An Ol' Broad's Ramblings
Early voting is going on in Tennessee right now for our state primary. It started last Friday, and will continue till….the 27th? I think. Somewhere around there. You can check and find out for yourself. I’m not gonna do all the work for ya, y’know!
So, since I have been as sick as the proverbial dog since I got back from Texas (both ears infected, and a few other fun items) today was the first time I actually felt like making that long trek into Savannah (about 5 miles) to do my civic duty. Unlike others in the country, we are legal citizen, and will only vote ONCE, under our LEGAL names! I wish we could say the same for some others. We can only pray our votes count. Since this is a state primary, I rather hope there won’t be the usual fraud from around the rest of the state.
Who did I vote for? Well, it’s nunya, but I will tell ya, I voted AGAINST one of our current U.S. Senators. I doubt it’ll do much good, but hey…I gave it my best shot. I rather hope that a LOT of others will get the message that the man isn’t what we had hoped for as our representative in the Senate.
Why do we vote early? Well, to be honest, there are a couple of reasons. We don’t like lines. Second, we never know if we’re even going to be in town on election day. Considering recent family circumstance, it’s always a possibility I, or we, might have to head southwest again. Hope not, but hey…ya never know.
And HEY….why weren’t they passing out stickers today???
