An Ol' Broad's Ramblings

The Left Hates The 1st Amendment

Apparently, there has been quite a stir over the comments made by Rush Limbaugh concerning the behavior of a 30 years old feminazi law student.  Welp, if the behavior fits….  Evidently, we’re suppose to have to pay for her sex habits, and those of her friends.  Really?  I don’t think we should be forced to pay for diddly!  We pay for our own health care, and can barely afford that, much less foot the bill for females who can’t keep their legs closed.  Slut is the word I’d use, as well.  So, Limbaugh apologized…..why?  Maybe he could have come up with different words, but so what?  Personally, I have been called names I wouldn’t use on my worst enemy!   We’ve been called a whole lot worse, with NO evidence I would point out, than Fluke was called, and I’ve yet to hear an apology coming from ANYONE!

Limbaugh is losing advertisers, thanks to a campaign from the left.  Why?  Those on the left are just peachy keen when the 1st Amendment applies to them, but let anyone on the right say anything, even if it’s the truth, and all hell breaks loose!  Freakin’ hypocrites!  Has anyone canceled their ads on MSNBC for the horrible things they’ve said about those on the right?  How about Schultz?  That foul mouthed idiot?  What about before Bathtub Boy got canned?  Was there any yanked ads?  What about Tingles and his lies?  Not that I’m aware of, and have found no evidence any of the advertisers pulled their ads.  Yet, here we are, looking at six different companies who have caved to the left.  I wonder how many of these companies would still be in business if it weren’t for listeners of  a variety of talk radio hosts, including Rush Limbaugh?  You see, those on the right are typically employed, and are able to spend their hard earned dollars to purchase items from said advertisers.  So far, there are six companies that will be losing the business of those on the right.

Here are the screen shots I snagged of off that bastion of liberal idiocy, Think Progress, and one from Facebook. ( I won’t link to them.)

(click to embiggen)

So, what we have here are companies that have decided they would rather have the ‘business’ of those who can’t afford them, rather than stand up for the 1st Amendment. So, I guess they are the companies that we will no longer be patronizing!

Sleep Number
Carbonite
Quicken Loans
The Sleep Train
Legal Zoom
Citrix Systems

Both eHarmoney and ProFlowers ‘will look into it’.  If I’m not mistaken, eHarmony is a Christian dating site, so if they pull their ads from his show, it’s possible they’ll go out of business.  The left doesn’t seem to have much Christ in their lives.  :?

Well, here’s the deal. We have a Sleep Number bed BECAUSE of Rush Limbaugh, but I can assure you, when the time comes to get a new one, it will NOT be a Sleep Number. We have been discussing getting Carbonite for our computers, but we will NOT be doing any business with them. There are alternatives. I do a LOT of business with the ProFlowers group, which includes ProPlants, RedEnvelope, PersonalCreations, CherrieMoonFarms, and Sherrie’s Berries. If they drop Limbaugh, they can all forget about getting another dime out of us.

Let’s be totally FAIR, some on the RIGHT hate the First Amendment too.

Case in point; the Rowlett TEA Party, after I spoke out against them when they were taken over by a bunch of Ron Paul morons, and they threatened to sue me if I didn’t retract my words… I told em to POUND SAND…

Same story with a RADICAL Right Mayor here a while back, he tried to have me investigated for my blog posts regarding HIS dictatorial behavior…

    It’s not JUST the Left…

Sadly, there are crazies on all sides.  However, it seems to me that the left turns into rabid dogs, nationwide, to shut down anyone they disagree with.  :?

Wow and I was going to buy a bed at Sleep Train next week.. not now.

I hope these companies feel the squeeze from people who believe in the 1st Amendment.  I don’t think he needed to apologize, but unfortunately I understand.  The MSM has the power to take down people on the right when they speak the truth because of how they report these things – the left’s questionable behaviors are just not reported, and the people on the right are too busy working to spend the time organizing boycotts.  Is this REALLY what we want to be talking about anyway?  I think it’s a smokescreen to hide what this administration is really trying to do.

  6. olbroad. 4 March 2012, 6:05 pm

It just proves that those on our side have the decency to apologize, warranted or not.  Them?  Pfft!  I’m not much into ‘boycotts’, but honestly, these companies have made a whole lot of bucks through advertising on the right side.  Perhaps they should find out just how many there are of us.  :D

Wow, it’s silly stuff like this that made me step away from the Republican party.    It’s not that I’m endorsing Obama, I just don’t want to be lumped in with you knuckleheads.
All that happened was that Rush’s quotes were brought to light.  Rush has the right to say what he wants, and his sponsors have the right to react accordingly.   They have, and you complain.  That’s the free market.
Why don’t you guys take up a collection and sponsor the show.  Oh, wait, it’s not that important to you.

Assuming anyone is a Republican or Democrat or anything else, proves the point of assuming, doesn’t it.  :|   I don’t suppose you noticed the hypocrisy?  No…it’s too obvious.  Sheesh!

  9. Shadowblitz70. 4 March 2012, 9:10 pm

Wheres this idiot ron lonas’s  fake little rage at what the left has been saying?  Theyve been brought to light, as you say. Why didnt their advertisers pull? Rush calls a woman a prostitute, and its GAME ON!  Bill Mahr calls a woman a c***, and they pretend not to notice??

