BBA Won’t Solve The Problem
The Truth About the Balanced Budget Amendment
The Foundry
In case you’re not keeping track, it has been nearly 1,000 days since the United States Senate passed a budget. Meanwhile, America’s fiscal nightmare keeps growing, and those on the left—including Members of the Senate—keep advocating for even more spending despite America’s $15 trillion national debt. That’s an important record to keep in mind as the Senate votes today on two versions of the Balanced Budget Amendment (BBA).
A BBA is constructive, but it’s not the final answer to America’s fiscal woes despite the tools it offers—in large part because it fails to tackle entitlement reform, the most detrimental driver of spending in this country. A BBA is not a neatly packed solution, as no constitutional amendment can replace the hard work of true spending reforms.
However, Republicans ensured earlier this year that the 2011 Budget Control Act required a vote on a BBA. Their commitment to ending big government’s reckless behavior was well-meaning but flawed, and a BBA has already failed in the House.

Pledge of allegiance in Spanish causes controversy in Lamont
The Pledge of Allegiance is creating a controversy in Lamont. Not the pledge itself, but the language it is recited in.
Elementary students in the Lamont School District recite the pledge in both English and Spanish. Some teachers aren’t happy about it.
It is a pledge of loyalty and allegiance to the United States of America. But, in Lamont, some take offense that the Pledge of Allegiance is recited in a language other than English.
“I think you offer a great way for students to feel included, and it’s the Pledge of Allegiance, no greater honor than to be able to say the Pledge of Allegiance in a second language,” said Fred Molina, Principal, Alicante School.
Honor? I don’t see anything honorable about having kids pledging allegiance in a language that is NOT the primary language of the country, unless, of course, they have moved an American city to a foreign country, and no one informed the rest of the country.
Since 2002, all students in the district’s three elementary schools have recited the Pledge in English and Spanish. It is a tradition for a city that is 97% Hispanic.
“We haven’t had any complaints from anyone about this issue. We feel it’s a very positive thing for our district,” said Ricardo Robles, Assistant Superintendent.
Are they Hispanic, or are they Americans, citizens of the United States? If those 97% are legal residents, why the need for pledging allegiance in a foreign language? Evidently, assimilating to the country you are living in is no longer expected. Perpetuating a division in the country really isn’t such a great idea. Since there haven’t been any complaints, I’m going to take a wild guess and say that there is no loyalty to the U.S. and therefore, said residents are not to be trusted. Hey…just a wild stab.
Since 2002, 35% of students have been part of a bilingual program where instruction is 50% in English and 50% in Spanish. But, the Pledge is recited by all students, including those who only speak English.
“One of the issues with it being in Spanish is that not everyone got a chance to voice their opinion doing it that way. Every time it was brought up for discussion, it was set aside and we never got a chance to vote for it or even discuss it any further,” said Barry Champagne, teacher.
Most people who choose to come to this country, legally, have always worked hard to assimilate, and learn the language of their new country. That doesn’t seem to be the case with a large number of those who come from Spanish speaking countries. Instead of adapting, the rest of us are expected to accommodate them. Does anyone else find this offensive? Not only does this cause an added expense in education, it also does not help the student to learn the language he or she will be expected to know when it comes time to go out into the world and make a living.

Religion of “Peace”?
Forty-five students, among them young children, were discovered held in chains in a basement when police raided an Islamic seminary in Pakistan last night.
The male students, some said to be as young as 12 but appearing even younger, were found in what amounted to a dungeon at the Madrassa Zakarya in the Sohrab Goth district of Karachi.
Led barefoot from their prison, captives told officers they had suffered regular beatings and been hung upside down as a form of punishment.
The hatred these animals have for children just boggles the mind!
Others said they had been visited by Taliban fighters and that 10 of their fellow students had disappeared in recent months.
One boy said that visiting Taliban members had told them to ‘prepare for battle’. Some Pakistani madrassas have long been suspected of grooming Islamic militants.
Police arrested a cleric and two others at the scene, but the madrassa’s administrator managed to escape during the raid, Pakistan’s Express Tribune reported.
The brutality at every level of this so called ‘religion’ should make civilized people question the sanity of our so called leaders that claim this is a ‘religion of peace’. No, it’s not! It’s a cult of hatred and brutality!
Here are just a few examples of how ‘peaceful’ this cult really is:
Is This Suppose To Be Surprising?
10 Things You Need To Know About Islamic Shariah
That’s just a VERY few examples of just how ‘peaceful’ it is. The history of Islam has been quite bloody, overshadowing the horrors of the so called Christians during the Inquisition.
Oh yeah….and try this one on for size, while you’re at it:
Trying to keep up with the vile practitioners of this cult is quite difficult, but there are some who feel it’s their duty to inform the public since the lame stream media has failed to do its job. Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller are just two of the many who have worked extremely hard to keep people informed, and they are constantly threatened by the followers of the murderous pedophile thug.
Until people wake up to the danger that is called Islam, no one in the world is safe, not even their own children!
My Christmas List For 2012

Where Is OUR Nigel???
We NEED one of these guys! In this next video, the people of the individual countries of Europe with the creation of the European Union have lost their freedoms. A Union, I might add, that I was TOTALLY against at its inception. Even I knew it was a dangerous idea. Apparently, at least the British representative has finally figured it out as well.
We weren’t founded as a democracy, but a republic. There is a difference. We need to find our way back to our founding, and very, VERY, quick!

