Governments Intrude…Again!

‘Circumcision ban makes Germany a laughing stock’

German Chancellor Angela Merkel has warned that Germany could become a laughing stock if it fails to overturn a district court ban on circumcision that has enraged Jews and Muslims.

Merkel’s government has already criticised the Cologne court ruling and promised a new law to protect the right to circumcise male infants, but the conservative leader’s strong comments underline how sensitive Germany is to charges of intolerance because of its Nazi past.

“I do not want Germany to be the only country in the world where Jews cannot practise their rituals. Otherwise we will become a laughing stock,” the Bild daily quoted Merkel as telling a closed meeting of her Christian Democrats.

Didn’t San Fransisco try the very same thing last year?  Wonder what happened with that nonsense?  And yes, we laughed at them too, not only because it was a violation of the 1st Amendment, it was also an utterly absurd law.  Yep, with Germany’s past history, you’d think that someone over there, besides Merkel, would have an ounce of common sense.

Joerg van Essen, parliamentary floor leader of Merkel’s junior coalition partner the Free Democrats, told the Financial Times Deutschland newspaper that the new law would be introduced in the autumn.

The Cologne court, ruling in the case of a Muslim boy who suffered bleeding after circumcision, said the practice inflicts bodily harm and should not be carried out on young boys but could be practised on older males who give consent.

I would say that they should be looking at the one who actually did the circumcision, and leave everyone else alone. Seems to me that the one performing the procedure screwed it up, yet, they want to ban it? Yeah….reckon that’s the same logic that brought us all the PC regulations around here. A kid falls off the ‘monkey bars’, so monkey bars must be banned. Morons!

This is not acceptable under Jewish religious practice which requires boys to be circumcised from eight days old, nor for many Muslims, for whom the age of circumcision varies according to family, country and branch of Islam.

The Old Testament is quite clear on the practice of circumcision, and for a practicing Jew NOT to follow the statutes set forth….well, it’s inconceivable. What the Muslims do, or don’t do…honestly, I don’t give a flip. They circumcise little girls, and that IS barbaric! But isn’t the thought of Jews and Muslims coming together for a common cause rather interesting?

“We are shocked that religious groups deny the harm [caused by circumcision] and at the distorted and disingenuous claims made by those opposing the court’s decision, wrongly suggesting that it is an indication of anti-Semitism,” the chairman of the Secular Medical Forum, Dr. Antony Lempert, said in the letter.

This asshat is an actual doctor? Of what? Ask any male what harm has been caused to his life, unless there was incompetence involved, by circumcision, and I’ve no doubt (and I’ve heard this many times) the answer would be none. It is also a health issue, so once again I ask…what kind of doctor is this, other than anti-Semitic.

“The majority of the world does not circumcise because of an instinctive awareness of the harm, analogous to cutting off any other healthy body part,” it said in a statement entitled “The German Circumcision Ruling: What about the harm to the child?”

The majority of the world is a wee bit bassackwards, and don’t follow the teachings of the Bible. Does that mean this guy is saying God was wrong? Not a smart thing to do, IMHO! Again, I repeat….WHAT harm to the child???? Unless the person doing the procedure is a butcher, there is NO harm.  There is also the issue of hygiene.  According to the CDC, there is a higher risk of HIV with circumcision, but how about not poking it where it doesn’t belong, and that problem is solved!  I could get into the moral issues here, but I won’t.  People already know what’s right and what’s wrong, do I have to remind them?

German doctors have also urged politicians to act to clarify the legal situation, fearing the ruling may force circumcisions underground and increase health risks for young boys.

Germany is home to about 120,000 Jews and some four million Muslims, many from Turkey which has criticised the court ruling.

I can hear the left now…. “If you force something ‘underground’, like abortion, the risks of death increase.” Well, hell people….above ground or underground, at least one PERSON ALWAYS dies with abortion. Underground circumcision is a whole ‘nuther matter. Of course, isn’t it the leftards, aka socialists, who are pushing this circumcision ban?  (I shouldn’t be surprised at the number of Jews versus Muslims in a country that still has echoes of history hanging over it, but in a way, I am.)

It’s time for governments to get the hell out of the way of the people, world wide! It’s not up to some bureaucratic bean counter to decide what parents do, in following the laws of their religion. God’s law trumps man’s law….EVERY TIME! Keeping this in mind, no where in any religious text does it say to “circumcise” girls.

Lose L.O.S.T…..Permanently!

17 July 2012, 8:51 am. Comments Off. Filed under Opinion, UN.

If you check the link, you’ll see that neither senator from Tennessee signed the letter in opposition to this treaty. Why is that? Well, Lamar Alexander is practically a Democrat for one thing, and he’s not running for re-election. He’s actually stated he won’t run again. I’m going to hold him to that!

Now, Bob Corker, on the other hand, IS running this year, so why would he be so stupid as to not oppose a treaty that erodes U.S. sovereignty? Damn good question. My husband had sent him a letter, asking him not to support this treaty, and what he got back? You guessed…a form letter! In said form letter, Mr Corker said he didn’t know enough about the treaty to make an informed decision. *chin drop* Seriously? I’ve known about this piece of crap for a couple of decades now, and that was even before I was paying close attention to what was going on in the rest of the world. And here, we have a United States Senator who is unfamiliar with the U.N. treaty? Hey! Mr Corker! You can rest assured I’ll be voting for Zach in the primary. Early voting going on right now, y’know!

In all honestly, the only treaty I want the U.S. to sign with the Useless Numnuts is the one that says THEY will be leaving our shores, never to darken our doors again! And that WE will no longer be footing the bills for their upkeep, including the financing for every other useless plan they come up with! THAT is the ‘treaty’ I want, and the U.S. NEEDS!

Harmful U.N. Sea Treaty Stalls in Senate
The Foundry

A United Nations threat to U.S. sovereignty has been halted. The Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST), a pet project of Senator John Kerry (D-MA), ran aground yesterday when opposition reached critical mass.

A total of 34 Senators, led by Jim DeMint (R-SC) and James Inhofe (R-OK), have now expressed opposition—enough to kill the treaty if it comes up for a vote.

As Heritage Action for America CEO Michael Needham said:

America had little to gain through accession to the Law of the Sea Treaty—but much to lose. Rather than affirming existing practices, it would have instituted a radically new, international legal regime. The demise of the Law of the Sea Treaty not only represents a victory for American sovereignty, but also the American people.

One of the most vocal and effective spokesmen against LOST has been Heritage Foundation expert Steven Groves. He testified in June before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, chaired by Senator Kerry.
