Well we are also one of God’s’ creations, does that mean we shouldn’t respect one another too?

“They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator–who is forever praised. ” Romans 1:25
    Very sad, actually.

People can and do ‘respect’ each other.

There has NEVER been an incidence of The Earth showing any respect for man kind.

The only good that we get from the Earth has to be worked hard for and taken .

  4. Taylor. 23 April 2012, 9:17 am

Gary, what about all the crimes that happen in this world? What about the attacks of 9/11? You call that respect?

  5. Taylor. 23 April 2012, 9:19 am

Janlyn. Don’t you think it’s more common to see people worshipping other material man-made things? Like posessions or money?

  6. Gary K.. 23 April 2012, 10:42 am

    Like posessions or money?
Many may value something a great deal; but, that ia not the same as ‘worshipping’ those things.

I’ll just toss in….people earn respect.  It’s not just an automatic given.

  8. Taylor. 23 April 2012, 8:28 pm

Yes. and why do people have to earn respect? some say that animals won’t get into heaven because Christ only died for people. Christ only had to die for people, when a man kills another man it’s a sin, answer me this, is it a sin when a lion kills a gazelle? Thus do animals and plants have to earn respect?

  9. olbroad. 23 April 2012, 9:03 pm

Not even close to the issue.

  10. Taylor. 23 April 2012, 9:26 pm

    And why not?

  11. Taylor. 23 April 2012, 9:27 pm

Are you saying that animals can’t get into heaven?

  12. olbroad. 23 April 2012, 9:46 pm

Having never been there….yet, I have no idea.  But for a group of people to put an animal, or tree, or insect, above the life of a human being????  Yet, these are the same type of people who have no problem murdering the unborn.

  13. Taylor. 24 April 2012, 11:36 am

    I don’t recall ever saying that I was pro-choice.

  14. olbroad. 24 April 2012, 11:53 am

I don’t recall ever saying you were.

  15. Taylor. 24 April 2012, 2:51 pm

And please try not to stereotype environmentalists. Lets not forget it was President Reagan who got the US into the Montreal Protocol. A lot of Republicans who are pro-life have supported Earth Day events.

  16. olbroad. 24 April 2012, 3:59 pm

I said the same TYPE of people.  I didn’t stereotype anyone.  Jeeez.  A person who would whine and cry over a tree, then turn around and walk into Planned Parenthood to murder a baby doesn’t deserve ‘respect’.  And that’s all I’m sayin’.

  17. Taylor. 24 April 2012, 4:39 pm

Well for the record. I believe that both should be respect. Does this mean that i am against sustainable development? Absolutely not. I understand the need for resources like timber and natural gas etc.

The motto of the US Forest Service is Land of Many Uses.

And I love children. I just recently became an uncle. If I ever get rich I am going to have about a dozen, but most of them will be adopted.

On another note, I think the recent U turn in immigration between Mexico and the United States is worth making a post about.

PS: As somebody who makes an occasional post on your site, I must ask. What should I call you?

  19. olbroad. 24 April 2012, 7:58 pm

LOL  Well, I’ve been called a lot of thing, some not so nice.  Usually ol’ broad, OB, but my name is actually Kate.  :D

Oddly enough, some of the best conservationists are the one the eco types hate the most….hunters.  :?   Farmers know the land, better than any city dweller who makes up rules as they go along and end up doing more harm.  Good intentions don’t solve problems.

  20. Taylor. 25 April 2012, 7:11 pm

Wasn’t President Theodore Roosevelt himself also an avid hunter Kate? As well as one of the best conservationists in history?

  21. olbroad. 25 April 2012, 9:16 pm

Yeah, he was.  He was also a big gubmint dude.
