An Ol' Broad's Ramblings
Thanks Newt!
Gingrich to leave presidential race next Tuesday, sources say
Newt Gingrich plans to formally leave the Republican presidential race next Tuesday, senior campaign aides told Fox News, after struggling for months to turn around his sagging bid for the White House.
The former House speaker will “more than likely” endorse Mitt Romney when he makes his announcement to either suspend or end the campaign, a source said.
The decision comes after Gingrich huddled with senior advisers following the five primaries Romney swept on Tuesday night. Romney’s victories made it virtually impossible for Gingrich to secure the 1,144 delegates needed for the Republican nomination.
Ok, so we’re stuck with Romney. He obviously wasn’t ANY conservatives first choice. Come to think of it, he wasn’t any conservatives second choice either, but as per the norm with D.C. RNC elites, and the media, they picked our candidate for us, and now we are stuck with him. I’ll vote for him. I won’t be happy, but I will do it. We MUST remove Obama from office, and hopefully, start criminal proceedings on his entire administration.
Now, my question about Newt is this….why wait until next Tuesday? I mean, he’s never been the top guy through all the primary processes. Ok, he did have a couple of good nights. Huckabee won 6 primaries, but had the smarts to know that the establishment was against him, and pulled out. I’m really surprised Newt has lasted this long. Sad that someone so obviously MORE intelligent than Obama won’t be able to debate him. I would have paid to see him wipe the floor with the Teleprompter King. Oh well. I wasn’t a huge Newt supporter, but I do like him.
Nope, I was for Herman Cain, Michelle Bachman…until she started getting on my nerves, and Rick Santorum. Romney is just the latest in a long line of ‘it’s his turn’ RNC flunkies, made up of more RINOs that even we can imagine.
The alternative to Romney? Four more years of Obama. we can NOT survive as a nation with any more of his ridiculous failed policies. He is bankrupting the nation, with the aid of Congress of course. No, our mess doesn’t fall squarely on his head, but as Truman said, “The buck stops here!” And Obama’s buck is always being passed along to someone else…mostly Bush. Inherited? Pfft! It may have been out of sorts, thanks to the two years of Dem control of Congress, but then along comes the community organizer and he managed to organize our country into total chaos.
So, I’ll thank Newt for his efforts, and hope he’ll have a place at the table in the NEW administration come next November/January 20, 2013, along with Rick Santorum. Ron Paul would make a pretty good Treasury Secretary.
