kind of sick “God” needs to be worshiped, anyway? The desire to have people bow at one’s feet and kowtow is a manmade concept based on his overweaning ego and insatiable desire to control others.
Ever heard of the Danbury Baptist Church? *shakes head* I would suggest you do a LOT more examination of the subject.
My interpretation? Really? I’ve always thought “You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination.” was pretty clear. That’s in Leviticus, which apparently you aren’t familiar with, as you seem to be extremely ignorant on the subject.
Hmmm…. Do you have a dictionary? Look up the word bigot.
I have not vilified anyone, and I will also not stoop to your level. I’m pretty sure I have much better things to do that attempt reason with the unreasonable. It must be exhausting to have so much hatred built up.
