An Ol' Broad's Ramblings

I’m really looking forward to more pictures taken by the ‘mini-cooper’ up there. To be perfectly honest, I have yet to figure out why we don’t have some sort of base on the moon yet. The Mr says it’s because the aliens wouldn’t let us. Heh. Yeah…well, Americans don’t back down from some ol’ alien yahoos!
There are some people who have decided that space exploration gets us nothing. Really? How about all the medical breakthroughs? The computer systems? Oh…that’s right…we didn’t do that…gubmint did. Pfft! It was PEOPLE who made those things happen, not some faceless entity. God gave us brains, the gubmint won’t let us use them. Who’s the moron, eh? Oh, and let’s not forget Tang!
I really hope this will be a new page in our exploration. I KNOW there are a whole lot of entrepreneurs who are just itching to dig in, and start working on getting us out there.
I’m thinking it would be great to establish a colony on Mars. We could send all the liberal/progressive/socialists up there, and see how that works out for ‘em. Just a thought.
A video from 7/30/12…great simulation.
HAD to be added! Found on FB, posted by Dan….the welcoming committee!
The man authorities say killed six in a Milwaukee-area Sikh temple before police shot him was a heavily-tattooed, 40-year-old ex-Army soldier, sources told Fox News, but what triggered his rampage remains unclear.
Sources identified the dead suspect as Wade Michael Page, who was at one time attached to the Fort Bragg Army installation in North Carolina. Local authorities have scheduled a 10 a.m. press conference, where more details may emerge about Page and what the FBI is treating as an act of domestic terrorism in the temple, in the Milwaukee suburb of Oak Creek. Six people were killed and four wounded, including a police officer, before the man being identified as Page was shot dead by a police officer.
I just don’t understand. Why? To what purpose?
Sikhs are expected to embody the qualities of a “Sant-Sip?h?”—a saint-soldier. One must have control over one’s internal vices and be able to be constantly immersed in virtues clarified in the Guru Granth Sahib. A Sikh must also have the courage to defend the rights of all who are wrongfully oppressed or persecuted irrespective of religion, colour, caste or creed.
Does this sound like a group that would cause a crazy person to go on a rampage? I have come into contact with Sikhs through my travels, and never once felt any fear, or threatened by them….unlike certain other groups that shall remain nameless.
According to sources in the U.S. Army, Page enlisted in April 1992 and was discharged from the Army in 1998 “under honorable conditions,” which is less than honorable discharge. While not as negative as a dishonorable discharge, such a release would preclude one from reenlisting or entering another military service, sources explained to Fox News. Reuters reported that the discharge was for “patterns of misconduct,” including being drunk on duty.
Apparently, this animal had some issues. What those issues were, we might never know, but perhaps there was something that should have raised a few red flags, but were ignored?
The Sikh Temple of Wisconsin started in 1997 with about 25 families who gathered in community halls in Milwaukee. Construction on the current temple in Oak Creek began in 2006, according to the temple’s website. Sikh rights groups have reported a rise in bias attacks since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. The Washington-based Sikh Coalition has reported more than 700 incidents in the U.S. since 9/11, which advocates blame on anti-Islamic sentiment. Sikhs are not Muslims, but their long beards and turbans often cause them to be mistaken for Muslims, advocates say.
Seriously people, if you can’t tell the difference between muzzies and Sikhs, your ignorance is more than apparent! It seriously chaps my hide that there are still many people who remain willfully ignorant.
My heart goes out to the community in Wisconsin, to those who lost loved ones and friends through this senseless act of violence. We may not pray to the same God, but that doesn’t stop me from praying that the healing will be begin, the pain shall fade, and your neighbors will stand with you against such vile creatures.
Apparently, Solyndra, and companies like it, that have gone toes up, taking millions upon millions of OUR hard earned dollars, knew they weren’t viable companies, and it seems our illustrious POTUS and company knew this as well! Government doesn’t create jobs. Government financed companies don’t either. They take the money and run. I wonder how much in kick backs Obama got for this push towards failing ‘green companies’? Washington doesn’t have any money. It’s OUR money that has been squandered of useless companies.

To make all Laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into Execution the foregoing Powers, and all other Powers vested by this Constitution in the Government of the United States, or in any Department or Officer thereof.
Now, I don’t know about you, but I don’t see a dadburn thing in these powers that grants any body of government to take tax money and give it to their cronies. Yet, that’s what they’ve been doing for more decades than I’ve been alive. Unfortunately, for us, this current administration has apparently never considered they are violating the U.S. Constitution, in other words…BREAKING the laws of the land. What’s more…they just don’t give a damn. They don’t care about you, whether or not you have a job, are able to pay their absurd taxes, and apparently, actually ENJOY preventing the American people to fulfill their dreams of starting their own business, and if you have a business, they are working real hard to shut you down!
They have betrayed the citizens at every turn, and it is way past time they be called to account for the crimes they have committed!
“The Bank of Washington continues to help us!” bragged Solyndra CEO Chris Gronet in emails released last week.
An investigation by the House Energy and Commerce Committee revealed that Solyndra—the solar company that went under, taking more than $600 million in taxpayer funds with it—wasn’t ever supposed to be an independent business. It was built to rely on the taxpayers.
“Getting business from Uncle Sam is a principal element of Solyndra’s channel strategy,” wrote Tom Baruch, founder of Solyndra investor CEMA Capital, in an August 10, 2010 email.
Getting federal money was integral to Solyndra’s business model. But even with government backing, Solyndra failed—just one of a growing list of companies in the Green Graveyard that took taxpayer money and went bankrupt.
