When there are so many lies to choose from, it’s amazing they were able to choose just one. There ought to be a list of close runners up, cuz there have been a LOT of lies coming from the feckless leftards!

Romney: DADT

Romney Says He Will Continue Obama’s Policy of Having Homosexuals in Military

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, says he has no plans to reverse the Obama administration’s repeal of the ban on homosexuals serving in the U.S. military

In an editorial meeting in early November with the Des Moines Register, which endorsed him for the Iowa caucuses pending on Jan. 3, Romney was asked, “How do you feel about gays serving openly in the military?”

Romney said, “That’s already occurred. I’m not planning on reversing that at this stage.”

Maybe Mormons really don’t use the Holy Bible as a guide. Having never read all of the Book of Mormon, I can’t say what is in there about homosexuality being a sin. But I DO know what the Bible says, and if Romney still claims to be a Christian, then perhaps he should rethink his stance on the issue.

I don’t care if you are gay, or not. That isn’t my concern. What IS my concern is people who insist on making wrong into right, and abnormal into normal, then pushing it on our kids.  Our ‘agenda’ should be God’s agenda, and His agenda states categorically that homosexuality is a sin.  I’m grateful we have a New Covenant, and stoning of has gone out of ‘fashion’ (unlike in the Muslim world, that stones, hangs, and generally brutalizes).  Otherwise, there would be people I love being on the receiving end of such practices.  But I don’t have to agree with the lifestyle, and I don’t much care to see it promoted in the public square.

It is my guess that any of the evangelical vote Mitt Romney was garnering will vanish in the not too distant future.

Persecution of Christians…In The United States of America

Minister Told He Will Face Potential Arrest for Reading Christmas Story from the Bible at Capitol Christmas Tree

Rev. Patrick Mahoney to read the Christmas Story at the Capitol Tree on Thursday, December 22, at 12:00 P.M.

The Capitol Christmas Tree is located on the West Lawn of the United States Capitol Building.

Rev. Mahoney met with Capitol Police officials telling them of his plans to sing Christmas Carols, read the Christmas story, pray for peace, justice and religious freedom, hold a small 5 inch Nativity Display and pray for political leaders at the Capitol Christmas Tree.

Police officials told him some of his activities may be prohibited or constitute an illegal demonstration.

An illegal demonstration? Reading about the birth of Christ is now illegal? WE, The People OWN that building, and everything in it, or around it. It’s ours. WE pay for it. To threaten a minister for doing what he was called to do is beyond comprehension, yet it is happening. IN a country founded on Judeo-Christian values, and LAWS, the thought of prohibiting the minister for reading the Bible, and holding a small nativity in his hand, is extremely offensive!

Rev. Mahoney told Capitol Police officials he would still read the Christmas Story and hold the Nativity Display on Thursday even if it meant arrest or citation.

This threat of arrest for reading from the Bible comes in the wake of national news stories reporting that the Capitol Christmas Tree has no ornaments depicting the Christmas Story, The Nativity or Jesus.

God bless this man for standing up for what is RIGHT! If he is arrested, I would be more than happy to contribute what little I can to aid him in his fight against this tyranny! I have to ask the obvious question: If an imam planned on holding an AK-47 or a bomb (which apparently is the typical symbol for the ‘religion of peace’) and reading the Qu’ran in the same area, would HE be threatened with arrest or citation as well? I honestly doubt it!

Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Only Eleven?

While snooping around, I came across this: 11 Of The Stupidest Employees Of 2011

Yep, there are some real prize winners out in the working public. One in particular bugged me. How can the USPS not fire an employee for crapping on a person’s lawn? Seriously? He was just transferred to another route? Are they kidding? Oh, wait a minute….this IS a gubmint employee after all. Ya can’t fire ‘em, even if they need firing. Wouldn’t surprise me a bit if a gubmint union worker could commit murder, and still keep his or her job. :?   And some folks wonder why the government is so inefficient?  Pfft!