Why are Rushs advertisers pulling over such a STUPID thing? They choose THIS to get upset and pull out over? Seriously?

Stupidity and hypocrisy from the left are as predictable as the sun rising and setting.
Check in the mirror before calling someone else a knucklehead.

    ron is obviously a Paulbot.

Yep….I do have a few that stop by once in a while.  Kind of funny sometimes since common sense is no longer a requirement for ‘em.  Heh.

Don’cha know it’s “different” when THEY do it?  Always is..and we’ve been the polite ones.  Well, I’m pretty damn tired of being polite!  I will call a spade a spade, or a slut a slut, and so should every one else.  Simple!

Dearest Shadowblitz….and old broad (for that matter)
Ah, the namecalling.  A time tested way to deal with people you don’t agree with.   You are getting the first amendment and the free market confused.  This same thing happened to the Dixie Chicks when they made those stupid Bush remarks in England.  The free market punished them, and economically, they got what they deserved.
On top of that, I tweeted Matt Taibbi regarding his thoughtless comments on Breitbart.  I didn’t follow his work very much, but he does have 4 kids under 12, and to me, that would make him off limits.
So MOB (mean ol’ broad), you censor your incoming posts to boot people off if you find them rude, but you call names if they disagree.  There are a large group of people like me that are sick of the partisan name calling.  In actuality, extreme partisanship makes you much closer to the President Obama/Valerie Jarrett contingent than you realize.
To summarize, you mean little name callers, I have no wish for you to be forced to stop.  That’s a violation of the 1st Amendment.   I just stumbled upon this blog, and the lack of eyeballs it gets renders it fairly benign.
To fix your reader numbers, why don’t you advertise on Limbaugh’s show.  I think he’s got about 30 openings.:)  Don’t make me pull this car over…..

  12. olbroad. 7 March 2012, 12:12 pm

Snap out of it!  I didn’t call you diddly!  I do call Paulbots….Paulbots, cuz well, hey….that’s what they are.  If you aren’t…ok.  And FYI, the only people I ‘censor’ are those who have called me worse names that what Rush called Fluke….usually…. Islamonazis.  Notice I haven’t booted your butt.  :|   Yet, you have called me a name.  My skin is a bit thicker than you might ‘assume’.  And you know what they say about assuming.  And you actually don’t know what my numbers are, so that isn’t an issue for you.  Don’t worry.  I don’t do this for money, nor do I really give a happy crap.  I call ‘em like I see ‘em.

  13. Nancy Ratai. 7 March 2012, 1:09 pm

You go girl and keep up the good work.

  14. olbroad. 7 March 2012, 8:09 pm

    :D

  15. ron lonas. 8 March 2012, 2:27 am

    Alright sister,
First, I thought MOB was kinda funny, barely a PG-13.  If you did find it offensive, then (honestly) please accept my apologies.  That’s not my style.
Now Shadowblitz, punkin….I have a bone to pick with you.  I’m a lot of things, idiot is not one of them.  Here’s why I do like Ron Paul.  Most answers of his I have heard START with the constitution and work out from there.  Even if I don’t like his position on something, like defense, I get the logic he uses.   I can live with logic.  It’s a better starting point than the soundbite rhetoric both sides are now using.
If anything, he has brought the issue of the Federal Reserve to the forefront.  Do you understand what fractional reserve policy is?  What about the secrecy surrounding the initial meeting at Jekyll Island?  What about the deep regret Woodrow Wilson had regarding his participation in the process?
So, NOB (nice ol’ broad), I hope my apology is accepted.  Shadowblitz, I got jokes…so don’t get too froggy.  If folks like you and me can’t bridge the divide we have, why are we mad if our candidates have the same problem.
If it makes you feel better, we agree on at least one thing.  Gun control means using two hands:)

  16. olbroad. 8 March 2012, 8:08 pm

Nope…didn’t take offense at all.  Like I said, I have fairly thick skin.  Some of the names I’ve been called by others, as I said before, are the ones who get blocked.  Think what Bill Maher called Sarah Palin….  :|   And worse.  sigh…

If it weren’t for Paul’s stance on foreign policy, I could live with him as POTUS.  Unfortunately, his age is also a factor.  Yes, I know…Reagan was old too, but Reagan was the exception.  :D

IMHO, Woodrow Wilson was a HUGE mistake on many levels.   So, won’t even go there.

  17. Ron Lonas. 14 March 2012, 6:15 pm

From the what it’s worth category.

While I did find a little justice in the market reacting so strongly to Limbaugh’s remarks, it has now gotten out of hand.  To spread an edict like that to all “right wing” radio hosts is stupid.  I try to focus on the right and wrong of an issue, regardless of the party involved.   Am I the only one on this board that got spanked for using “but he did it” as a justification for anything?

I’ve listened to talk radio a long time, and I think it’s very important.  I don’t think those programmers know their demographic any deeper than a number in a focus group report.  So, just know that your token commie on the board actually agrees with you on this point.  No word on pigs flying or the temp in hell just yet:)

  18. olbroad. 15 March 2012, 10:35 am

Heh.  Great mental image…pigs flying and all that.  :D
