An Ol' Broad's Ramblings

The folks of Murfreesboro, DeKalb County, and from around the state, did their best to prevent a mosque from being built in their community. Evidently, the city powers that be don’t give a flip about the safety of their citizens, and allowed the building to go forward. Now, there are even bigger problems, and naturally, the city powers aren’t addressing the issues. Honestly, I don’t understand how we continue to allow these people to invade our cities and towns. Some will say it’s a 1st Amendment issue. IMHO, since Islam isn’t a religion, but a cult of politics, it isn’t covered under the freedom of religion, not to mention the teachings violate many of our laws, and common sense.
I can’t even begin to comment on this….crap! The left not only wants to murder children, they want to make future murderers of children.
WARNING! GRAPHIC IMAGES!
I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.
He has not upheld the Constitution. He has not preserved or protected anything. He has usurped power that does not belong to the executive branch of our form of government (Republic). Congress stomps their feet, but does absolutely nothing to stop him. After three years, one of which the Republicans controlled the House, why has no one brought impeachment proceedings against the fascist? Why hasn’t he been arrested and charged with treason? I can tell you why… We have a bunch of cowards in Congress who, while whining about the blatant violations of the current POTUS, don’t have the cajones to actually stop him from ripping our Constitution to shreds.
1. Grant reprieves and pardons (except in impeachment cases)
2. Appoint Ambassadors (again with the consent of senate)
3. Appoints public ministers and consuls (with the consent of senate)
4. Can reject or accept the judges of the supreme court (with the consent of senate)
5. Can appoint basically any officer that is ranked below him with the consent of the senate
6. Can fill up vacancies during the recess of the senate
I have seen nothing in the document that states the president force anyone to do anything.
1st Amendment: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. (emphasis added)
WE, The People are granted five VERY important freedoms in the First Amendment:
The First Amendment says that people have the right to speak freely without government interference.
The First Amendment gives the press the right to publish news, information and opinions without government interference. This also means people have the right to publish their own newspapers, newsletters, magazines, etc.
The First Amendment prohibits government from establishing a religion and protects each person’s right to practice (or not practice) any faith without government interference. (emphasis mine)
The First Amendment says that people have the right to appeal to government in favor of or against policies that affect them or that they feel strongly about. This freedom includes the right to gather signatures in support of a cause and to lobby legislative bodies for or against legislation.
The First Amendment says that people have the right to gather in public to march, protest, demonstrate, carry signs and otherwise express their views in a nonviolent way. It also means people can join and associate with groups and organizations without interference.
Nowhere does it state that the president can force religious organizations to go against their doctrine. Who would you rather answer to, Obama….or God. I choose God!
A Republican lawmaker wants higher bails set for illegal immigrants involved in serious injury or fatal crashes.
A bill proposed by state Rep. Joe Carr of Lascassas would lead to higher bail amounts for illegal immigrants in those situations by automatically treating them as a flight risk — making it harder to bond out before trial.
Carr said the bill follows his philosophy of tackling illegal immigration one issue at a time, something he says the state should do to “de-magnetize itself from the dependency illegals have on state services and the fact that they feel like they’re welcome here.”
“They’re not welcome in Tennessee,” he said.
I have a much better idea….how about NO BAIL at all! First they are in the country ILLEGALLY, which is the first law they broke. They are not ‘immigrants’, they are criminals. Second, they are driving on the streets, ILLEGALLY, since they are not allowed to have driver’s license because they are in the country ILLEGALLY. And third, being involved in vehicular crash with fatalities (also known as KILLING people) while driving without a legally obtained license, after sneaking into the country ILLEGALLY, should carry the heaviest of all penalties. That’s 3 strikes right there!
How about let’s use a wee bit of common sense, and not offer criminal invaders ANY bail! I would suggest we enforce our own laws, and perhaps make them even stronger, as so many other countries do. The Mexican government has a strangle hold on their southern border, why don’t we? Other countries, like North Korea, or Afghanistan, just shoot the invaders. No fuss, no muss! I’m not saying we have to shoot anyone coming over our borders, but it is a sort of war, and we are being invaded. Just sayin’.
Obama’s Continuing Assault on the Constitution
With tens of millions of Americans watching, Barack Obama stood at the West Front of the U.S. Capitol on January 20, 2009, with his left hand on the Bible and his right hand held aloft, swearing to God and country that he would preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. Yet despite that pledge, President Obama has time and time again taken actions contrary to the principles of the founding document he swore to uphold, setting forth on a heretofore uncharted path of unconstitutionality that will fundamentally change the character of this Republic for the worse, not for the better.
Last week, America erupted in protest against one of those actions — the White House’s determination to force all insurance plans to cover, at no charge, contraceptives, abortion-inducing drugs, and sterilization as part of Obamacare. That mandate includes employers like Catholic hospitals, Christian schools, and faith-based pregnancy care centers, all of which must offer the coverage, regardless of their beliefs. This assault on the First Amendment’s protection of religious liberties met with opposition from all corners, prompting the president on Friday to address the American people and pledge his commitment to protecting religious liberties by offering an “accommodation” to these institutions — forcing insurance companies to offer free contraception so religious institutions don’t have to.