But the #1 winner is the guy who cut off an appendage that should not have been in the way in the first place!

“This was an unfortunate accident, but these things happen all the time to people in his profession,” said Edna Keen, the mother of a 54-year-old carpenter in Wantage, England, who accidentally cut off his own masculine appendage while using a saw to make a cabinet.

Really? This happens all the time? I wonder how many carpenters use saws while naked? Because, when you think about it, if this idjit had his britches on, with pertinent parts properly covered, I honestly don’t see how he could have cut off his tallywacker! :?

Testing The Teachers

Gov. Haslam calls for more study of teacher evaluations

Gov. Bill Haslam is calling for more study of Tennessee’s new process for evaluating teachers, in a bid to head off legislative action spurred by complaints over the system’s fairness and practicality.

Haslam said Wednesday that he has appointed SCORE, a Nashville advocacy group that pushed for reforms to teacher evaluations, to conduct a formal review of how well the state’s new system is working. The review will coincide with an internal analysis by the Tennessee Department of Education.

The study comes after state lawmakers, including some fellow Republicans, questioned whether efforts to grade teacher performance are being rolled out haphazardly. Haslam defended the new system and urged lawmakers not to take action until after the state and SCORE reports have been delivered.

All teachers need to be evaluated.  If they are unionistas, they need to be examined even more closely!  :) I’d also like to exactly what they are teaching, how much common knowledge is being taught, so while they are examining the teachers, they also might want to take a real good look at the teacher’s curriculum.

I have no idea what exactly is entailed in this plan, but I’d suggest that looking back over the years on how well each teacher’s students have done in their classroom would be a real good start.  If the large majority of students are learning, then I’d say that teacher is doing fairly well.  If not, then odds are, that particular teacher sucks, and should find a different line of work.

If the system that Gov Haslam came up with needs tweaking, then, by all means, have at it, as long as students are learning what they need to know to survive when they hit the REAL world.  It would also be nice if they were learning the TRUE history of the country, civics, and a bit of ethics.  These seem to be sorely lacking in today’s education.  Teaching the to recycle is all well and fine, but without some knowledge of our past, the kids will undoubtedly continue on the path of what we are seeing today with the likes of OWS and Obamabots.  Ignorance is NOT bliss!  It’s dangerous!

Security and Liberty

Defending Liberty and Security in Wartime
The Foundry

The official end of U.S. operations in Iraq last week calls to mind controversial issues from the past decade. One of the most important intellectual and policy battles, which remains relevant today, is over how to defend both civil liberties and security in time of war. In other words, how should America defend itself from enemies at home and abroad while also preserving the freedoms that we enjoy and that make our country great?

People often say that we need to balance liberty and security. This implies that the two are opposed and that the more we have of one, the less we will have of the other. That’s an understandable way of talking, but it’s wrong. The truth is that neither liberty nor security can exist without the other. They are equally important to the United States and, indeed, are the twin reasons why this nation was founded.

Ann on Newt….Again????

Ok, I gotta toss this in. Ann, we get it! You don’t like Newt. Can ya give us something positive about any of the other candidates? And please, not everyone is as crazy about Mitt as you are, so could ya share a few thoughts on perhaps Michelle, or maybe Rick 1 and 2? :?

Newt Helped Formulate Christmas
by Ann Coulter

Every few years, heinous Democratic policies — abortion, gay marriage, affirmative action, Hillarycare, Obamacare, to name a few — compel previously uninvolved Americans to leap into politics.

This is great, except for two things: (1) We have to get heinous Democratic policies first; and (2) newcomers have short memories, sometimes no memories at all.

The second point is the only possible explanation for why some conservatives seem to view Newt Gingrich as the anti-Establishment outsider who will shake up Washington.

Newly active right-wingers would do well to spend a little more time quietly reading up on Newt’s political career, and a little less time shaking their fists at some imaginary “Establishment” — which now apparently includes Michael Savage, Mark Steyn, Christine O’Donnell, Ramesh Ponnuru, Glenn Beck and me, all of whom oppose Newt’s candidacy. (By the way, guys, are we car-pooling to the next Trilateral Commission meeting? I have a thing at the World Bank that same day.)