Obama’s Vision: Total Destruction of America!
Why Would Obama Veto Job Creation?
The Foundry
Today, the U.S. House of Representatives is set to vote on a bill that would, among other things, open the door for the creation of thousands of new jobs, prevent a tax hike on American workers, and help reduce the crippling deficit. However, President Barack Obama has promised that he would bring the legislation to a halt with a veto—all because of his opposition the single measure in the bill that would create jobs.
What’s so offensive that would cause the President to level a veto threat? A provision in H.R. 3630, the “Middle Class Tax Relief and Job Creation Act of 2011,” that would provide for the approval of the Keystone XL pipeline project that would bring oil from Canada. Heritage’s Nicolas Loris explains that it would mean “access to easy imports from our northern neighbor, the creation of thousands of jobs, and the generation of revenue for the states where the pipeline passes. Montana, South Dakota, Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Texas are collectively projected to collect $5.2 billion in property tax revenue as a result of building the pipeline.”
Wondering About That M’self!
Yay Me!!

Well, I now have my laptop computer back where it belongs…. IN MY LAP! I called Best Buy first thing this morning, and talked to the young fella who actually checked me in. NOT the one who took so much time explaining, repeatedly, why he couldn’t take my computer last Thursday, which, if he had stopped bumping his gums, could have taken my computer, instead of wasting time. *shakes head* Nope, it was the one who actually knew what he was doing, and only took about 5 minutes to get it done!
to the smart guy with the sense of humor!
When I pulled into Best Buy’s parking lot, I caught sight of one of the coolest things I’ve seen in a while.
The tags were from New York, but I obviously cut that part off. Privacy and all that, don’cha know. I just had to take a picture. Yep, they need to wash it, but still….
You know, of course, while I was over there in Jackson, I had to do a bit of shopping. I was actually looking for a couple of maternity tops. NO, not for me….for Brat Jr!
For the first time in her life, her boobs don’t stick out farther than her belly. *snicker* I’m really NOT old enough for this. sigh… I had no idea that preggers shirts were so unbelievably ugly! Even I wouldn’t wear the ones I saw today.
Talk about OLD woman shirts! For HOW much??? Sheesh! I’m not aware of any 90 year old broads that get preggers.
Then, I was lookin’ at the preggers britches. ![]()
Excuse me, but I didn’t see any gold or platinum on those things. They were just your plain blue jean type britches with that stretchy panel thingy on the front!
But that store evidently thinks they are something REAL special! Think about it. This one pair of britches that a woman will only wear for a few months could pay for a couple weeks groceries for a family of 4. Years ago, it probably could have fed that same family for a month or two. Gracious sakes! Well, I can tell ya…we will be hitting Goodwill or the Salvation Army…or any other second hand store we can find while we’re down there in Podunk Texas for Christmas.
So, anyways….now, I don’t have to re-arrange the Mr’s desk anymore. He’s left handed, and has everything on the WRONG side. I’ve no doubt he’ll be pleased to not have to put everything back where he had it. ![]()
Totally Amazing
I just HAD to post this. So totally cool! However, I think these people are NUTS! Heh.

Iran Conducting Anti-U.S. Operations in Latin America
The Foundry
An attack on the British embassy in Tehran. A desperate pursuit of nuclear weapons. A plot to assassinate the Saudi ambassador in Washington. Alone, any one of these actions by Iran’s regime would be cause for alarm, but taken together they make it undeniably clear that the Iranian threat cannot be ignored. Now, there is news of another effort by Iran to take aim at the United States, this time coming from Latin America.
Heritage’s Israel Ortega and James Phillips explain:
Iran is conducting anti-U.S. operations from Latin America, including military training camps in Venezuela, and expanding its reach across the border from the U.S. in Mexico, according to footage unveiled late Thursday by the largest Spanish-language network in the United States, Univision.
The documentary showed a former Iran senior official accepting a plan to launch from Mexico a cyber war on the United States, one that would cripple U.S. computer systems, including the White House, the FBI, the CIA and several nuclear plants. The official, former Iranian Ambassador to Mexico Mohammad Hassan Ghadiri, was shown accepting the offer from undercover Mexican university students. A trailer to the documentary can be seen on Foundry.org.
Other revelations in the documentary include undercover Mexican students presenting plans for the cyber attack to Venezuelan officials in Mexico. Ortega and Phillips write that the Venezuelan official appeared very receptive to the plot, saying that she was close to Venezuela’s hard-leftist President Hugo Chavez and that she would love to share the information with him as soon as possible. The same happened with Cuban officials in Mexico, who were equally interested in a plot against the United States.

Why I Stopped Going….
This was in our church bulletin this morning, and just couldn’t resist sharing.
I stopped going to ballgames for the following reasons – which could apply just as easily to why I could stop going to church:
1. Whenever I go to a game, they for money.
2. The other fans don’t care about me.
3. The seats are too hard.
4. Coach never visits me.
5. The referee makes calls I disagree with.
6. Some of the games go into overtime and make me late for dinner.
7. The band plays songs I don’t know.
8. I have other things to do at game time.
9. My parents took me to too many games when I ws growing up.
10. I know more than the coaches do anyway.
11. I can be just as good a fan at the lake.
12. I won’t take my kids to a game either. The must choose for themselves what teams to follow.
