An Ol' Broad's Ramblings

“not so free light bulbs”

My experience with these poisonous bulbs have been ALL negative. With the exception of the one in the kitchen ceiling, all have burned out in a very short period of time. And the one in the kitchen? I WISH it would burn out! It takes forever to light, and what little light it gives off makes everything look yellow. So, what do I do? I turn on the recessed lights, which brightens up the WHOLE room.

I don’t suppose that anyone in Congress actually did any research on these dangerous bulbs before they foisted them on the public? Naw…didn’t think so.

The tropical plants in the den seem to love the curly bulbs, they never get burnt, they never complain about the light, and they actually turn their leaves toward the lights.

Have any studies been done on the interaction between curly lights and plants? I remember reading somewhere that plants and infrared light don’t play well together and the curly bulbs have practically no infrared.

However, since I’m not a plant and I don’t want to wear sunblock in the house, I have a huge stash of incandescents in the garage (no, you can’t have any, heh).

Heh.  Well, guess who else has been stocking up the last few years.  :P

Since I’m not much of a plant person….the cats tend to consider them litter boxes….I couldn’t tell ya.  Don’t pot grower use similar type lights?  I mean…all those closets and basements ya see on the idjit box show some kind of lights, but not being in that criminal enterprise….  LOL