Go to 4:00 to hear Paul say that WikiLeaks is “technically” breaking the law, then praising an “American citizen” who gives information to WikiLeaks (Manning, he means) for “practicing civil disobedience,” and calling him a “true patriot.”  (source)

Manning is a traitor. He committed treason, IMHO, and should be shot. Ron Paul is insane, and should be retired to the funny farm where he belongs!  His concern for the safety of Americans is touching.  /snark

Chicago Father Faces Abuse Charges Over Facebook Image of Daughter Bound With Duct Tape

A 21-year-old Chicago father is due in court Wednesday afternoon to face abuse charges after he posted an image on Facebook depicting his 1-year-old daughter bound with duct tape on her mouth, wrists and ankles.

Chicago Police Department spokesman Officer Ron Gaines told FoxNews.com that Andre Curry faces one count of aggravated domestic battery. He was arrested on Tuesday after he allegedly used purple painter’s tape to bind his daughter.

An image of the alleged abuse was posted on Curry’s Facebook profile, but it has since been removed. A caption accompanying the image read: “This is wut [sic] happens wen [sic] my baby hits me back. ; )”

I often kid about taping my 13 year old granddaughter to the wall, but neither, I, nor my daughter, nor my son in law would EVER actually do such a thing!!  This guy should be strung up by his nether regions and the crap beat out of him.  THEN put under the prison! After a few months, he should have the whole process repeated….often. There are some things that should NEVER be tolerated! This is one of them!

The Senate Fails The People….. Again!

Senators, Do Your Job and Get to Work
The Foundry

On the front page of the White House’s website, a clock slowly ticks away, second by second, counting down to the day, hour, minute, and second that the nation’s payroll tax “holiday” expires and the American people get socked right where it counts — in the pocket book. And just next to that clock is a message laying the blame squarely on the House of Representatives. But today the real culprit in this debacle is the U.S. Senate which, right now, is home for the holidays already, celebrating with family while Washington sits in a stalemate.

In a rare appearance in the White House press room yesterday, President Barack Obama reiterated his message, blaming Washington’s inaction on “a faction of Republicans in the House” and their “refusal to cooperate” with the Senate — as if it’s the job of Members of Congress to go along and get along for the sake of advancing the President’s agenda, regardless of whether it’s the right move for America. As a reminder, this is the same President who has not met with House Republican leadership in five months and is now praising the grand accomplishment of a Senate that has failed to pass a budget for nearly 1,000 days under Majority Leader Harry Reid’s (D-NV) direction.

Tuckered!

20 December 2011, 5:26 pm. Comments Off. Filed under Friends & Family.

After recuperating from the drive down here all day yesterday, it was time to take Brat Jr shopping.  One of those ‘it seemed like a good idea at the time’ type things.   No, it wasn’t that she was demanding or anything, she wasn’t.  It was “OMG…… why are all these people in my way?”  We managed to find her some cute preggers tops, and a couple of pairs of britches, which is a LOT more than what I had when I was pregnant way back when with her mother.

Naturally, any and all shopping trips has to include a trip to Wal-Mart!  Why?  Well, because out in the Podunk areas of any state, that’s usually the only place you can go to find just about EVERYTHING needed at any particular time.  Why do people get so nasty around Christmas?  I’ve never figured that out.  It could be because of sheer exhaustion, cuz believe me, but the time we left that store, all I wanted to do was crawl into bed, and perhaps, not die, but come real close.  I have hurts in places I didn’t know I had places.  Of course, my leg has the typical “get off me” pain.  :?   And Jr is still complaining about her back.  *shakes head*  You’d think no one had ever been pregnant before.

I have decided…there will be NO more shopping while we’re here.  If anyone wants something, they can darn well and go get it themselves.  This ol’ broad is not move from this spot, except for nature and sleep!
