Daily Read – January 1

I’ve been doing daily Bible reading…one of those read the Bible in a year things.  Fascinating stuff, lemme tell ya…like Ezekiel.  :D   It was my intent to start the year off by posting what I’m reading daily, but yesterday was such an upheaval, I totally zoned…even after we made our stop for the evening.  Hey…I was tired.  Brain was on overload.

So, anyway, yesterday’s:

Genesis 1:1-2:25

Psalm 1:1-6

Proverbs 1:1-7

Matthew 1:1-25

Real Resolutions

Yes, I’m late. That’s because I only had about 30 minutes to get my rear in gear this morning, and get on the road so the Mr could make it to the next stop and watch the Rose Bowl. :? Right now, he’s not all that thrilled, but hasn’t thrown anything yet. Heh.

New Year’s Resolutions for Conservatives
The Foundry

Let’s be honest: We all know you’re not really gonna quit smoking, start exercising, and eat more vegetables as of today. As Emerson wryly remarked: “All promise outruns performance.”

The key to keeping your New Year’s resolutions is to make them more realistic. Rather than try to drastically change the way you live, why not start with the more modest goal of changing the way you speak? And what better place to start for conservatives than with America’s Founding principles?

As conservatives continue to rediscover the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, it is important to use words and embrace ideas that are consistent with our Founding principles.

On This Day In History…..

2 January 2012, 3:55 pm. 2 Comments. Filed under Friends & Family.

…..in 1975….  I was in a BOATLOAD of pain….pain that actually started on New Year’s Eve of 1974.  From the time it started, to the time it finally ended, the increase was significant.  Sadly, that pain has never stopped….it’s just a LOT bigger now!  About 5′ 9″ or so to be precise!

Yup….my cute little darlin’ daughter has now hit middle age!  ROFLMBO And, on top of hitting middle age (average life expectancy is 77, so yes ya pain in the hinder….MIDDLE AGE!), she’s gonna be a granny in a few months. Yes, this totally cracks me up since she made me a grandmother at the same age. Of course, the down side is me becoming a great grandmother, but that’s beside the point right now. :P

While I grumble and such about her and to her, she is quite aware, I love her dearly! If I didn’t, she would never have made it to this point! :D
