Wouldn’t you think the media would be all over this? Hmmmm… Silly me! I forgot for a minute there that we really don’t have a media anymore….just the propaganda wing of the “Democrat” Party. Heaven knows, they didn’t check it out in ’08….why the blazes would I think they’d do their JOB in ’12?
Barack Obama, candidate for State Senate in the 13th Legislative District, gave a statement to the membership and answered questions. He signed the New Party “Candidate Contract” and requested an endorsement from the New Party. He also joined the New Party.
So, what exactly is/was that New Party? It is described as “social democrat”. And what’s that?
Social democracy - Social democracy supports legal entitlements in social rights for citizens. These are made up of universal access to public services such as: education, health care, workers’ compensation, and other services such as child care and care for the elderly. Social democracy is connected with the trade union labour movement and supports collective bargaining rights for workers.

The absurd belief that Obama is a muslim is not just a fancy. It is the result of a concerted effort of the Rightwing Noise Machine to portray Obama as “The Other”. The memes are legion: he’s black, he’s Kenyan, he ate dogs as a kid, he’s a cultural marxist, he went to Harvard too long, he’s a Wall Street insider.
The meme is “he’s not like us.” The muslim nonsense is just part of that. This kind of identity politics is particular dangerous as history shows.
President Obama is further to the right than Dwight Eisenhower, who would be called a commie today. The problem is that our evangelical right, driven by racism, has moved into the crazy house.
He is not a socialist though, under him there is an even greater wealth gap between the rich and poor than there was under Bush. That is why the left is not pleased with him.
